Hey, just wanted to drop a comment to say that I really enjoy your videos und like the content you make. I love JRPGs (haven't finished many yet) and because of your recap videos I get a good impression about some games. So thank you :)
Since Visions of Mana really caught my attention I wanted to try and catch up with the series so played the first 2 games in May. Currently playing Neptunia Game maker which I’m thankfully liking more than Sisters vs Sisters mostly due to its story and quirky new characters. Did take a short break to play the Daybreak demo which is making the wait for my most anticipated game of this year harder. Also caught up to current chapter and events for Resna and gave a look at the Trails mobile game but didn’t really care for it.
My May 2024 : Saga Emerald Beyond , Persona 3 Reload , Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution , The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Northern War (Mostly are continued play from last month)
I look forward to your monthly JRPG updates. You're so bright and cheery, and you always somehow manage to get gaming time in no matter how busy or sick you are, which motivates me to try to meet my goals as well. I have a huge backlog so most of the games I play are more than a year old, and some as many as 20-30 years, so I also love that you cover the newer stuff so I can vicariously live through your joy and excitement. In many ways your videos serve as extended previews of what's to come for me, so thank you. Love your channel, and hope you never stop making videos, unless of course you lose your passion for them, then I'll survive somehow! Have a great month!
Hey, thank you so so much, I appreciate your kind words and love that my channel could be that to you :3 I'm feeling more passionate that ever at the moment with more time to play, so I'm not going anywhere soon :)) may you keep enjoying and discovering great games (at your own pace is fine! :)) 💖
I've finished up the Base game of Elden Ring in May/June, then dove into a bunch of quick and easy games, but now working my way back to finish off the DLC I had for Borderlands 3 (The Designer & Directors Cut stuff from Season Pass 2), need to get back into some more RPGs though, they were such a big part of my childhood/teenage years, and I miss them for sure. Just not sure with what to start with as the backlog is a massive (and ever growing thing). Great video, love the content. Keep up all the great work and see you for the next one. #Roadto30k
I'm glad you are enjoying Relink! I finally put it down after it being my main game since it released. I'm looking forward to starting Rebirth after I finish Reload in the next week or so
Since last time I finished Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology and have almost finished P4G (I’m in January now). Radiant Historia was really damn good, and though I didn’t end up getting the new true ending, I hope I’ll get to it eventually. P4G has been just as great as I expected, as I am a massive fan of SMT and Persona.
i spent most of may playing octopath traveller 2 , although i did dabble in the Ace Attorney Apollo Trilogy for a bit. so once i finish OT2 i've got smt 5 vengeance and relink next for june. nice video as always and happy gaming Tara.
I'm gonna try SMT V this month. I don't know if it's exactly up my alley. I'm curious though. I was split between that and Rain Code, which was also coming out in June for the Playstation, but when the physical release was set to come out in October, it made that decision easier. I'm still thinking about trying the Neptunia game that came out on PS extra, but I'm going to wait to see what's leaving the service in July first. (I also really want to try Star Ocean 5 - finally. But SMT V is a big project and I still have Rebirth sitting there, staring at me. Judging me. I know baby, I wanna play you too. But I'm not a one game kinda guy. I play around.) Didn't play any JRPGS in the month of May. I did knock off a lot of little games in the backlog. Artful Escape and Last Stop were interesting story games. Finished off the last of Rise of Ronin.
Not sure what I played in May but I did finished Fire Emblem Engage which I loved. I have also been playing two games a lot which are Eiyuden Chronicle: HH and LAD Infinite Wealth. Both are really long (and good). I also played Trinity Trigger but would not recommend that. I am mostly waiting for Trails into Daybreak but that's July.
Congrats on finishing Engage; it’s not my favourite game from last year but I get nostalgic for it sometimes (I wonder if it would hit better second time round? 🤔) And LAD 2 and Eiyuden are both long games I’m interested in, glad to hear they’re going well for you :3 hope you enjoy this month! ^__^
Since your impressions video on it, I did manage to play "Nep GMR:E" myself. And for the most part, I think my initial thoughts were fairly on mark. It definitely is a safe introduction to the series, largely due to focusing on a mostly new cast of characters. And while the returning cast do require some prior knowledge of their quirks, I feel like that's almost a good thing since that allows for more focus on those new characters. And from the looks of it, it seems like it worked. Aside from Older Neptune herself, who is as popular as ever, the Failure Goddesses were quite well received apparently. It's also a direct follow-up mechanics-wise from "Sisters vs Sisters" though it does somewhat fall in some of the same pitfalls. Mainly in how much combat skills are tied to the disc development system. For "SvS", it was entirely optional so a lot of people ended up ignoring it and, frankly, made the combat much worse for themselves as a result. "GMR:E" not only makes it somewhat mandatory for story progression, a lot of those abilities you had to unlock are already bundled into your toolkit by default on top of adding even more abilities you can get. Kind of allows for some hilarious antics if you put in the time to get all the good stuff. I guess as an aside, I decided to finally get back into "Atelier" as well. Back when I got into the series, I started with "Iris" and the "Mana Khemia" duology (as well as some loose crossovers like "Cross Edge" and "Trinity Universe")...which kind of gave me the wrong perception of the series since those are the black sheep. I did play the entire "Arland" trilogy but I basically stopped there with them. I'd been considering for years to get back into the series but the amount of catch up I had to do, what with there being a new entry seemingly every year, just scared me off. The time limits especially were just huge hurdles for me. Well, I finally got over that and, at the very least, am getting copies of each entry. Though that's a slow process given how pricey some entries are now physical-wise. But I am planning to properly start playing the games again, hoping to maybe do at least one entry a month for some steady progress when I finally do. That said, dang is my backlog exponentially increasing again...
Ever expanding backlog is certainly a thing 😅 Very interesting Neptunia thoughts though, I appreciate your insights into combat (will especially keep that in mind if I ever get back to Sisters VS Sisters too, although sounds like Game Maker should train me for it at least). Also of course super happy to hear you get back into Atelier, and interesting to hear about Iris and Mana Khemia (I have a copy with the latter and it seems to be a kind of "cult classic" in the series for those who have tried it, but interesting to hear these entries might be a little different to the Atelier I know :33) Good luck this month! Hope you get some Atelier in haha :))
I have to fully dive into Gran Blue Fantasy this month, and finish Trails into Reverie before diving into Daybreak that is coming very soon. For me Releriana simply does not do it, because gacha on-line games are simply not for me. Lucky enough I heard that there is a more "traditional" single player Atelier game in the make, but have no more information than this so far. I sure want to play Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. As a PC gamer I cannot play Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution, because it's not released on my platform. So that's one that I have to forget for now. Not a big problem, because I still have a lot of games to play in my backlog... Good to see you are having fun!
Surprisingly I did play quite alot this month being , Stellar Blade, Little Kitty Big City, Animal Well, Hellblade 2 and Paper Mario TTYD. For June the only thing im really planning for is SMT5 Vengence for the new story route and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD
I've been playing Neptunia Game Maker, myself, and I've been having a lot of fun with it. Either I'm still very early in the game or I totally stink at the game dev side, as the short reviews in-game fans give the ones I've developed so far have been...less than kind, shall we say.
Great video. I might buy neptunia game maker r: evolution later on for the nintendo switch. I did finish pokemon legends arceus and streets of rage 4 for the nintendo switch and they were great. I might also buy neptunia sisters vs sisters later on for the nintendo switch too. ^_^
Looks like you had a great gaming month with all those great games. I'm debating on getting one of the newest neptunia game. Sister vs sisters is on sale half the price. Did you enjoy it? I'm kinda low on money so i to overthink games i'll buy. Sm5 and mhstories 1 release tomorrow, i still havnt decided which one i'll take first. Since i'm only on switch now, i did finish some games lately, i'm actually very effective. I beat octopath traveler 2 (so much better than first). Cassette beast which was very fun to play, even tho once you got your 2 monsters strategy, there's no need to swap. Pokemon quest 😅, i put almost 50h in it, crazy ride but too much rng. I was curious about "light fairytail" which was inspired by FF7 original setting. Short turn based jrpg but quite interesting. Episode 2 releases a few weeks ago, i only beat the first one. I recommend it (pick them up on sale at 2€ each episode). Hope going back to work isnt too much of hassle. Went back to mine like 10 days ago, already bored from it 🙈 i want more time to play!
I want more time to play too, even if I have a little more! haha the eternal struggle, I guess 😅 As for Sisters VS Sisters, I enjoyed it but I very much only played the start (first hour, tops) and some of the reception I've seen on it hasn't been so positive. If the price is mega cheap, I'd say go for it, but if you're hoping for cheaper, maybe wait or look at full reviews for it cause yeah :3 what I've seen has made me more keen to play Game Maker first Well done beating games, the Switch can be really good for getting extra game time during the day :D hope you have fun with what you play this month! :)
Nice games! At the beginning of this month I finally got back to Tears of the Kingdom and I beat that. After that I started on Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. I already beat Terra's story on proud now I'm playing Ven's. I did pre order Vengeance but I don't know what's up next. I might play Reverie
Wait, how did I miss this video for two solid weeks? xD But my May was largely a combination of one of my staples, Breath of Fire III, and a fresh playthrough of Final Fantasy VII (PSone), which I haven't actually played from start to finish since I was a kid, and really want it fresh in my mind again. I also dabbled in some Breath of Fire IV to kind of compare and contrast with III, and I did finally manage to finish Link's Awakening DX, and it feels amazing having knocked a childhood fave (and my first Zelda game!) off my backlog
Sounds like a great month! I've been having the craving to play my first FF recently (FFX), so I hope it's a good playthrough! Hope you had a good June too! :)
oh, man. we're not even going to finish azure before daybreak! last month i finished off eiyuden, played yakuza kiwami 1, lunar silver star story, lunar eternal blue, and now working on kiwami 2.
I tried! haha not totally giving up, I will be trying to get some time in before Daybreak. But yes, looking unlikely timing-wise. I WILL finish Azure though, I must! :) Great progress on your end! :D hope you enjoy this month too (I wanna play more Yakuza at some point! But staples first. haha :))
In May, I finished my Trails to Azure playthrough. I really enjoyed the story and characters. I can't wait to continue Crossbell's story in Reverie. I wanna know what happens next. Right now, I'm taking a break from Trails and playing Steller Blade and catching up with gacha games storylines. After I finish Steller Blade, probably sometime this month, I'm going to start my 2nd playthrough of Trails of Cold Steel (it's been a really long time since I finished it for the first time and now that I'm more familiar the world of Trails, I'm looking forward to playing it again). I played Neptunia Rebirth 1 - 3 on the Vita and I found them to be fun. I liked the character interactions. One day I hope to play the rest of the games.
Congrats on finishing Azure, I hope to do the same somewhat soon. It's so good Reverie is around to continue with too! :) Sounds like a very successful month! Hope you enjoy this month too :))
@@JRPGJungle Thank you! I thought I was almost done with Azure but the last half was pretty long but it was worth it as everything from both games starts coming together into a very intense final chapter.
Completed ff7 remake with the yuffie dlc.I will be rotating between smt 5,elden ring dlc and trails to daybreak. These will most likely carry me until the year is done😂.
Well done completing 7 and the DLC (I hope to finish the DLC in the not too far off future :)) Hope you keep enjoying everything, don't worry about how long they are ^__^
Sometimes the biggest challenge of any gamer is finding the balance between our games and our real life responsibilities. Don't feel bad that you didn't get as much accomplished in the the month of May. Some progress is always better than no progress and hopefully in the month of June you'll have a few of these jrpg's beaten. The key is to never make it feel like a whore and get enjoyment out of each and every game you play - that is what truly counts. I'm steadily working on my second playthrough of crisis core reunion for the ps5 in order to platinum and permanently retire the game.
Your words are very true, thank you :) I remind myself regularly some progress is better than none and when I accept that I feel okay, especially since as you said, enjoyment is the most important (which is something Relink is very much reminding me of!) Amazing job on Crisis Core (adore that game

Thank you, you gonna check out Baten Kaitos 1&2?
Why not just livestream your playing jrpgs?
I'm not against livestreaming, it's just not really the kind of content I get ideas for :3
Relink is nothing more then a Dead game now, that reached the end of it's content.
