Imagine my surprise when searching for a hack to make Microfreak play samples and I discover that Arturia came out with this unexpected firmware update.
Is it possible to set the tonal centre and tuning of the samples? It seems like the sample is always mapped to middle C, but not all samples are middle C.
This is unbelievably awesome... but when is the firmware going to drop? I'm still seeing "Soon Coming", and thought all the other major firmware drops were basically live upon announcement? Seeing comments elsewhere the full drop comes May 30th
I could do a video about how I record. I record my voice using a Shure mv7 connected by USB to my iPad and the MicroFreak is recorded in my iPhone 12 using a Roland Rubix 2x2.
@kierenmoore3236 I mean’t the sample and granular section is not limited to 2 notes paraphonic playback, it can play back 4 notes. Still it goes into a single filter and a single VCA.

its funny how youtube bloggers are rushing to post "explaining" videos while ordinary users have no possibility to test it on their own (so what is the purpose of these videos? to watch it and forget everything when 30th of may comes?), and should solve arturia's riddles when the firmware is coming - no even clues about 30th of may on their official site
For what I understand, Arturia was suppose to release the firmware on the same date as the announcement, but for stability reason they decided to postpone the release date. It’s better to release a stable version instead of multiple updates…
Arturia has a special place in their heart for the microfreak.👍👍👍
Saved to watch it later, i'm obsessed with this new update hahaha ☠☠
Very apt video description of the ver 5
Brief and to the point, perfect prompt to instantly implement results 👌👌
Thanks for your very comprehensive overview!
Wow, I didn't see that coming ! This morning I was looking at the Microfreak and thought it was over since the release of the big brother. Nope!
Got to love a compagne that keeps on giving more to their already existing hardware!

Yes, its the 30th in irder to iron out some bugs
Please this on the minifreak.
It seems to me that the Minifreak did not get the same update/new functions.
Yeah it's crazy :) But I think Arturia will do that really soon !
@@-zoave-. Lol … … …
Meanwhile us mortals have to wait till the end of May😢 great review thanks !!
It seems Arturia wants to be certain the released version has a minimum of bugs. I can only salute that. ( I was using a beta release)
Why can't they do sample additive re-synthesis rather than granular
Let’s try to suggest it to Arturia
@@Nu-trixI just did on their old video

5 days to go , did you have a drink tonight? Lol ... Counting down to when we mere mortals can get their v5.
So with the polyphony of 4, is there any way to layer multiple sounds?
No, it’s still a monotimbral synth.
They need to get polychaining in the next update
Great thanks, one question please ,your videos have super sound what soundcard record for you use ?

I thought it was 210 seconds (3.5 minutes) … ? And Paraphonic doesn’t mean two-notes (that would be duophonic) … ?

@ I know what paraphonic means; thanks anyway.

Nice, good for Arturia, was about time, I have a question: when I select some samples the arp. light turn on and Is no sound can you help me ?
Try to turn all the knobs?
stellar edition , works on my m1 mac os 12 Monterey , ? can you midi control the start and stop grain time and control in abelton automation?
It should work. The wave knob is controlled by CC#10, timbre by CC#12 and Shape by CC#13.
