And yeah, lol, she handled that better than most would have up there with Ed, never mind up in from of thousands of people. She did great, even sang the final verses with him without sounding out of sync. I love the way he lets himself flow & dance to whatever song is playing. Same way I'm always been. Would have gladly been up there rubbin' backs with my favorite Wild Man to this hard driven foot stompin song. :D
Interesting. But in temporal matters people (usually elite) have the powers and afterlife marches to a different anthem. During life people have the power - hopefully conservative.
Patti wrote this with her husband Fred Smith. He was the guitarist and songwriter with the legendary Detroit band MC5.It's a great song.Don't forget Fred.
Missed this one here in buffalo for a very strange reason... But FOR SURE people have the POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THIS SONG CERTAINLY WAS THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)
this is from their bootleg albums from '03. you can find the audio of this on itunes, and as someone else said, the girl's name is nina. in an encore part of the album or perhaps the end of another song he asks her on stage because he needs a hand (a human word sheet holder)
I remember this show and her! Pretty Awesome!!! Was wondering if anyone has or know of someone who has the video of this song and improv form the Albany 2003 show? I have been looking to show my kids. I was the human music stand from that show :)
Normally I wouldn't trust anyone to cover my Favorite Patti Smith song. But with her knowing these guys as we do, but more so, she knew they'd have the power to give it the same strength that she does & that it's meant to have. I still love her version more, but was loving this powerful cover too. As usual PJ out do themselves again. I've only heard them fail with one cover, but am not going to say what it was, rather forget that ear piercing but hysterically laughable mistake. lol
2021 and this song couldn't be anymore accurate in today's world
love Eddie's pure power matched by Patti's pure poetry..
What a great moment thanks for sharing.
Un pezzo immortale, una grande band ed una voce pazzesca...Se non è la perfezione, s'avvicina davvero molto!

They covered Fortunate Son. :D
Who is the young lady on stage?
Yep. By "creedence" I thought you meant that they should cover Creedence Clearwater Revival. xP
Who is that girl? Just some random fan?
No se sabe la letra .But I don't care .I know People have the power .We have the power
Who that girl???
who is that girl?
haha @towercraneman
Kind of embarrassing that he needed someone to hold the lyrics for him to read. Ignore that. This cover rocks!
