I'm about 15 hours into unicorn overlord and it's already a game of the year contender for me. It's amazing
For JRPG's i wrapped up an 89 hour Rebirth playthrough just today! The game is absolutely phenomenal, through and through! :)
Going to take a break and play some other games before (hopefully) diving into Trails to Azure/Atelier Ryza 3 before Rise of the Ronin/Dragon's Dogma II or it'll need to be pushed onward to April (Azure/Ryza 3) before Stellar Blade comes out.

I played Sakuna of Rice and Ruin last month. Compared to something like Rune Factory, Sakuna does less things, but does those things much more in depth.
You can only grow one crop: rice. But you have to sort the rice seeds, grow them as seedlings, till the field, transplant the seedlings to the field, make fertilizers, remove weeds, manage diseases, manage water levels, harvest the rice, thresh the rice, and husk the rice. Luckily, you can't really "fail" the rice growing. Your rice quality is tied to your level ups, so your stats would just increase less.
You can't change weapon types like in Rune Factory, but the weapons have a much higher variety of moves to choose from. You can easily perform complex and flashy combos, and the combat has a surprising amount of depth.
The main issue I had with the game is it can be a little janky at times. The movement can be awkward during the farming. Also there are some collision problems during combat, and enemies semi-regularly go inside walls.
Overall it was a very solid game, and I appreciated the focus on a smaller amount of activities.
Also I picked up Unicorn Overlord yesterday
Most of my time in Feb was spent playing Mary Skelter 2 and resisting the urge sinking hours into Atelier Resleriana. As for this month Unicorn Overlord has taken up so much of spare time, I picked it up day 1 and now I'm 30hrs in. I bought the Collectors Edition, this was the my first new realese of 2024 and I'd say it's a great start. I highly recommend it.
February was quite a slow month for me gaming-wise but I did manage make most of the way through Tactics Ogre: Reborn on the switch (just a little more to go, the final chapter is HUGE with side-quests to do and characters to recruit).
For the rest of march I'm looking forward to playing Unicorn Overlord once my exams are over ^^'', I love vanillaware's games they always manage to deliver such a pleasant experience. Though, I am a tad jealous of everyone getting to play ff7 rebirth, it looks so fun!! (praying it comes to pc soon I don't have a ps5 😭) hope everyone is enjoying it~~ :3
Some very nice games played through by you in Feb. My only real exposure to the Trails of Cold Steel is through a friend when he streamed the entire franchise. Beautiful game, and I hope to experience it one day. FF7 Rebirth looks gorgeous and an amazing follow up to FF7R. For what I've played in Feb, no RPGs overall. Finished WWE 2K23 and Slick Slack (a quick puzzle game). Then moved onto Evil West (which I finished earlier this month). Currently Working on the God of War Ragnarok DLC that came out back in Dec as well as playing through Werewolf" The Apocalypse Earthblood. Also did a Second playthrough of Spider-Man 2. I now this is a RPG based channel, but this is what I love about this hobby and passion we all have. No matter what we play we are all gamers and we can admire and appreciate everyone for what they play, even if it not neccessarily our go to game/frachise/genre (although RPGs were a Huge part of my childhood). I’m playing the Baten Kaitos HD remasters
Spent the last month on Granblue Relink which surprisingly for as grindy and repetitive it can be I haven’t gotten bored or lost interest yet. Also dabble a little bit daily with Resna and just started chapter 4. Will be looking to work on my backlog until Trails releases in July.
Currently playing Granblue Fantasy Relink and Trails From Zero. Getting Unicorn Overlord this week!!
I fell behind a little in February on my goals to finish Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth and Persona 5 Royal. I am nearing the end for both. I did start Persona 3 Reload and FF7 Rebirth just a little bit to see how they are as those two are the next challenge. after these four games are done it's back to the Legends of Heroes grind.
In February I was able to finish Trails to Azure and without a doubt it is among the best Jrpg's that I have been able to play, now I am resuming Persona 3 reload and I also have my sights on YS X Nordics that I want to give this other great Flacom series a chance
February was more of a puzzle game month for me. Tunic, Box Boy + Box Girl, Mario vs Donkey Kong, Pocket Card Jockey. The RPGs I played were mostly the Unicorn Overlord demo, and Fire Emblem Engage that I've been working through.
My Palworld addiction carried into February and took a majority of my gaming time but I'm finally cooling down on it.
I was able to play a cute RPG maker game called Helen's Mysterious Castle. Worth the time if you're someone looking for a shorter JRPG experience. It was refreshing to see a battle experience I haven't seen before. For March though, I'm trying to see if I can finish up Atelier Ayesha and FFVII Rebirth. There's just too many RPGs to play haha

About halfway through trails in the sky second chapter and am playing Unicorn Overlord. Love both so far and I did some Lethal Company with friends outside of the rpg space.
In Feb 24 I played : Granblue Fantasy: Relink , KONOSUBA - God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! Love For These Clothes Of Desire! and Ex Astris (I don't sure this one is Japan or not)
In February, I finished my solo playthrough of Baldurs Gate 3 and started Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Then at the end of the month, I started Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. And now I'm switching between LaD and Rebirth. I'm not sure which one of the two I like best. LaD surprised me a lot, and so far seems to have better pacing. But FF7 is also a lot of fun with lots to do in the overworld, as opposed to FF16.
So many good games releasing now. I'm so sad that I don't have time to play all of them!
25 hours or so into Tales of Symphonia, my first Tales. Been liking so far, even though its more old school than I was expecting. I Wanna finish in march and decide whatever I will play next. (Tales of Abyss or start Trails on the Sky series).
Been playing VII Remake but played a lot last week, so going to switch it up and play Dragon Quest XI and see what all the fuss is about! I heard about it in Like a Dragon (First one) and thought it must be good if they're casually dropping it in as product placement. That Legend of Legacy game looks totally up my street though so once I'm done with those two I'll try this one out, thanks for the suggestion!
Just recently went digital shopping on PSN, i picked up CrossCode, Crymachina, Granblue Fantasy Relink, Heroine Anthem Zero 2, Star Ocean The Second Story R, Sword Art Online Last Recollection and Trails into Reverie, so ill definitely be busy for quite awhile but i also pre ordered Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes, i couldnt resist lol, god i love tax season
I played Tails of Hearts R and the fan translation of Tales of Innocence R on my Vita 😁
I’m currently hitting up Dragon Quest 11 on Steam. Got a steam deck and can’t put it down. Thinking about really delving into the new Atelier R. Combat looks good.
I got through Oninaki last month and finally sat down to finish Intergrade ahead of the new FF7. I don't think I'm going to rush ff7 at the moment though.
February was slow for me. Just persona 3 reload. Finishing that soon then ill focus on granblue and unicorn overlord. I hope im able to start breaking my backlog but know it prolly wont happen LOL
oh man i went ham in February played: Granblue Fantasy Relink, Persona 3 Reload, Arzette, Mario vs DK remake and Penny's Big Breakaway. I also did pickup CS3/4 PS5 for collection purposes.
For March it's more or less FF7 Rebirth and Unicorn Overlord
Working through my backlog, as usual. But I jumped Unicorn Overlord to the front of the line, because duh. It's fabulous.

@StephenDickerman honestly not far at all, but I happened to receive it with not many plans to seriously play it and was very surprised how much I like it, so now I’m hoping to play it in full hopefully this year. Are you far in? :3
@JRPGJungle I'm pretty far in, but still a good bit to go. Pretty much 100% Cornia, Drakenhold, and Elfheim, and I'm probably around 2/3 through Bastoria and I did a little bit of Albion. I'm having an absolute blast
I just started the final fantasy 1 through 6 on my switch I beat the first one and gonna play the second one I’m still playing final fantasy rebirth cause I want to 100% world intel and stuff i beat persona 3 reload I’m excited for the expansion pass as a rpg enthusiast I’m very excited to play some of the rpg games this year i need to figure out how to expand my ps5 storage space genshin and star rail are taking up most of the space 😅
I guess I'm not the only one feeling swamped at the moment. Too much is releasing too quickly and most of them aren't exactly small experiences either, made even worse from the fact that I'm a trophy hunter as well.
My February wasn't too bad but still packed. "Afterimage" took way longer to finish than I thought it would, the DLC for "Fate/Samurai Remnant" was an unexpected side-track, played the first two "Skautfold" games ("Shrouded in Sanity" and "Usurper"), and "Granblue Relink" surprisingly took the remainder of of the month as well. All while trying to stuff in some fighting game time with "Granblue Versus Rising" and "Under Night 2".
I originally had plans to play through a couple 2D Action Platformers ("Mystik Belle" and "Witchcrafty") before finally getting to "Mistover" but decided to jump straight into "FF7 Rebirth" since that's a 200 hour platinum. Didn't want that hanging over my head for too long. That's legitimately going to take all of March for me to finish. And there's still "Overlord Unicorn", though I'm probably going to put that in the back burner for a while.
Damn it, "Legend of Legacy HD" and "Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution" are also set to release soon, much less a bunch of other stuff, like "Class of Heroes 1&2" and "Stellar Blade". Oh well, a healthy backlog just means I'm in no short supply of stuff to play. I'm just running out of storage space.

We certainly have no shortage of things to play, although, yeah, I do also find keeping up with the release calendar much more intense than I had to; don’t know if it’s life, the amount of releases or all of the above. But yes, we’ll be kept busy haha good luck this month :))
Same. I wish I had time to play them all, but trophy hunting means they're all going to take a lot of time. I pre-ordered Infinite Wealth, but I haven't even finished Yakuza: Like a Dragon yet. I've had to skip Persona 3 Reload and Granblue Fantasy Relink. And I'm probably going to skip Unicorn Overlord and Dragons Dogma 2. I made a new years resolution to decrease my backlog instead of increasing it. So even though it pains me, I'll have to skip some, for now at least.
I also have some older games which have DLC codes which are going to expire in 2025, so I made a plan of which games I definitely want to play this year, and that's going to take at least 6 months, so I can only hope I can manage before Metaphor Refantazio releases. There's probably a lot of releases we don't even know about yet as well.
Today I read the bad new : Blue reflection Sun annouce terminate service after open for 1 year 1 month 1 week and 1 day. It's sad because I once played it too and I like it character designs.
Thanks for sharing this, I didn’t know yet. Missed feelings about it - I’ve been keeping up with it on auto-battles mostly because I like the art too, however chapter one didn’t grab me as much as the anime and console game, so while I thought it was a decent enough smartphone game, I also never really properly got into it so I’m maybe not totally shocked if other players fell out of it too and now we’re here lol in any case, thanks for letting me know, I may make a little something about it if I get a minute. Hopefully they repurpose everything somehow (although it’s often not the trend with these service games unfortunately >
Still on my Trails From Zero playthrough (I'm in chapter 4). I caught up with the Penacony storyline in StarRail and finished the Lantern Rite Event in Genshin. I' just finished chapter 2 of Resleriana so slowly catching up with the story. I've been leveling up my main team too. I managed to get Ryza for free and she has been a great addition to my team. I got my copy of FFVII: Rebirth but I'm still not sure if I'm going to play it after From Zero or continue on to Trails To Azure and then replay FFVII:Remake plus DLC, Crisis Core (which I have never played), and finally Rebirth.
I stopped playing Persona 3 reload, not because I didn't like it, but because I just don't have time to play two RPGs at the same time. I will not be picking up the PS5 versions of Cold Steel III/IV since I already have both on the PS4. I pre-ordered Unicorn Overlord but that won't be played until who knows when. Ryza is a great party addition! I have her in JP and not global and I miss her on there haha good for getting through new content :)

nice video as always Tara. im playing rebirth right now and solely trying to focus on that. But in terms of cold steel 3 and 4 , i hate to say it but these ports are disappointing to me for a number of reasons that are too long for a youtube comment 😆😆so i will be getting the pc ports as those are much better imo.
I wonder the reasons 🤔 haha but yes, get the best port you can :))
When u say tell what we've played, do u mean "new" games or anything in general? For example, I've just been playing Mario Odyssey Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

I'm totally into Atelier Res atm! I managed to get Willbell so i have a very effective fire team! Need to play chapter 5 now.
I'm also replaying some atelier game since i'm so in the vibe 😅
I have unicorn overloard but i'm not into it yet, like i played 5h only anyway.
Which shows me very clearly how thin i am when it comes to appreciate a game nowaday, i should avoid following the hype.
So good you’ve gotten a chance to replay some Ateliers, Res makes me really want to do that (and yet also takes the time I would need to do it 😅 but it’s fun so it’s fine haha)
