Michelle & John: I just recently found your videos, and I love them. I'm a shell nut, but I live quite some distance from the Pacific Shoreline. I grew up on the ocean, and Ohhhh, how I miss it; watching your videos takes me right back to my days on the beach (I can even imagine the salt air & surfing that next wave 😊). Thank you for taking us all along on your shelling adventures. Also, Gigantic Kudos to You & John: Though you clearly have disabilities, that does not stop you from doing what you love. I'm also disabled, but it doesn't stop me (except on really bad high pain days). Anyway, if there IS a will, then there IS ALWAYS a way. We've got to feed our souls (you both are talented creative people [I'm a watercolorist]), and we MUST feed our creativity - it's who we are ❤ Keep on shelling, and I'll keep on watching. Many Thanks, from Sacramento, CA. ⛱️ 🐚 😎
High Five! Thanks so much, and I am glad that you found the channel!! I always hope that my videos will make people feel like they are right there at the beach with us ...and that they will feel empowered to take that walker or cane out to the beach or nature and get out there too :) playing outside is definitely good for the soul :) i actually get cranky if i dont spend enough time breathing salt air and getting splashed :D
It's a real pleasure to watch you and John's shelling adventures. You're so positive, warm and knowledgeable. I hope you were able to take it easy after an epic amount of post storm beach updates and all that shelling. Thanks for your hard work. I enjoy these long chatty videos. They keep me company. 😊🐚❤

Oh Michelle this was an adventure! I am a huge fan of bay scallops. You found so many beautiful ones! Can't wait to see what gorgeous creations you make with some of those. I love the angels you make. Thanks for taking on a shelltastic trip!
you're welcome! I promise I have a creative video coming soon too! But this week i am in crunch time completing things to take to the show this coming weekend no time to film it and edit it i just gotta make it all lol! so this coming weekend's video will likely be a new location and next weeks a creating video - with the holidays coming, I am betting people will want see how to make cool gifts with all their shell treasures :) and stay tuned to the comments tab on my page - because I will be posting a lil show preview of some of the goodies I've been making! :)
sure! i can explain quick here but i will try and post a "short" about those as well - bay scallops are much bigger and kind of less colorful. they tend towards white, brown, a rusty orange, cream, and sometimes grey. they get about 2-3 inches across. calico scallops are smaller, and usually much more vibrant. they come in shades of brick reds, cranberry, pinks, yellows, oranges, cream, peach, purple - a common color is white with pink or cranberry markings. they get about an inch-inch and a half or so wide. :) Hope that helps til i can whip together a short video! ;D And I am glad you're enjoying the channel!
Michelle I have the solution to your shoe dilemma. We just got back from a month at the beach in SC collecting tons of shells. Before we left I purchased new New Balance sneakers to replace ones my podiatrist recommended. I took the old ones and put my old orthotic inserts in them and wore them on the beach. Great support. The insole and the orthotic insert were both removable. I walked miles and miles both on the beach and in the water and they worked great. After each beach walk I just took out the insoles and orthotics and rinsed them along with the sneakers. Great support for both my ankles and my arches. Give them a try. And they did not fill up with broken shells. Just sand. Oh and I wore ankle socks to prevent chafing.
cool - i might have to give sneakers a shot... i was also considering those crazy vibram 5 fingers ones too... im such a beach bum that i hate wearing shoes at all lol... even when im not at the beach - i literally live in flip flops and barefooted lol
You make me Happy so warm and Friendly going tomorrow to PAG I hope it's a good time to go where is that Restaurant you go to there. This video is wonderful. Would love to take you to lunch one day.
Aww that's so sweet! The restaurant was Paradise Grill - its near where the hurricane is on the beach side of the road :) I hope you had a great time at PAG too and found lots of goodies - over the weekend, we were at the Tampa Fairgrounds at a show so i wasn't out at the beach despite the great weather for it! ...I will be sharing some footage from that in the near future and adding a few things to my shop from it!
I love watching you make the jewelry given me some ideas. I have been watching videos from Plum Island sea Cabin up in Mass. they have the biggest moon shells big as a baseball, beautiful colors, also scallops, oyster muscles blue coloring, beautiful stuff to make jewelry. All you would need to do is watch one and your eyes will pop out.
have seen some of her videos actually and they get awesome moon snails up there! might be e lil big for wearing - they get pretty heavy at that size lol! I have not had a chance to sit and really make stuff for video lately with everything we had going on around here but there will be a creating video coming out likely in 2 weeks or so - I have been editing our trip to shell key with Hubbards ferry on the day of the eclipse because we had insanely good dolphin spotting footage ;) but more creating is coming soon once i get past this show push, i promise!

they are such a pretty shell .... one of these days i am going to get my channel memberships started and the top tier memberships will be able to get shells shipped to them :)
They remade the sand dunes on the southern tip of the beach. The boardwalks are gone and we were allowed for a half hour but then the sheriff kicked us off
interesting... we were there the day of the eclipse - lots off folks out. the replanting of the grass on the dunes had not begun at that point. i have footage from that day, we found a bunch of cool shells there!
I was there last weekend and just today, as of today there isn’t a sheriff nearby anymore. It looks like they might be starting construction soon to remake the boardwalks, when I was down there it just didn’t feel the same without having to hit my head on boardwalks
