  • My LG DLE230 dryer stopped working and it ended up being a fried circuit board… I fixed it for $18 (purchase of a soldering iron) instead of a $1000+ replacement! Check out this video, I hope it helps!

Same issue with my LG today. Followed your directions and works fine now. Amazing. Can't thank you enough for the tip on this one. I bought my soldering iron a few days ago for a different project, so this repair cost me zero dollars! Thanks again!

Well I can’t believe it. After searching 20 or more videos I came across this one. Our LG 2150S dryer died last Saturday and after viewing this video I found the exact same burn mark. Today I soldered the jumper and the dryer is now working. Great, great great…and thank you. I had figured the board needed to be replaced which is now obsolete with no substitution. EBay out of the US is $300 to $400 P.s. the soldering iron at Canadian tire is now $26. Cheers

    Thank YOU!!!
Though the same machine, and the particular circuit board was slightly different, we found the area which overheated with burnt through connection,
My son with much better eyes than mine carefully peeled back the laminate as your instructions. The broken connection was just a few millimeters, so we purchased soldering iron with soldering paste and carefully place the paste within the cutout of burnt lead and then touched the heated tip from iron to solder the connection.. He also utilized another tool to “smooth-out” things and then cleaned the new connection with alcohol.
Initially, I had looked up procuring the board to replace (which does not seem to be available,) and the C-Board ranged in price from $35 to $333!!
SO I REALLY NEED TO THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!

My LG clothes dryer failed - no response on the control board but the light inside the dryer drum still turned on and off with the door. Pulled the control board and sure enough there was a burn mark in the same spot as on your video. It took a little finesse to get to the lands as the circuit board had about 3/16" of conformal coating to cut thru to make good solder pads for the jumper wire. Works like a charm for less than 30 minutes work!!! Thanks for making this video!!!

Wow, thanks to this video, 15$ for a soldering kit on Amazon, an hour of my time and a quick UA-cam video to learn how to do a basic wire to board solder and PRESTO! The dryer works again! Thank you so much for this video, well presented With all the info and photos you saved our family $ and time when we really needed it! Thanks again!

My 2010 LG Dryer was doing same thing with light on with door open but dryer power not turning on. I tried this video and it worked!! For anyone that is not super circuit savy, you may want to find a separate video on how to solder. My burn mark was in same place and the "jump" worked perfectly!! Great video and cost me $0 because a buddy had all the solder stuff!!

Just want to say thank you! My dryer light on the inside would turn on but none of the control panel or power buttons were working. Same issue as your board, the track next to the yellow plug was burnt leaving a gap on the path. Followed your steps and it's back and working again

I'm about to try this. My 2 month old dryer just decided to take a little break and instead of turning on and drying, it just gives me a little chime acknowledging that yes, it realizes I messed buttons, but it doesn't feel like working anymore. I'm about to take this thing apart and fix it, although, I feel it should still be under 90 day warranty.

Exactly this problem. The board on my unit was potted in rubber and I missed this on inspection. But it was bubbled up, I was able to bridge it with solder and also a short length of Cu solder-wick to really make a thick contact. Thanks Yul Guy!!!

Hey, great video. Our LG dryer was running and quit when I was drying clothes. There's power to the dryer, but nothing happens when I push the start buttons. I saw some videos that say it's the mother board. Now I'm confused. I'd hate to replace the motherboard and then find it's the other circuit board behind the control switches. I guess what I'd like to know, can you actually see a burn mark on it to know it's bad? Thank You and an awesome video!!

I am in a client's house and her dryer exactly like that stopped working. Her power button is kind of stuck in a little bit I'm trying to pop it out a little but you can't really push it at all. There is power to her dryer because if I turn the light on and off with the little button inside the door it works but I can't get the damn thing to turn on

Hi Ernesto. Point A is not the burnt area, you have to find a spot after the burnt area (point A) and somewhere before the burnt area (point b). The idea is to jump over the burnt area but make sure it’s in the same track. I hope this helps!

    • @yulguy-teslatechdiy1509
      @yulguy-teslatechdiy1509  3 місяці тому +1

What do you mean by connection points? Think of the circuit track as a bridge with a hole in it (burn), so you have to connect another bridge (wire) before and after the burn. This way the current is carried through the new connection/bridge. Hope that helps!

My DLG2302W was burned in the same spot. Soldered on a wire like your video suggested and it worked like a charm. Has your fix held up? Any idea what causes the burn? Could it be caused by a faulty “sensor dry” system?

Awesome and glad it worked! Yeah mine is still working well with no issues. Hi. You’re just creating a jumper wire on the same track where you see the burned spot (the jumper wire will connect point A to point B via soldering). At the moment, since the board is burned in a specific area it’s not connected so we simply “reconnect it” using a jumper wire. Hope this helps!
