I live in Plant City & am trying to teach my daughter about growing food, food forestry, good sovereignty, etc...I'm planning out a food forest tour of Florida & I'd love to bring my daughter & possibly my best friend (w/ his wife & daughter) to turn your farm sometime.
Look up Reid farm here on UA-cam. He's in deland. Aboutn1.5 hours from plant city and he has acres of food forest and his goal in life is to teach as many people as possible to grow their own food and live off their land. He has a nursery and will gladly walk you around his property letting you taste everything and tell you the benefits.
I just planted one in St. Pete USDA zone 10a ( nearly 10b because I'm close to both the bay and the Gulf, and because my neighborhood is densely vegetated, all which have an insulating affect. I'm also planting "stinking toe fruit" (very unfortunate name) The fruit smells sweet and malt-like to me. No stinking toe smell that I can detect lol.
Yes, the ice cream bean can take a good pruning. If you cut too much at one time though you may sacrifice some fruit production so keep that in mind. Happy Growing!

Interesting looking fruit. One I’ve never heard of before but would be interested in trying some day! Keep growing and posting. Stay blessed! GOD Bless ~
No seeds at this time. My tree took a hit from the freeze and I had to cut it back so no fruit this year. Hopefully next year I'll have some fruit an seeds.
I haven't read anywhere of growing from cuttings. I do know that the seeds have a high germination rate. Plant the seeds within a day or two after eating one of the fruits. Happy Growing!
Thank you for letting me know we live in Florida and I can plant and I hope you have some good ideas for to get a few plans to have a lot better
Thanks for watching. Good luck and Happy Growing!
Thank you for the video Mark! Glad that you’ve finally got to harvest and try this fruit. God bless you!

That is great. Your ice cream bean tree will thrive where you are located. I wish I was in a warmer zone. Happy Growing!
Question are you able to trim this tree and maintain it around 10-15 ‘

@@tropicalfruitman4394 , when was there last a freeze? What was your low temperature? Did it kill the whole tree back to the ground?
I need one of those trees
Jenes's Tropicals in St. Pete if you are in Florida.
i think i heard that the seeds can be roasted to eat...
That is correct, you can roast them in the oven and then eat them. I haven't tried that yet.
Can it grow from cuttings?
