    Errata: Lol I had to make some footage changes last minute when my video wouldn't export, and it made a couple of my time stamps off for the stuff towards the end - but I just adjusted them and they should work correctly now! :D
    also, i swear i changed the spelling from seaFOOD to seaFOAM a number of times, and Sunday venus to sunray, lol... but that spellcheck in there was determined :D

      most folks don't realize this, but i used to teach crafting classes and get projects published in instructional magazines a lot back before seeeeee one nine happened ... i even taught a class at interweave Beadfest years back! :)
      When I make my crafting videos, i am aiming for my viewers to have the feeling like we sat down in class or home and just hung out a while being creative :D i sure hope that's how things come across! i try to give a lot of pointers so people who try the projects are happy with how they come out :D

    I'm not sure which project I loved best! Maybe the 3 styrofoam covered balls.. Too much thinking went into the turtle, but Sigmund is gorgeous!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

      I agree - Sigmund and Jasmine both took a lot of thinking! But I thought it would be cool to share the process, as well - certain things have to be figured in to anything when you are constructing something new :) And I also wanted a broad range of stuff from beginner to more advanced so that there would be something fun to make no matter what crafting level someone is on :D

    Michelle I absolutely loved watching you do your projects! You are the bomb girl. So creative. Loved them all but my weakness is sea turtles. I'm obsessed with anything sea turtle and I have never figured out what to do with my operculums. Now I know, amazing. I could sit and craft with you all day.! Can't wait to see more beauties.

    Been watching you from the very first video. Been anxiously awaiting for this one. Your videography from your first video to now has really evolved - very impressive with the graphics and all. Love love the shell balls! Just a hint - you can use a bowl of rice or aquarium gravel to hold the balls while you glue in the shells - works for other "wobbly/wonky" shapes as well, because when you "have" to put the ball or shell down and you just can't wait for the glue to dry, it stays where you place it. Love your content especially the Sarasota Shell Club Show video - recognized the names of some of the entrants, let me feel like I was there all the while sitting in my home in San Diego. Love your warm and funny personality - very soothing for me. Keep 'em coming!! Love watching your finding, crafting, and educating! Hugs from SoCal 🥰

    • @echouebijoux

      OH WOW I didn't even think about rice or gravel... i was considering sand but i didn't want to get my shells all sandy all over again lol! 😂😂😂😂
      I am really very glad people are responding so positively to this mega crafting video it makes me happy to see that folks really do want to see both the collecting AND the creating :D
      and I am glad you are enjoying the channel! I have so much cool stuff planned for this chanel too - it sure has changed a lot! I am still the creative goof ball i always was - i just am better at editing and more confident speaking to the camera as if i was speaking directly to all of you guys :) Thank you for your compliments and encouragement and for being around since my first video!

    Hey Mitch here's a head scratcher🤔: I was given the amassed shell collections of 30+ years from both my mother and mother-in-law who shelled in the Caribbean and the Sea of Cortez. SO many to clean, organize along with my own quite substantial and even over many months, I am not done (of course that doesn't keep me from collecting more and my husband is right there with me lol, yeah we have a problem, sound familiar?) it was exhausting 🤪 So I received a huge box of turritella shells 3 +/- inches long - not sure if they are from the Carribean or the Sea of Cortez, but I have tried EVERYTHING to clean them but they still stink! I understand that the operculum for this animal can be pulled up rather far into the shell so that may be the problem and why I can't get them not to stink. I am not a newbie to collecting, cleaning, and using the shells. The only thing I haven't tried is using a dehydrator. 🤷‍♀️ I have been absolutely dying to make a "spiked" decorator ball with some of these. Would love to hear if you or anyone has a way of de-stinking these shells. 🙏🏻🤞🏻

    • @echouebijoux
      @echouebijoux  3 місяці тому

      weird i replied to this but it disappeared... trying again -
      you're going to wanna wash again by soaking in some bleach water to soften things up and dip in muriatic acid then rinse then let them dry - and if they still stink you will have to boil them clean. This process stinks to hi heaven so you're going to want to do that outside not in the kitchen! use a gas grill or plug in hot pot or something but definitely do it outside.
      Good luck that's not a fun process!

  • @victoriaolsen5726
    @victoriaolsen5726 3 місяці тому +1

    Boiling them!! 😖 yeah I've tried everything else but that! Thanks for the tip! Btw, LOVE your beaded medallion. Saw your vid showing you doing that, hoping to work on something like that soon someday. 😎

    Michelle, yes, I would like to find out what's going on with all the sea life washing up dead. I live in New Jersey, and we had way too many animals last year wash up here on the East Coast. And yes, as you mentioned, we are already having more, not good.
    On a positive note, I saw they saw a live whale up off Nova Scotia that hasn't been seen in 200yrs.

    • @echouebijoux
      @echouebijoux  3 місяці тому

      I have heard a few theories but without a bunch of research i won't have clear answer. I will be reaching out to a few folks and seeing if they will share their thoughts.
      There was a huge wash in over in the arabian sea of shrimp recently i believe too... not sure what happened there but millions washed up
      Meanwhile, the results for this whale will take weeks so we won't have answers very soon for this one. I will update on this though when there is more information.
      And that's good news about that whale! we recently had a GPS tagged one pop up close to Anna Maria Island - so that is a good sign at least :)

    • @echouebijoux
      @echouebijoux  3 місяці тому

      weird, I replied and it disappeared! OK lol... attempt 2!
      I really didn't have much for paint around here when i was doing that project ... lots of bright things with pearl shimmer and a white glitter paint lol! I have since picked up some neutrals :D
      but using the ribbon worked well too because then i didn't have to wait for it to dry - and man i spent a lot of time waiting on paint drying with Jasmine/Abundance project lol! but yes if you have time and paint, its a wonderful option! very custom cool!

    Wow...such cute crafty projects with the shells! 😊 Just wondering where you find the cords, if you will, that you use for the necklaces that has the easy connectors?
    Also, any suggestions on what to use around a wide wrapped bale for a necklace? I have done a few that I may put a bow on for an ornament, but then there are a couple I would like as necklaces! I haven't quite got the wire wrapping thing down yet and in particular the bale part! Love all the shelling shows you do and all the great information! Blessings! Any shells you don't want or need just send them my way! 😊

    • @echouebijoux
      @echouebijoux  3 місяці тому

      I haven't done a ton of wire trapping here on the channel but I usually stick to 16 ga 18 ga and 20 ga for most jewelry stuff as far as wire size unconcerned. I use mostly copper and brass, and occasionally sterling silver altho it has gotten crazy expensive... i had some stuff i wire wrapped after the Peace River adventure when we found sharks teeth though... will see if i can point you to a specific spot in the video...

    Hello, New subscriber here from Idaho! Our family vacationed in FL last month and I brought back an insane amount of shells. Some gorgeous and perfect and some beautifully broken. I am a picky crafter and I am very impressed with your work, but what I really want to know how you did that Jasmine nightlight? 😍

    • @echouebijoux
      @echouebijoux  3 місяці тому

      I videoed the process but it will be a few weeks before i get to it editing wise - I have some amazing shelling adventures to share first!
      and Jasmine was a bit difficult - since i had never made one before, i was sort of designing on the fly lol - i would call her an advanced project ;)
      And PS welcome to the channel I hope you're enjoying! There is a video i did around christmas time that was pretty cool, made an ornament, a small shadowbox, and a set of lights that are super fun.
      There is also a playlist for jewelry, and another for making non jewelry stuff if you're interested in more crafty fun! :D

      A number of beaches throughout the area have loads of kittens pays on them :)
      Specifically in this area, LIDO KEY, LONGBOAT KEY at the Broadway Access, FORT DESOTO and PASSAGRILLE would be places i would recommend for kittens paws. There's usually some at Venice, Caspersen, Manasota Key Beach, Nokomois and Stump Pass State Park, and we saw some at Gasparilla Island when we went down last fall too. They are literally all over the place around here... like the coquinas and cross barred venus clams :)
      if you really get stuck and can't come up with enough of them to make this, email me and we will figure out a way to get ya some!
