    Thank you for this video. My wife was about to order a new dryer tomorrow. I found this video and disassembled my dryer, and it was burnt in the same place as yours. I ran a jumper, and it's working again. Again, thank you.

    Well done. I searched and search for someone who had the same problem and here I found it. A couple minutes digging through the goop that they put in to prevent honest troubleshooting and repair by the little guy, then scrape the trace clean and solder in a jumper.
    My LG Drier is a DLEX2501S, but it has the same board and the same problem. You would think that they would have built in a fuse instead.

    We had the exact same burned spot on the circuit board of our LG DLG2051W from 2007. I followed your repair, and it's back up and running. THANK YOU!!!

    Been staring at the PCB for an hour and didn't spot the crispy bits. Once I saw your video, I zeroed in instantly. Mine wasn't as burned as yours but was exactly the same spot.

    Thanks for the video. I find a same problem with my LG dryer DLE2301S. Now it fixed thanks to you!
    It is, definitely, problem of PCB design. The conductor burned in the narrow area near connector.
    It happened for different dryers using same board.
    LG have to take responsibility for this failure.

    Just want to thank you so much for the video. Just followed your video step by step and cost me about $10 to fix my wife’s dryer vs about $150 for a new/used mother board. Awesome job and great step by step video and I’m very happy I found your video! Thank you again!

    Huge THANK YOU! It’s not just the cost of new part it’s the time that was not waisted and inconvenience averted. Try to find that darn part on Sunday morning! Dead on the same “sweet” spot. Thanks to you clip the dryer working again in a short while.

    Same issue here! One quick thing ... I made sure to use a 14AWG cable to fix, because clearly this is a current issue, and the wire going into the connectors above are 14AWG.
    Harder to solder, but worth it if it reduces fire hazard.
    Sending you some cash!

    I want to send a big thank you your way. My dryer showed a failure in exactly the same spot and I used your technique to repair it and now it is working, again, as it should be.

    Hi buddy, thanks for your video. I have an LG DLEX3700V dryer that's giving me the error code TE1. I looked it up online and found that it might be a bad thermistor. I ordered a new one (model 6323EL2001B) and replaced it. I measured the resistance of the old one, which was about 8K ohms, and the new one reads around 10.8K ohms. From what I found online, the normal range should be around 11K ohms, so I think the new thermistor is fine.
    I also tested the round thermal fuse you mentioned in your video, and it reads 0.04 ohms, which seems normal. I took apart the vent and cleaned everything, inside and out. There’s no dust or blockage near the two sensors. After reassembling everything, I double-checked all the connections to make sure they're tight. I also measured the resistance at the yellow and blue wires leading into the control board, and it shows around 10K ohms, which means the connection to the board should be fine.
    Once I put everything back together, I reset the dryer by holding the start button for five seconds while it was unplugged. But when I powered it back on, it ran for a few seconds and then showed the TE1 error again. I tried restarting it a few times, but the TE1 error keeps coming up.
    Do you think this could be a control board issue? The board is pretty expensive, so I don’t want to buy one without being sure. Could you help me figure out how to use a multimeter to test the board and what kind of readings I should be looking for to determine if the board is bad?
    Thanks for your time, and I really appreciate any help you can offer!

    Very helpful, especially since my dryer had exactly the same damage and replacement boards are no longer available, that I could find. Your repair worked perfectly for mine as well and I hope it lasts as long as the dryer has to this point .... 10 more years! Thanks much, my wife now thinks I can repair Anything, LOL! I did give credit to your post though.

    About to do this fix. I wonder if this poses some risk of the unit not turning off if in case it overheats?

    • @videomomo
      @videomomo  3 роки тому +1

      The fix does not interfere with the protection built into the unit by the manufacturer. It addresses the weak link in the board, but as always you do all repairs at your own risk.

    What is the best way to remove the silicone to expose the contacts? Will any copper wire work for the soldering connection?

    • @videomomo
      @videomomo  4 роки тому +1

      You can use a sharp utility or exacto knife to cut a rectangle in the silicone, just be careful not to cut into the board. Any copper wire will work, you just don't want it too thin. You also need soldering paste to get the solder to stick to the wire and the copper on the board.

    On my dryer it’s showing CL so I clean the lint basket but CL won’t go away can’t get it to start is there anyway I can clear that off

    • @videomomo
      @videomomo  2 роки тому

      CL is usually the Child Lock indicator, which locks the control panel. If you are unable to turn it off and all the buttons work, the control board may be damaged. Check out this video on how to enable and disable the Child Lock: ua-cam.com/video/9q0HnmrfzUQ/v-deo.html
