OK so I did this with a 44 second clip. Using Intermediate it took 8 minutes 11 seconds, 1.84 gigs and it rendered it in MOV format. Using AVC/AAC it took 2 minute 28 seconds, 527MB and it rendered it in MP4. The clip again was 44 seconds long and was 4096X2160 59.94 fps. I'm not getting the same results as you!
I am rendering a 5 hour long 4K video right now, I would be scared of the file size of intermediate lol. Though using H264 with NVENC it is slower than I thought only about 60fps render speed on my new rig, so while it's encoding I found this video to see if there was a better setting. My CPU is only like 3% so I feel like Vegas could boost the encode speed by using more CPU, but if I choose the standard option it wont use the GPU so it would overall be slower I am sure. I will have to test myself once this is finished and see.
Thanks for the explanation, it's very informative. I used these settings in Vegas 17 for a 23 seconds video. It didn't take much time on a 3.4 GHz and 32 GB of Ram and the video ended up less than 0.5 GB. but it couldn't be uploaded to Instagram neither Facebook story! Also it could only be played on VLC on a Win 10 PC. However when I tried the same procedure for a 12 min video it took my laptop about 3 hours to render a 17 GB .mov file which luckily could be uploaded to UA-cam but unusable every where else!
Seems more indepth than the last one you did or atleast the options have changed or I understand more something different but I prefer this video to the V17 4k video
I have a 3840x2880 video in a 2160p project, 24fps. The MAGIX INTERMEDIATE format/template does not appear in my list. Any reason why? VP18 (527) Win10 21H1 NVIDIA GTX 1660ti Purchased Nothing on Google
For some weird reason Vegas 18 (and now also 17) is not showing me none of the nvec options or Sony XAVC codec :/ Do you know how to make them appear back again?
Any chance for some tips on how to get this software to use my crappy nvidia 980ti to help render? I've wasted hours trying to get this working with zero success. Best luck I've had so far is vegas 13 crashing when selecting the "check gpu" button.
Hey Scrappy, I recently shot some video in 4K 60fps. I would like to edit and render it in 1080p with Magix Vegas Pro 18. Is there anything special that I need to do besides just rendering as 1080p?
Nope. You should be good to go and your quality will be really great. If you haven't already, I recommend checking out my Voukoder video. It's a 3rd party encoder that allows for amazing quality renders that are faster and smaller than VEGAS' standard renders.
Any idea why when doing 23.976 FPS (film quality) Vegas 18 seems to go right to 25 ,, it’s been so annoying if I want the intentional frame rate and can’t do it.
i recently set my go pro hero 10 to 4k 4:3 which is 4000 by 3000 pixels... in vegas pro it wont render that, when I try to custom the file size to 4000 by 3000, then the final render auto matically goes to 3504x 2624, which is 30% lower quality... fucking annoying that it wont let me render on its origanl file size which is TRUE 4k 4000 by 3000 aka full frame size of the go pro... of course the 8k & 5k settings are limiting poo as no custom options work on it
awesome video but i have a problem, i dont have the option Intermediate :( EDIT: found it. its under "Apple ProRes" and then i have the options like in your video.
Hi, Just used your Apple Pro Res settings and for same file rendered under MP4 2.7K 25fps file size was 1.9gb - Same file using Pro Res was 22gb ?? OS Win 10 I7 CPU Nvidia 1060 Video/GPU
Yeah this tutorial is officially outdated since the recent updates. I recommend trying out these render settings: ua-cam.com/video/3N4la4lLUfo/v-deo.html
question. so i finished rendering my video using the same settings you said to set up for 4k...it renders much faster than it normally does but when i watched the .mov video file, it was laggy and jittery. Its like going at 20fps...even though its set to 60 fps 4k. my pc is RTX 2080 and AMD 3700x 16gb ddr4 3000mhz ram. Please let me know what I can do to make it work better.
@@MontaneroPaisaMontanero yes i changed the file type. I forgot which one. Im currently out of town for awhile and dont have access to my pc. But try out the different file types with 4k. Goodluck. If you cant get it then lmk. I will get back to you as soon as i get home.

Tried this, and it says my 5m40s video's estimated file size is 315GB. Took 20 minutes to render on a 2080, and luckily ended up under 5GB.
Useful comment is useful. Mine was saying it would be 935GB for a 14min video in 2.7k.
I was here for the same thing... Hitting the render button now. =)
Mine was listed at 480GB and rendered at 17... Whew. Does everyone else end with a mov file?

For those of you wondering where MAGIX INTERMEDIATE is in VEGAS PRO 19.0, now it’s called "APPLE PRO RES"

3:43 what profile should we use if we are rendering stuff like from video games? and not real life footage
