  • I filmed this video every day of November 2015 to document my process of writing a novel in 30 days. If you want to see my videos like this from previous years, check them out below:
    2014: • Writing a Novel in 30 ...
    2013: • Writing a Book in a Mo...
    2012: • The Writing Process - ...
    Also, I think the coolest part of this year's video is watching my green hair fade slowly over the course of the month.

    I'm kinda glad kinda sad to see someone else that got sick for like the first week of Nano. And after that I was so low on motivation that I only did ~500 a day which sat me at 10K the morning of the 21st. I managed to hammer out the other 40K words in the last week with less than ten minutes to spare. It still hasn't fully sunk in lol.

      This comment is three years old and will more than likely never be seen by you but I salute you for trudging through a massive 40k in a week. That's astonishing!

    These are some of your favorite videos of mine. I did one myself and it made me so happy to look back on it and see how my moods went up and down. Thank you for always being so inspiring. I wouldn't have done NaNo if it weren't because of you.

    ive tried to do NaNo in the past, but with university (at least in Canada), finishing classes in the last week on Nov (or the beginning of dec like this year) all of my papers are due in november. plus work, and coaching gymnastics my life is already busy enough.
    congrats on finishing your 10th novel! thats major insane (in a good way obvs)

      +Kristina Lang Would Camp Nanowrimo suit your schedule better? It's usually in April/June.

    • @kristinaalannah
      @kristinaalannah 9 років тому

      +B. T. Night i wish it did. april is the same as nov/dec, with end of classes and exams. and then i switch to full time at work, but i dont have a set schedule so i could work morning/day one day and night the next, then back to day shift (which is exhausting let me tell you). i also usually go to vidcon, so im enjoying that instead. i live a busy life haha

    • @BTNight
      @BTNight 9 років тому +2

      Kristina Lang Aww...
      Well, maybe 50k might be a bit much, but there's no reason you couldn't set a more modest goal and still participate. Even just 5,000 is better than 0. Last year I only made it to 8,000 'cause of hectic real life stuff, but it's still 8,000 more than I would've written otherwise...
      And the first time I did a Nanowrimo run, or an equivalent of it, I did it solo in May outside of any "official" one, and still got to 50k, which is still majorly satisfying (lack of winner's certificate PDF aside :P) so you could always just pick a month that suits you.
      Just my suggestions on it, if it's something you'd like to do. No reason it has to be November or April or June. No reason it has to be 50,000 words. You could just randomly have a KrtistiNoWriMo and pledge to write 10,000 words in August or something if you want; as long as you're setting some goal and sticking to it, it's well within the NaNo spirit.

    I feel you, I started bad, but unlike you (who had a real reason for not writing) I was just procastinating. This NaNo my aim was to give a 50k bust to my novel wordcount (which is currently 130,000 out of 160,000). Anyways, I also rushed at the end of the month. The feeling is a mixture of adrenaline and stress. It's great to be a winner! Congrats!

    You're one of the most committed writers and I also always think of your song when I update my count.
    I made it too, actually I kept on par the whole time and I still feel like writing.
    I suggest fan fiction, it is a blast to write because you have a source material that kind of keeps you on a course.
    That being said, my plot does not follow the fiction that I wrote my fan fiction about very well.
    I finished on the 28 as well, but kept writing, I'm at almost 52,000 now...and that's because of editing believe or not...lol

Weirdly enough seeing your word count was similar to mine during the month kept me going because I knew beyond a doubt that you'd win (you're the NaNoWriMo queen tbh) and if you could finish when behind I could too, y'know?

    This year was difficult for me as well! I had several none writing days, then my computer battery died almost crashing my computer... I had to wring out all my handwritten words to pull through this year.
    I picked up my last year nano project which was a bit hard and I only ended just passing my mod point to the novel... Which now has about 100k words (minus whatever the notes equals) which is crazy... That's high fantasy for you I guess. I really want this story to be finished at some point!
