@DYPSDYes! The rice goes into the bottom of the pot, the broccoli on the lower rack and chicken on the higher rack. The cooker has the steam / air fry option for cooking perfect meals like you suggest. As the rice cooks, it steams the brocolli and chicken. At the end of the cycle, the chicken air fries to give it a crispy texture on the outside and a wonderful moist meat on the inside.
The most useful tool in my kitchen for over two years.I have an older model with two lids; this is definitely worth it. I love that I can do everything in one pot; significantly makes it easier and reduces cleaning. Made yogurt last week, always use the pressure cooker, air fryer and sauté features. I can see where the meat probe can be handy, but most of my roasts get shredded for tacos, burritos, chili verde, etc. and I just know the temps and time to cook them at. I also love that I don’t have three separate machines taking up space. If you buy one, UA-cam can be your best friend for how to get using it.
It seems in US website they are no longer listing this model or giving prominence to this. They are listing new models which have everything but pressure cook function in it. How's the pressure cook function in this to cook lamb, beef stew or chicken curry etc? Is the air fryer worth it or better to buy separate air-fryer with wider surface?
@@jakeoo7tupperware So, it all depends on what best suits your household. I have both this type of pressure cooker/air frier and a Ninja countertop air frier oven. I bought the air frier oven to replace my toaster. It wasn’t much bigger and performs the same function and much more; I also like the fact that it folds up under my counter. Yes, the pressure cooker works the same with lamb, chicken, pork and every other meat. You will have tender meat in about 45-60 minutes with all meats. I find the pressure cooker feature invaluable. At time a it only takes 1-5 minutes of pressure, depending on what you’re cooking, rice, pasta, etc. I can do a roast with consume for Birria tacos in an hour or I can spend 4-8 hours in a slow cooker or stovetop. Both the counter top and the pot air frier will do salmon and other fish in about 7-9 minutes better than I could ever get in a frying pan

I've just moved home and currently in the new place while it gets a kitchen refit, me mam had this sitting in the back of her cupboard for months if not years so I thought I'd bring it and it's been great! It was a slow slog working it out though and I'm happy I found this video because I thought I might have been overreacting about the noise as I'd never used an air fryer before so had never heard one before but my god is it loud. Great video straight to the point and covered everything I wanted to know, I'll show me mam the video and maybe she'll see how she could get use out of it because I think I'll try out a normal air fryer instead once the kitchens done.
I bought this on Prime day to replace an older 9-1 with the dual lids. It arrived yesterday evening and I’ve already used it today to slow cook meatballs in sauce for tomorrow. I used the 9-1 mainly for the slow cook and pressure cook functions. Very pleased so far, looking forward to trying the bake function, and hope it will be as well used as the 9-1 was. The 9-1 is still fully functional and I’ve already sold it on.

Hi can you please provide more information on the three tier cooking method - what mode is that you put it on to do this? I don’t completely understand that but it’s what appeals to me most as I want to cook the entire meal f different components in the one appliance thanks
Hi, it is confusing! This is from my transcript, I hope it helps, but also be assured that Ninja provide a very good instruction/recipe book which has a step by step of several meals using this method. “If you are doing steam meals your liquid can be something like a stock or a pasta sauce and one of the really useful features of the 14 in 1 which is why a lot of people on their own love it, is that you can create layered meals where you cook three very different parts of a meal on and below the tiered rack, so for example at the bottom you might start with rice with water obviously, then in the middle you add vegetables on foil and on the top directly beneath the heating element you have your meat or fish so you can cook it all together and you don’t need any other appliances or cooking utensils.”
You can use the 3 tier cooking for steam and steam and crisp settings. On the bottom you add water/stock/broth plus grains or noodles. Then you add the rack and place veggies(etc) in the middle and protein on the top. If using steam and crisp, it crisps up your protein. There's some times mentioned in the booklet it gives you. You can also look into the Ninja Speedi booklet for ideas too since it's core feature is very similar (if not the same) to steam and crisp, just with a 15 min timer by default. You should be able to find the booklets on the site. This type of cooking isn't really new either, except if you want to use the steam and crisp for multi tier cooking to crisp up your protein, that's the perk of getting this for multi tier cooking. It's something you can set up with racks in other multi cookers or steam machines. You can also search online for recipes to give you a better idea how it works in practice, and whether you want to get this multi cooker for that alone or make something you have already work instead.
Amazon should still have stock. They've delisted these last year or so in favor of the Speedi it seems. Maybe because it's cheaper to make since it doesn't have pressure cooking capabilities or maybe there was not enough margin in these products with skyrocketing prices of materials. Might also be doing a refresh like they always do and have new models next year or something. Prime day is coming up, perhaps you can snag it at a great deal then

yes one pot to do it all, it can be done, as proof of concept. But I find it unpractical. After a while I end up with 3 appliances that works for me: Electric Grill (OptiGrill Tefal) + AirFryer/Press.Cooker (InstantPot Duo) + Thermomix (tm6). I rarely use home oven (mostly for pizza, due to its size) OR cooker, mostly to heat up something or fry eggs.
Pretty sure nobody has ever made yoghurt in one of these. Or any Intant Pots, for that matter. Great video, about to bite the bullet on this hulking machine!
it is absolutely THE BEST kitchen appliance I have. I literally use mine every day. However, BUYER BEWARE! Ninja has stopped producing ALL their pressure cookers, yes you can still get them on Amazon and places like that, but look into the safety and lawsuits filed against Ninja regarding these products and be careful! Personally I have never had an issue with mine and I love it! Sad to see Ninja not in the pressure cooker game anymore.
they've been discontinued! many lawsuits regarding explosions when pressure cooking. that goes for all brands too. My son's just died and you can't buy them anymore. Mine works great but I wont use the pressure function anymore
@@CandidClara I bought it now but You need really to take Your time and practise cooking with it. But the fries were great and I also cooked a Gulyash. But its heavy and HUGE! I completely forgot to repy to you! It's easier to say which functions it isn't noisy on which are the slow ones like prove, saute and slow cooker and I would imagine yoghurt although I never did get round to using that.
@@CandidClara Got one for myself. Pressure cooking is quiet and air frying is loud. Probably the fan is my guess. Those are the only ones I tested so far 👀
just bought an 11 in one. Not bought as an air fryer. Bought to replace the steamer, slow cooker and add a pressure cooker. Big.. Yes. Noisy.. yes.. I SAID YES! Fits in the same footprint as the slow cooker. Steamer will be in the bin tomorrow. Looking good so far. Kitchen overhead cupboards aren't the stupid bang your head on low so it fits on the worktop and the lid lifts.
it's not big enough simple as. it may weigh a ton but it's not big enough. it does too many things not as well as other more targeted products. it's not a patch on ninja's own purpose made air fryer and it doesn't come remotely close to the 9.5 litre instant pot (sadly no longer in production - why??????????)
Excuse me, English isn't my native language, I don't understand what is a "prove". I only know the meaning of pursuading somebody with facts, nothing about cooking, and google translate doesn't give other meaning either . What is it? And another question: what a real difference between air frying and grill? I tried both, but choose "grill"' (for chicken breasts, thin steaks and hambourgers, may be I didn't understand the greatness of "air frying"?
“Prove” is a word used to describe bread rising, it’s a low oven temperature oven. Grill is heat from above and air fry is a high speed fan oven. Hope that helps!

yes one pot to do it all, it can be done, as proof of concept.
I completely agree, but I guess everyone will have different favourites!
Pretty sure nobody has ever made yoghurt in one of these. Or any Intant Pots, for that matter. Great video, about to bite the bullet on this hulking machine!
Even I didn’t make yoghurt in it and I usually test everything! 😆
it is absolutely THE BEST kitchen appliance I have.
Thanks for sharing
is that multi cooker noisy?
Yes, did you miss that bit of the video?
they've been discontinued! many lawsuits regarding explosions when pressure cooking. that goes for all brands too. My son's just died and you can't buy them anymore. Mine works great but I wont use the pressure function anymore
They are still for sale here in the UK
Great explanation of a multicooker! 😂
Thank you Derek!
can you cook rice in this one ?
Yes, see 5:40
Love your video! Thank you!! "))
Thanks for the comment!
Well the pot does not look bad but huge!
It is a little unwieldy
@@CandidClara I bought it now but You need really to take Your time and practise cooking with it. But the fries were great and I also cooked a Gulyash. But its heavy and HUGE!
One thing is also the noise. Mama mia! Like a Jet Engine! But for me its cool because I use to travel a lot in my job and I have everything in one device. 😅
edit: Think it is also great for people with a caravan or mobile home.
I thought you were going to say “I used to travel a lot for my job so I’m used to the sound of jet engines!” 😆😆
@@CandidClara 😎😅
The noise: is it noisy in all modes or just in the air fryer mode?
Hi, apologies for the delay replying. We move house today and I really want to double check this appliance before I give you the answer, so how you can bear with me for a couple of days
@@CandidClara Are you done moving? 🤗
Fantastic! Have fun with it!
We are. Trying the steam/air fryer function. Works at reheating a pie beautifully. Bread and cakes next. But never, ever, chips.
it's not big enough simple as. it may weigh a ton but it's not big enough. it does too many things not as well as other more targeted products. it's not a patch on ninja's own purpose made air fryer and it doesn't come remotely close to the 9.5 litre instant pot (sadly no longer in production - why??????????)
Hahah, so I'm curious, what do you have? A Ninja air fryer?
Some might know the sound of a Boeing Triple 7. That.
😆😆😆😆
Give customers too much choice and they never make a decision.
Absolutely!
Great review! It seems like the rumour is that Ninja is getting rid of the probe models due to high failure rates.
Interesting, I have not heard this, but shall investigate!
If it doesn't make good coffee, I'll stick to my coffee maker and my air fryer.
The pot is NEVER on stock, do NOT get this machine, if the pot breaks you're out of luck.
Have you seen this? amzn.to/40LaBEZ
