Well done Jancis, lovely round. Enya's sister showjumped to Foxhunters totally barefoot after she went chonically lame with sesamoiditis. When she had her shoes off and her feet balanced properly she came sound.
Well done 👍. I hunt without backs and always go barefooted for the rest of the year. Back in the day it was common practice to rest the feet whilst turned away too. Good vlog ladies 😊
As with everything it’s doing what’s best for your horse and circumstances. As ever horses are a lovely shade of grey and not just black and white with management.
Well done! Great round, he's so keen. My aim is to keep my girl barefoot after this winter off....hopefully I will be able to do some low level eventing with her staying barefoot but it may dictate where and when I can do stuff but I think it will be worth it :)
Well done! Thanks so much for explaining what you could about the feet. I've been really lucky to be able to event barefoot safely up to the equivalent of BE100 here because of the great ground :)
A lot of farriers are good at maintaining barefoot horses. Edited to add that I plan to do very low level eventing barefoot. So small that he'll have to look down to see the fences. 😂
My big wish is that the farrier council actually stopped being so focused on shoe making and more on the foot and options for the horse with how trimming /and or shoes can help the horse physically. One day maybe 🫠
My farrier says shoes are a necessary evil and hooves adapt to what they work with. All of mine are barefoot although when I did a lot of roadworks they were shod. My ex racer is barefoot with no trouble and doesn't slip at all when jumping on grass etc
Well done Nova. He looked like he was enjoying himself ❤
Good video!
Thanks!

Thank you! Enya looks to have well shaped and super tough feet so 🤞

Can recommend scoot Boots but I'm a happy hacker so.... 💚☘️🇮🇪
I have been advised to ring Hoof Boutique who will tell you what will suit you and the horse so will do that in a week when Insey comes back into work

Thanks- I think he does genuinely enjoy himself, especially when it's nice and easy for him like this 👍 Good luck with your journey!
