MY IPAD PRO WAS BENT SOMEHOW? I decided to take it in for repair at the Apple store. I didn't know what to expect, but I was a little surprised at the outcome. Did your iPad Pro bend? Be sure to let everyone know in the comments down below!

it's so true because a tablet is meant to be a PORTABLE computer with no keyboard. but yet the iPad can't stand a backpack, this literally defeats the purpose of having an iPad.

You’re 100% right. I got a 2020 iPad Pro 11” 256GB cellular and after 2 months, always in the case, never in a backpack and have been super careful with it. I love this thing and have been extra careful with it. Totally unacceptable for them to bend this easily, thankfully I got AppleCare as well but it’s still BS. Should be covered under warranty

Same exact thing happened to my iPad Pro, heat is what causes this to happen. I was outside in the summer, I had my iPad Pro under a towel & underneath my chair, so not directly in the Sunlight. But Bc it was extremely hot outside it still caused this model iPad Pro to bend. I have heard of this happening to many people & to me it seems like this is a defect this this model/version.
This can actually happen from everyday use if you put it in a backpack alot because the ipad has a bend point where the microphone is badly placed in the middle of the ipad with nothing on thats side exept the microphone

Yes! I’ve been working at home during COVID and have run several apps that have resulted in the iPad overheating and bending. This morning I noticed that the black plastic strip where the Apple Pencil attaches has delaminates due to the bending, so arguably the bending is affecting the functionality of the iPad. I’m very surprised that Apple care treats this as an issue that they have no past records of. Clearly this is happening to many people based on the number of UA-cam videos on this. Apple needs to admit that this is a major design flaw!!

This happened to me too!! I literally hardly ever use mine and it’s been in a drawer, untouched by other objects. 🙁 I’m in rural Alaska so I can’t just stop by a local Apple store. I’m so bummed.

My ipad pro 2020 is also bent, i dont even remember what i did to it to cause it to bent, now i dont know what to do with it because there is no apple store in my country, the best option i probably have rn is to take it to 3rd party repair
I had the same issue with my iPad, it bent from normal usage but it was so slight that I hadn’t even noticed until the display stopped working. The warranty did cover it thankfully.
I have the same issue but they said they won't cover it under warranty.

@@geethikanandakumar423 they didn't got me covered. Mine had a slight bent which then I applied a slight pressure on the opposite side and now it's alright.
My limited warranty hasn't expired at that time, but still they didn't got me covered.

I have to agree. I’m not entirely sure how I stumbled across this video. Bends don’t just happen from normal wear and tear, unless it’s something like a swelling battery. I knew as soon as I saw the blue reflective shades (especially inside, come on), the Tesla and the iPad, that I didn’t like this video.

This just happened to me. I woke up today with a bent iPad. I was on it literally the last night and there was no bend. I don’t have the warranty any more because the warranty is past the 2 years so I’ll be trying the DIY bend it back method…
So, what is the consensus on the main cause? I’ve had mine for two years now, and it just started to bend. It’s in a case and all. I’ll take it with me when I travel (about three times a year), but for the most part, it’s sitting at home.

More likely the bag got squashed some how or after having seeing the goon on UA-cam bending his iPad, he thought he’d see how much force was needed to bend it, guess what, putting a reasonable amount of force on it’ll bend, but never just by itself. Keyshawn Huff if you actually appreciate and take care of your expensive things, you don’t have these issues. It’s amazing how I know people that have iPhone 6s to this day and don’t have any bend. I have the new iPad Pro and have had it for almost two years of literally constant use. I take really good care of my things because I could never afford a replacement, and this thing still looks like it just got pulled out of the box.
It all comes down to people being irresponsible and careless, and unfortunately the Apple gang is a little on the richer side and therefore trend towards not caring. Imagine throwing a slim object made of aluminum in a bag with no protection, probably other heavy things, DEFINITELY tossing that thing around because a bag full of FLAT textbooks alone wouldn’t cause any issues, and then complaining when your thing gets messed up.

I have been using my iPad Air 2 since 2015 now, and so far, no bent iPad yet. I’m getting a new 2020 iPad Pro 11 inch in 12 days. I am kind of worried that if my new iPad will bend or not.

@cphginger to be honest most thin tablets break, apple ipads have been bending for a while now especially the pro models ,this year its more in the news because of the video and lots of people have bought it.
@cphginger there have been many cases of older I pads bending like the 9.7 pro and 10.5 pro. Also older I pads like air 2 and mini 2. The pros bend more from the smart connectors you can look at the bend test from everything apple pro for 9 .7 and 10.5. The reason why everyone knows about this because lots of models had issues out of the box and bend tests that went viral. Most modern tablets bend.

Same exact issue just happened to me with the latest iPad Air 4, in mint condition and kept in an otter box case since day one! I contacted Apple and they said of course it was my fault but it wasn’t as it just noticed it randomly one day. Finally after a few calls they agreed to replace it under warranty.

My son uses this ipad for games. Hes holding both sides and reaching his thumbs across the screen to control the app player… he cracked the screen the first time.. it was replaced but the bent case is still bent. The screen pops up just like yours.
You should buy a $999 monitor stand from Apple, and keep it there, to protect your iPad from bending!

I actually have an IPad 7th Generation and experienced the exact same bend problem that you had. No idea how it happened. I took it in my backpack on a road trip and when I took it out on a stop, it was bent. No idea how it happened and no idea how to fix it…🥲🔫
I am facing the same problem right now. Few weeks ago I noticed a bend in my iPad Air 4 and I took it to the Apple service center, since I have no Apple care+ (even though the limited warranty hasn't finished yet) they are saying to replace the iPad with almost the same cost of a new one.
Even though I don't know how did the bend happened and they claim it to be an accidental damage and they won't cover it under limited warranty 😒

Switched to android phones 3 years ago and haven't looked back. Never getting another MacBook either. @@charliemarren8724 Well, their tablets are good, but only if you are an artist and use the low lattency on the pro. For anything else, like watching movies or surfing, you can get a pretty nice android tablet for 1/2 the money. The phones, well, the sales are showing - oh wait, they don't even announce the sales anymore, it is that bad:) Their other cool thing is the apple watch, but the other manufacturers will catch up soon.
I am typing this on an iMac 27 retina, so this is the only product that is good, but expensive. But this is just the same old iMac from 2012 with newer internals. And as far as I know nobody is willingly buying new macbooks. Until they fix the keyboard ppl will still keep buying 2015 macbooks used.

bought one a few weeks ago, definitely looks fragile...like the top portion of a macbook air...but put a good hard case and it should be fine
Hannah I have the 2018 11 inch. I have a glass screen protector and a case but it didn’t help.
I had the same isue with the iphone 5 but you really have to improve your social manners if you want to get the results you want from somebody

My 7th gen iPad had been in a case never dropped at all and mines starting to bend too. I just got it earlier this year
One day, I had my iPad in for it not charging. From the last visit I was there they gave me a cleaning of the charging port and also pointed out it was a bit bent and seemed to work fine until a day later. I came back and asked another employee for an appointment and we had to wait 15 minutes to get one. During the inspection he also pointed out the same thing, it being bent. After some time he concluded that the iPad’s charging was affected by the iPad being bent and that it will and did degrade over the time it has been bent. Phew! Lucky thing I had AppleCare+ because they said that it can’t be fixed and needed a replacement, normally he would be about £400 but with the subscription it was £40! With that he said that he could do it now but lose the data on the old one or buy more iCloud storage because it was 5 GB and it would take hours to back up anyways so I opted for the less time consuming one, I erased my old iPad and got a new one and I was happy. Yeah so get AppleCare+!!
