I feel that you were not true to your review. You seem to have an issue with every cook and still gave it a thumbs up. You also gave it a pass for not having to use a lot of dishes but you still had to use your oven on some cooks. Why spen so much money to still have to use your oven, the Pro model claims to be a dutch oven. I wan to thank you for this video but IMO this product is a BIG fail!!
This is what a review should be like. Down-to-earth, straightforward, honest, not glitzy, but technically well presented. The ordinary home chef will relate well to this. As for the Ninja, it survived the various tests well. We have several Ninja products, and this one will not be an exception. Not in Canada? 😞
Just got this at Costco for $80 So far I've only made chili, but it was great, brown the meat, and sear the veggies and then set it to slow cook. Made a nice large quantity. Loved it. It's going to be perfect for searing a roast before slow cooking
I bought one in late September after my regular crockpot died. It does everything I want it to do. To be able to sear meats prior to slow cooking is a huge plus. I haven’t tried rice yet but pot roast or pork shoulder it should be amazing. I paid around $110 on Amazon.
Outstanding video. I have had mine for a few months, and absolutely love it!! Yep, it cleans up soooo well! I can cook an entire meal in it. Tomorrow I will try a 9 pound turkey breast. I will sear it and then put it on either slow cook or bake; I am thinking either will work. Thanks for an amazing and personable video.
Thanks so much for this review! I really appreciate that you made several different foods on camera. It helped me to see how versatile the cooker is! I'm curious, how did the non-stick coating hold up over time? Is it still an easy clean?
Thanks so much for your reviews! I just got one of these Ninja Foodi Possible Cooker Pro for $79.99 on sale at Costco here in WA state. I am a die-heart user of my ancient crock pot and my lovely cast iron ceramic dutch oven but my husband talked me into this and I can't wait to use it. Thanks so much for kind people like you that step in and give us help! Best to you!
Would love to hear your feedback. I'm trying with getting one since it is on sale, again. I, too, have cast iron Dutch ovens, instant pots and crock pots. But I'm thinking this could be like a summer oven, to avoid heating the kitchen in the summer.
Great review! I just bought this today! Says it is a steamer and other reviews show a rack but mine does not have one. I have a Foodi 7 in one so want this mostly for the crock pot, steam, and bake. Update. just bought the steamer rack on Amazon for $14. And thanks for doing the pasta... i love this!
It seems to me that to steam the food should sit on a rack, but sitting in the water is more like you would cook in a saucepan on the stove top. I like your reviews and that has helped me decide that this item doesn’t really do anything that my ninja 7 in 1 grill or my 11 in 1 smart lid foodi cooker cannot do

Thank you for your review! Love watching your videos! I made a pot roast with potatoes and carrots in mine yesterday. Was absolutely hands down the best roast I have ever made! It was falling apart! What I truly loved was the Ninja pot did not heat up my kitchen as it cooked all day long!
Hey, could you tell me what setting you used and for how long? Some reviews have mentioned the high setting is too hot, and low setting too low..... Thx!
Thank you for the info and your time. I appreciate the "Average guy" approach to your reviews. Subscribed....Have a great Thanksgiving! (if you do that in Canada, not sure 🤔)
I like that you test the Ninja recipes that come with their appliances. I've heard that some of the recipes are real clunkers, but most seem to turn out pretty well for you. Keep up the good work. I find your channel really useful.
Thank you for this awesome review, I bought this last week because it was on sale at Costco and was unsure of whether I really needed to keep it (already have 3 Crockpots as well as an InstantPot) but after seeing your video, I am definitely going to keep it. Probably will get rid of one of my crockpots though LOL Thanks again!!
Somehow avoided ever buying a crockpot or anything similar. Looking at this one for my first, would you recommend it for a jack of all trades device? I have a Ninja airfryer and blender and love them so I have good prior experiences with the brand!
Does the slow cooker act like a crockpot on low? My foodi (pressure cooker) has slow cook function but it's like a true slow cooker on low it would take about 15 hrs to cook, on high it's really fast and usually cooks at 4 hrs so just wondering if this is same? Or can u put something in on low for 8 hrs and have it cook like crockpot?
I would say this functions like a slow cooker and crock pot. However, I found the “high” setting too high, and the “low” setting too low. I wish they would have had a medium setting. So I stopped using this, and I use the instant crock pot we reviewed. It’s far superior. Marc
Thanks for the excellent review. I just bought one of these because I need a larger crock pot, but wasn't familiar with all the different ways I can use it. It's really helpful that you test some of the recipes from the booklet.
I bought the possiblecooker. Not the pro version as I can still steam in this one. Video shows the versatility of the cooker. I am sure I will enjoy my new Ninja cooker! I love the Ninja products!
@@TheAverageKitchen Thank you. I just unboxed it and it supposedly replaced several things. There are no instructions how to use it as a Dutch oven, though it states that use on the box. Thanks for this great review! My Ninja Foodi Grill XL is truly one of the best purchases I've EVER made.. so was debating on buying this too. I think I will! 😊
Hi there...I am buying this after watching this video...Thank you :) ! Question first...I want to make Cocoa Brownies in it....Do I use normal 8x8 brownie tin or Pyrex type glass square in it? I am confused to the 'steam bake' or Bake option...I've searched comments & reviews here on UA-cam and Ninja website...I can't find how to make brownies in it... Water in bottom of pan? ....Hope you can help...and thank much !
@@TheAverageKitchen Thanks for letting me know...appreciate the quick feedback. Thinking of the Kitchen Aid oven/air fryer you reviewed...I did read of the one serious mishap...haven't seen others comment on negative of this unit-except for initial outgassing of plastic smell first two uses...Do you still use your's ? Thanks.
Wow! As always packed full of content in a small timeframe! Get-her-done! I wish I could cook fast like you! I did purchase this item and ended up returning it. The non-stick was something different and every time I wiped the inside with paper towel, it would leave tiny pieces throughout the pan. Never ever had a single dish, pot, or pan do that. I had also decided that I didn’t need another multi-cooker as all of my recent purchases has most of those options including air fry. Thanks again for a wonderful unboxing and video demonstration.
Thankyou for your review. I’ve bought one because of the gushing reviews and I’m still not sure if the is just a casserole pot or a slow cooker. Thing is been bigged up. Carnt see me making a pie in it.
Hey, great video and thanks for taking the time to do it. I was wondering, if you already have a ninja Foodi, what it the benefit of this device? Other than being able to put in the oven. Not sure how often it would use it and if it is worth it.
Nice video! I have so many other Ninja products, including the Ninja Speedi, so I won’t be purchasing this product; however, I certainly appreciate your demonstration - always thorough and detailed - so it’s easy to follow. I definitely appreciate that!
Hi! I do love mine. I don't see myself using my old crockpot anymore unless I need it for a big group of people. I don't have an instapot.. I still use my Dutch oven tho.. On occasion. I make a lot of dishes with dried beans and I have found it very convenient from soaking to finished product. I'm thinking that if I had an instapot I probably wouldn't have bought this as just not enough kitchen space for so many 'convenientces' 😊 It's not really what I would call an oven. An upgraded crock pot with a skillet option more like. If you want more of an oven type product then a hot air fryer could be good. I have 2 of the ninja brands with one in our travel trailer as it fits perfect into a space that originally had a microwave in the outside kitchen. I use them a lot. Best to all!
@rosipage1606 yes. Apparently the uk term for what we call broiling is grilling. Distinguished from outdoor grilling or barbecuing (as some say) where the food is placed over top of the heat source. Broiling/ what you call grilling has the heat source directly over the food. Moreover, it is usually at very high temps. Approx 260-288 Celsius.
I have the possible cooker and I love it. In the UK there is only the one version (same as your pro version) although there is no sous vide setting sadly. In the UK it comes with the steam rack and although the instructions tell you to use it to steam so veg in the rack, you can just throw potatoes into the pan with water as you did and it’s all good. However, our instruction book clearly says potatoes cut into 1.5cm slices. Or, whole ‘new’ potatoes (so quite small potatoes) and I’ve found it does cook them just fine in 15-20 minutes on the steam setting. Another great video, thanks guys!
What is the slow cook like? I normally put slow cook on for 8 hours and by time I come back the carrots and potato is really soft on my morphie slow cooker
I just bought one today and I’m not sure if there’s something wrong with it? The thing keeps preheating past 5 minutes on Sear/Sauté on High and Low? It became so hot I manually turned it off. Is it supposed to do this? Thank you for any advice.
I was recently gifted this product. I've tried one recipe. It was the deviled eggs. Recipe was in the book that came with the cooker. Eggs were still 100% raw. Now I'm nervous to try anything else until I came across your video. Thank you so much for your review!
Unm, I think the high temp on a multicooker range is about 250 degrees obove the boiling temp I definitely would turn the bake oven to speed up the browning of my onions you can add a extra 50 or 100 degrees more heat.
Have an older version Ninja crockpot/slow cooker...still works well. May upgrade ..new style ...ehhh...not a fan how pot sticks up. ..my old one is flush w the base. Like yr reviews are independent 👏
I use my original Ninja multi cooker that sears, steams, sautes, slow cooks, bakes about 3 times a week. The original lid can not go in the oven. I melted the handle then read the instructions. The original is a 6 quart. I think for way more than 50% of the population, a 6 quart is more appropriate for size. Also most people don't have enough storage room for this new pot. Ninja should go with a 6 and maybe a 4 quart size. My biggest problem is no matter how careful one is with utensils, the interiors do get chipped and scratched. I wish they would go quality stainless instead of non stick. I do love being able to brown my meat then switch to slow cook. One pot is super. If I needed to brown meat in a fry pan then switch to a casserole dish, I would skip the multi cooker because I would not be saving dishwashing. That's their number one selling point...saving clean up!
I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and madly in love with it! But I must say that Ninja let the ball drop not including a rack with this cooker. But I got one that fits it to a tee, so I’m cool.
@@Anotherbaglady16 It’s the rack from my old ninja cooking system I think. I gave that one to my neighbor but didn’t include all the parts. Discovered that I still had it in my cabinet and it fits the possible cooker like it was made for it.
@@michaelpedigo3491 It don't matter which one. Any of the old ninja cooking systems will have a rack that fits the possible cooker. Try and see if you can find one real cheap on Ebay or Amazon.
Nice. My only complaint with it, now that I’ve had it a couple months… is there’s no medium slow cook setting. Only high and low. And the high, is quite high, like make your stew boil high…. Thanks for watching. Marc
Hi. I just received this and mine came with the roasting rack. But no instructions on how to use the roasting rack. Not sure if I should use the bake opt or the slow cook. Anyone know
I just bought one of these for me and one for my mother. I opened them both to check them out and it’s so weird they are the same machine and they have completely different cook pots. The pots look the same outside, but not inside and I have no idea why. One of them looks like your normal non stick and the other looks shiny almost enamel looking inside. Right out of the box the shiny pot had a small chip in the coating on the rim where the lid sits. I weighed both and the shiny one is 34grams lighter than the other one. The shiny one is going back for sure as there is a chip in the rim of the pot. The other one I’m not sure…before. Bought it I saw nothing but good reviews and now that it arrived I’m seeing that most functions it doesn’t do well. I see a lot of reviews saying it doesn’t slow cook well which was my main function to buy it, with the ability to do other things, not do other things with the ability to slow cook poorly. Then I’m seeing many coating chipping complaints, and my shiny one has a chip in the rim new never used, doesn’t give much confidence in it holding up if it can’t survive packing without damage to it. Is the non shiny one an update with a more durable coating? I need to call ninja and find out why there are 2 completely different pots. I don’t know whether or not to keep either. Maybe the instant superior cooker is better at the functions people are saying this one is not good at like slow cooking. Really confused by these 2 completely different looking pots inside. I dunno…there’s a number on the label of the machine has 4 numbers on it and they are different on both machines I’m thinking maybe the lower number was made first but they both say 2022.
"In the sear/saute it didn't beep." Why would it beep when you didn't set a time. You set it to high, then pressed start. How the Bleep would it know when you wanted it to beep?
I just bought this to replace my slow cooker. I love Ninja products. Costco had it for $70. I came across your video in my search to see all what I can do with it. I have to say that I totally enjoyed your review. I just subscribed to your channel. Good job to you & Jamie!
Those potatoes seem pretty thick compared to say regular russet like I see in supermarkets around here (Ohio, US). Your potatoes are rounder than most potatoes I've seen, which tend to be more elongated and oval shaped. The book may have been written with those longer skinnier potatoes in mind, which may have had something to do with yours being undercooked.
Thanks for the comment. That seems like a reasonable explanation, although they seemed significantly undercooked for the shape to be the only reason. Cheers! - J
I have a glass lid for my Ninja Foodi. I use it sometimes when I saute veggies. You do have to be careful with the condensation but having a lid speeds up the process.
I went to Ninja site and downloaded the recipe book and there I found eggs in there. I then bought it on Sam's club. $78 I'm looking forward to trying it out. Gratitude for replying.
No score….lol. I went with the Instapot Dutch oven as this just seemed too big for my needs. It was a hard decision, but the cast iron pot won me over. I thought about the Speedi, but I’m more of a one pot/casserole/soup/stew girl. This is next on my list if the Dutch doesn’t work out. Great review.
@@DirtNassty I actually love mine. Some people don’t. I don’t think you can go wrong with either but I was in the market for a regular Dutch oven anyway. But honestly I was torn. I know I wasn’t any help. lol. I’m more of a one pot cooker anyhow. Soups, stews, casseroles…so for me it was perfect. I think the ninja one is more versatile but also bigger. So for me it was too much. I don’t cook for a big amount of people. If you have a bigger family or kids or company a lot, the size might be better for you.
@@vernabailey3671 Thanks for your input! I already have the thoughts you mentioned as well! I seen a couple reviews saying the display on your Dutch oven was very dim and hard to read, is that true in your experience?
I think when Ninja tests the recipes they count the preheat temp into the recipe. If you start with a hot vessel you are cutting back on actual cooking time. Make sense?
Well, if the pot cooking with side heat, bottom heat, and steam which steam is hotter than grease, of course, it going to cut down the time on your entrees, or meal planner.
i don't know what it is about these cookers but the pasta comes out perfect. i was scared because i tried a one pot mac and cheese on top of the stove from a recipe and i had to throw it out and rush out to fast food to have dinner for my guys. first time i tried it in the ninjafoodi pressure cooker thing it was perfect aldante and again using a you tube recipe. it is some kind of majic

Thanks for this great review! My Ninja Foodi Grill XL is truly one of the best purchases I've EVER made.. so was debating on buying this too. I think I will! 😊
Thanks for the wonderful comment and let us know how you like it! - J
Thanks so much for watching. Unfortunately I don’t know the answer to that question. Marc
Thanks.
Omg it’s my fav small appliance I’ve ever used. Works unbelievable, we use it every day here. I’ve had it for 6 plus months. Zero issues. Marc
Could you make the potpie with the bake setting?
I don't see why not! - J
Excellent video! The soup looked delicious as well as the Mac and cheese casserole! Keep up the great reviews!
Thanks so much ! Marc
Can you please tell me if you can do a prime rib and please show! Thank you!!!
I can’t see why not. I’ll add it to our list. Don’t forget to scribe and hit the notification bell so you don’t miss it ! Marc
Wow awesome comment, really appreciate your feedback and your point of view. Cheers. Marc
How good is the steaming function compare to Cusinart STM1000?
We actually haven’t reviewed any cusinart products. Yet…. Thanks for watching
When making the chicken pot pie, why did you place it in the oven instead of using the “bake” function on the unit? Thank you.
For the purposes of the video, we wanted to test the capability of the pot being able to go into the oven. Thanks for the comment! - J
@@TheAverageKitchen -Thank you, as I have just purchased this product and your video is extremely helpful🤗
Thanks so much! - J
Thanks! I will get one asap👍🏼
The link is in the description!! Thanks marc
hi, may i ask how long is the proof?
Unfortunately, we would have no idea about anything when it comes to proofing. - J
Thankyou for your review. I’ve bought one because of the gushing reviews and I’m still not sure if the is just a casserole pot or a slow cooker. Thing is been bigged up. Carnt see me making a pie in it.
I can’t see doing pie either. Marc
Is it an instant cooker also?
No it’s not. Just a slow cooker. Marc
Does it have a delayed start option?
I think we addressed that in the video but no, I don't believe it does. - J
Hey, great video and thanks for taking the time to do it. I was wondering, if you already have a ninja Foodi, what it the benefit of this device? Other than being able to put in the oven. Not sure how often it would use it and if it is worth it.
Hey thanks for the comment. We just buy a ton of appliances and review them. This is a slow cooker primarily. Not an air fryer like the foodi. Marc
Awesome review. Thank you very much
Thanks so much for watching! - J
Nice video! I have so many other Ninja products, including the Ninja Speedi, so I won’t be purchasing this product; however, I certainly appreciate your demonstration - always thorough and detailed - so it’s easy to follow. I definitely appreciate that!
Thanks so much, I know you’ve watched and commented before. We really appreciate the ongoing support !! Marc
Thanks for the great comment! - J
Great demo
Tho what does broil mean , not heard of it in u.k
Hey thanks for the comment. It’s the top element / burner inside the oven that gets very hot. 500f roughly. Marc
@@TheAverageKitchen thank you , so same as grilling
Grilling would be heat from below at various cooking temperatures. Broiling is heat from above, and very hot. - J
Approx 260-288 Celsius.
agree, a beep would be nice....also a steam rack would be nice, what's with that?
Yup. Biggest issue I have with it. No medium heat setting. Just high and low
How do you steam rice on this unit
I believe you can cook rice in it, but not steam it. It’s a slow cooker. Marc
Awesome ! Thanks for the insight! Marc
Hmmmm that seems abnormal. I’d call ninja and see what they say. Marc
When slow cooking, does it automatically go into keep warm when finished?
Yes it does. Great feature. Marc
Can you use the pot on a stove top?
Not 100% sure, but it can go into the oven at 500f. So I would “guess” yes. Marc
I was recently gifted this product. I've tried one recipe. It was the deviled eggs. Recipe was in the book that came with the cooker. Eggs were still 100% raw. Now I'm nervous to try anything else until I came across your video. Thank you so much for your review!
Thanks very much for the comment and watching ! Marc.
thank you so much for this video
Thanks for watching! - J
Unm, I think the high temp on a multicooker range is about 250 degrees obove the boiling temp I definitely would turn the bake oven to speed up the browning of my onions you can add a extra 50 or 100 degrees more heat.
👍🏼👍🏼
have you tried roasting a beef in it yet? or chicken?
Not yet. But I will !
Have an older version Ninja crockpot/slow cooker...still works well. May upgrade ..new style ...ehhh...not a fan how pot sticks up. ..my old one is flush w the base. Like yr reviews are independent 👏
Thanks for the comment! - J
I agree, that is a strange choice/look!
Can you cook rice in that thing?
I suppose you could. Not sure you would... - J
I just ordered one for My mom ! To replace a broken slow cooker ! & got a good deal on it ! & we have a roast to put in & try it !
Awesome !! Let us know how you like it !! Marc
Can this boil pasta?
Highly doubt it. But I never tried. Marc
Is the coating safe?
As far as we know. - J
Can you cook things like hamburgers or a casserole in this? Thanks.
Casserole 100%. Burgers maybe. Marc
Thanks so much for the great comment. I agree with all your points. Cheers. Marc
I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and madly in love with it! But I must say that Ninja let the ball drop not including a rack with this cooker. But I got one that fits it to a tee, so I’m cool.
Yeah it's an awesome product. Thanks for watching! - J
Would you mind sharing the rack you got?
@@Anotherbaglady16 It’s the rack from my old ninja cooking system I think. I gave that one to my neighbor but didn’t include all the parts. Discovered that I still had it in my cabinet and it fits the possible cooker like it was made for it.
Do you happen to remember which system it came from. May be able to order that specific rack, which sounds like would be perfect.
@@michaelpedigo3491 It don't matter which one. Any of the old ninja cooking systems will have a rack that fits the possible cooker. Try and see if you can find one real cheap on Ebay or Amazon.
I need to see a video when u cook with this machine on bake - especially a whole chicken - please do a video ..
We'll see what we can do! - J
I have the foodi X-LARGE grill so this is the kind of thing I’m looking for as it fills the gaps that the XL can’t.
Anyone know
Interesting question.
Did you get on the Ninja site to see if they had any info? Or contact them directly?
I like your no-nonsense approach.
Thanks so much for recognizing that ! Much appreciated! Marc
Can it go in the oven with the lid on ?
I believe it can up to 500f. Marc
Wow interesting. Thanks for the in depth point of view. Marc
Great video
Thanks so much !! Marc
We would at least quarter potatoes to steam so 20 mins would proba ly work for us.
Makes sense! Thanks for watching! - J
Can you cook rice with it?
Can’t see why not. Marc
It sure looks watery.. the soup or whatever. What is the white stuff.. starch from pasta?
See my reply to your other comment
Great video.
Great video.
Thank you ! Marc
"In the sear/saute it didn't beep." Why would it beep when you didn't set a time. You set it to high, then pressed start. How the Bleep would it know when you wanted it to beep?
Really not sure what ur asking.
Thank you.
No thank you! - J
I thought the pasta in the minestrone soup was supposed to be straight ???
There are no rules! - J
I just bought this to replace my slow cooker. I love Ninja products. Costco had it for $70. I came across your video in my search to see all what I can do with it. I have to say that I totally enjoyed your review. I just subscribed to your channel. Good job to you & Jamie!
Thanks so much for the support! - J
Cheers! - J
Can you bake cake in it
Maybe ? Really not sure. But I doubt it.
Avocado oil is great stuff!
Agreed! - J
Can you cook rice?
I’m guessing yes, but never tried. Marc
I have a glass lid for my Ninja Foodi. I use it sometimes when I saute veggies. You do have to be careful with the condensation but having a lid speeds up the process.
Good point. Thanks for watching! - J
Greetings.
Have you tried cooking hard-boiled eggs inside?
Not in this yet. Marc
I went to Ninja site and downloaded the recipe book and there I found eggs in there. I then bought it on Sam's club. $78
I'm looking forward to trying it out.
Gratitude for replying.
Let us know how they turn out! - J
Thanks so much! - J
How are you liking the ditch oven?... Im deciding between that and this as a gift for my wife for Xmas!
I love the instant Dutch. We reviewed that too. But the display can be a bit dim. Marc
I think when Ninja tests the recipes they count the preheat temp into the recipe. If you start with a hot vessel you are cutting back on actual cooking time. Make sense?
I would agree. Cheers. Marc
I was thinking the exact same thing. That could be why the potatoes weren't cooked through.
Well, if the pot cooking with side heat, bottom heat, and steam which steam is hotter than grease, of course, it going to cut down the time on your entrees, or meal planner.
Thanks for watching! - J
i don't know what it is about these cookers but the pasta comes out perfect. i was scared because i tried a one pot mac and cheese on top of the stove from a recipe and i had to throw it out and rush out to fast food to have dinner for my guys. first time i tried it in the ninjafoodi pressure cooker thing it was perfect aldante and again using a you tube recipe. it is some kind of majic
That's great! - J
