I like how in some versions the other characters react shocked while in others they are silent
Dutch: "Niemand heeft om jouw mening gevraagd. Smerig modderbloedje."
A quite literal translation from English however the Dutch translator (Wiebe Buddingh') did afford himself a bit of linguistic freedom in translating "mudblood".
"Modder" = "mud" and "bloed" ="blood", however the "je" suffix turns this into a diminutive, denoting something is little. In Dutch the usage of those is quite often used in order to make something sound insutling. The fact that "Mudblood" was already an insult that suffix makes it even more insulting than it already was.

Una traduzione di merda, in realtà. Nell'universo di Harry Potter, c'è una differenza enorme tra il trattamento che ricevono i mudblood (i figli di babbani, discriminati) e gli half blood (mezzosangue tra babbano e mago, non discriminati: persino Voldemort è un half blood).
In italiano entrambi sono stati tradotti col termine "mezzosangue", generando più confusione che altro. Hermione non è una mezzosangue, ma una figlia di babbani.
I thought "mezzosangue" is "half-blood" (I'm learning Italian and "mezzo" means "middle" (that's where mezzo-soprano comes from, I'm a classical musician), and "sangue" is "blood", with help from French "sang"), when "Mudblood" is supposed to mean Muggle-borns

It's weird how in some languages there is no audible reaction from other kids.
Its funny that the dutch translation is word for word and the german one uses a different ordering of words, although both would make sense. Dunno why they changed the order for german here.

Slovaks totaly killed it with their translation, if I was a Slovak, I would better watch it with Czech dubbing which doesn't replace such words by random words like Sovak version.

@@Heitorns2I think that everyone has their own favorite dubbing that they consider to be the best. I love Polish dubbing, for its great translation and voice actors.
That's what they do :D they watch czech dubbed movies, because they don't have too many slovak dubbed movies first and second, their dubbing is shit :D

@@Pidalin After all, I wrote about the dubbing of Harry Potter. But well tough, I'll summarize the history of Polish dubbing for you.
Poland during communism was known for great dubbing, the so-called "Polish school of dubbing" was known all over the world (in dubbing circles, of course).
However, Polish themselves are not fond of dubbing (because it "takes them away" from the original film. And big picture Polish don't like everything Polish xD)
That's why (and to reduce costs) in Poland began to voiceover films (the same in the USSR and most of the countries of the Soviet Union).
After the fall of communism, only children's movies got dubbing (but this has been slowly changing for a decade now).
If you've seen a typical adult film on Polish TV, don't be surprised if it's with a voiceover. Polish are already used to it. And I know it's strange that there is only a male voice and no female voice, but that's what Polish are used to as well.
