Weiss is perhaps one of the most underrated and under played composers on guitar. Many of his extensive lute suites are simply endless rhythmic marvels filled with soaring melody.
Muchas gracias!
Weiss created this amazing piece, one of the greatest lute music of all time,..... but you're making the guitar sing this tune !!! Only the guitar can sing out the soul of this composition... I'm really digging what you're playing, Maestro Dylla .... 🙏 ......... Weiss himself would be admiring you from up above. ...... 💯
Svyatoslav Richter was sure that Bach's music has every right to an infinite number of interpretations. I think that this thesis also applies to Weiss's music. This performance is of real value because it is played in the guitar manner to the maximum and played perfectly.
I listened to M. Dylla at an international competition in Moscow in 2007 (maybe 2008). Outstanding musician. A special sound, your own interpretation of the performed works!
In the greatest performances, the musician is an instrument that gets played by the soul of the music. Thank you for being the Marcin who demonstrates subtlety and refinement. You, Marcin Della, are a true inspiration. Thank you for your continued mastery and humility.
Saludos Angelo! What a great job! these channels that require so much effort and so few followed! the decline of modern humanity! congratulations Marcin, your playing is very elegant! Greetings Angelo!
Watching the fluidity of your right hand is mind boggling to me. There are those who play 'perfectly' and then there is Marcin Dylla, who plays better than perfect.
I'm a piano player and harpsichord/clavichord enthusiast, but I'm curious how much more difficult this music is to play on the guitar as opposed to the baroque lute? It seems like it would be "stretchier" in the left hand on guitar. It's beautiful on either instrument, especially in this hands of this guitarist.
It looks so much harder to play on guitar, even taking the shorter scale length into account. The stretches on the baroque lute are usually no more than 3 frets and the left hand doesn't have to move that much. Even on a huge baroque lute the left hand will be significantly easier. Most of the difficulty on the baroque lute is in the right hand anyway. It's very impressive to see this played so well on a guitar, the dark timbre of the guitar kind of makes up for not having all the low basses vibrating away on the baroque lute.
Nevermind the size comparative. The difficulty on playing baroque music (Wich are not originally composed for the guitar) is to transcribe the fingering from both hands to the guitar. You end up with very difficult, odd and awkward positions and on top of that, baroque music in itself is highly challenging. Master Dylla did and awesome work here as always
Is this Sonata in D minor WSW34? Does anybody know? I'm trying to find the music for it but there are quite a few Sonata's in D minor in Weiss' catalog?
Yes, its Sonata SW34 in d minor, or also named - Dresden Suite no. 5. You can find more than ten guitar transcriptions of this suite. In D, E and H minor in PDF in the group - "Sylvius Leopold Weiss in VK."
A reminder that there is sanity and beauty in the world. Thanks and thanks again!
Couldn't agree more!
1000 per cent right ❤
Very well said!
Agree 100%❤🌌🌅

I agree, he should be played almost as much as Bach is on da guitar

Absolutely stunning. Beautiful. Hands together for the player.
Very nice shooting, lighting and sound too. The whole video is great.
Another Masterpiece performed by “The Master of classical guitar”, Marcin Dylla.
Actual music..at its height. Most people won't hear this, for better or worse, I'd say we're lucky.

Such elegance...staggering musicality as always.

Thank you maestro for performing these masterpieces in such an altruistic sincere way!

Excellent playing of this beautiful sonata. Tell me who made this wonderful guitar, it's perfect.
Antonio de Torres?
It’s a 1931 Francisco Simplicio
@@marcelo.cau.The description says De Torres...
2 questions. No.1 is that a hauser? No.2 have you tuned down a whole step? Drop C tuning
