- What?!? Hidden cash? Secret stashes of gold?! Could this hoarded house get any better?!
As we start cleaning up this stuffed house I start to make some more exciting discoveries!
What else will we find? Subscribe and watch the rest of this exciting real life treasure hunt and transformation series, as I clean out a hoarded house.
The man that bought the clothes should start a UA-cam channel to show us all the outfits & his sorting process. Please make sure he sees this!!
I also love to see actual items found like a haul. Marc show us in detail the items once out of the house & sorted.
I agree!!
I agree! I'd love to watch that.
If I remember correctly, In the Last video when he and Alex talked, It was mentioned he had 3 Etsy sites he was going to be selling this stuff on, and they were mentioned/linked.
He has 3 Etsy accounts he said he’ll get be selling it on.
@@sundance81677 PontiacDryGoods, NakedintheBowery, and something about optical. NakedintheBowery has a lot of vintage clothes.
The hallelujah song when you found that jewellery, 🤣🤣🤣
Your putting the clothes in bags I’m thinking “”If you only had time too check pockets
I know i would have been. It don't take to long just to feel the pockets.
Yessss!! I'd have been checking pockets and boots etc....Alex did find one box in a boot, but imagine all he missed!!
And the hat boxes, too!
wow.... right?
And in the books and magazines could have hidden money.
You made my day! “If you need a Physics book while sitting on the commode, you need more fiber in your diet!” 🤣🤣
Those empty Burberry and Tiffany, etc. boxes and bags have value. Do not throw them away! Thanks for taking us along.
That is exactly what I was screaming at my laptop LOL
YES! I just looked on ebay and people will pay forty dollars or more for ONE empty chanel box! There must be a couple of dozen Tiffany, Chanel etc. boxes in that house. Times forty bucks is at least a couple of hundred dollars!
And the Tiffany catalogs, too!
I was going to mention that. However, selling them can be a problem, Ebay won't let you. Heck they wouldn't even let me sell an Empty cell phone box. I could sell it with the phone, but not without.
It's super frustrating but it's obvious that Alex doesn't care. His friend even had to tell him that the vintage magazine rack had value. He's going miss out on so much value in this property. I might have to stop watching.
I binge watched the first 4 chapters of this, it is far better than any TV series cause it is real life!
Addictive knocked off 4 as well
@@ronswayne7621 I have seen 8 right now and I shouldn't because i have my own videos to edit!
have you seen the Potters House? That one is a good one too :)

This series is so strangely satisfying. I love seeing the rooms slowly cleaned and seeing relics of the past slowly recovered.
Me ,too.
Those hardwood floors are beautiful!

Making me want to clean out my house
@@GinnyC1961 I did..though it wasn't on the hoarder house scale. If they can clear whole houses I can clear a few boxes!
If someone had asked me if I would enjoy watching someone cleaning house, I'd have thought they had a screw loose. But I cannot stop watching! This is completely addictive. Thanks for including us!
Because it's more like exploring for treasure

When my mom passed and we cleaned up her home, many of her books and record albums had money in between pages and the record sleeves.
Same here. My mother stitched money inside the hem of her skirts, jackets. And she had a collection of empty jars in her garage. My mother was a child of war.
My neighbor left her collection of salt and pepper shakers to my mom.. They stayed in boxes in our closet for a few years, then decided to use a couple of sets for a big family Christmas one year. When she went to fill them she found rolled up $10 & $20 bills inside. After checking all of them it totaled almost $6,000. We were flabbergasted!

I’m so glad Han’s found Synovia! He’s such a sweetheart. He deserves a good woman!
Hans not Han’s. In his case his dad was danish and back when his father left Denmark Hans was probably a common name. Not many people are named Hans here today. Sorry to nit pick at your spelling of his Name but I thought... yeah something, sorry my brain has gone to sleep and have difficulty forming cohesive thoughts. Also it’s almost 2 am here.
My father's name is Hans, we are Dutch. The name was very common during his generation. The name is derived from Johannes (John).
After years of infertility, we chose Evan for name of our first son - I’d found its meaning listed as “God has been gracious.” Since then I’ve learned that Evan, like Hans, is derived from John. Ind, God has been gracious.
@@kwlloyd7 oh thank you for telling me this, I didn't know Evan had the same meaning, I love that name aswell!

I am rewatching in 2023 Alex your chanel is great.and you have the best friends.
You guys are what 2020 needs! The friendship is so pure and beautiful. Please like if you agree!
Yess this!!! Even in 2022!!
That room looked instantly nicer when the hardwood flooring was revealed, it felt warmer
As you dig through the rooms I occasionally see copies of familiar items that I once owned that are long gone. I think one of the reasons we are so fascinated with this journey is the nostalgia it brings.
She was an unusual hoarder in the fact that she didn't hoard nasty trash. Most clean outs have very few items that have not been destroyed by mold, mildew or animal droppings.
Also, with it being in Edmonton, it's a fairly dry climate with no rats. I grew up in that area.
I've also been impressed with the quality and number of sellable items. Definitely a rare find in these cases 😊
Makes me realize i dont need to buy so much. At the end we didnt bring anything
I have the same ice cream scoop that’s in the kitchen drawer and in a previous video, I saw a Campbell’s soup cup that I have two of. No disrespect to the previous owner, but I do not understand how anyone can hoard and live in a situation like this. I’m OCD with cleanliness and no mess.
glad to see Hans looking so well
He's gotten some meat on his bones now, looking healthy!
Should wear a backpack while you're digging to put all the good smalls finds in as you go
He needs a camera that’s attached to himself to free both hands.

My heart is pounding just watching those jewelry finds! Please do a more detailed recap of the jewelry at some point, some of us have never and will never see that much in the wild at one time. Just enthralling!
Completely
The owner really was good at grouping things together, it pleases me in a strange way.
She really was, which may mean that good jewelry is stored in coordinated good handbags.
@@IvyRoad I hope he didn't sell the contents of handbags to the clothes guy.
@@SwirlingSoul ya, I was wondering if they had emptied the shoes and handbags, she seemed to have traveled a lot and putting jewelry in shoes or handbags when you pack is pretty common
@@SwirlingSoul I hope not too! In a big way!
I cherish my pot from The Potter’s.House. How lovely that this is The Musician’s House. Lovely too, to see Hans and Zinovia together. Totally fascinating.
My 10 year old daughter heard Hans voice and came running in the room "IS THAT HANS????"
Sell those Tiffany boxes! They are worth a small fortune!
Alex just needs to video everything and then have his followers tell him what it all is! Easy research!
On the edge of my seat. I'm saying, "Check those suitcases!" She likely slipped some jewels in a dress pocket or in other boots.....ugh! Making me bonkers! LOL. Quite the adventure, for sure.
Yes, that’s what I do, put the jewelry I wear with a certain dress with the dress.....
How cute are Hanz couple ps he just makes me smile when I see him, bless
Both are so sweet. Perfect together.

Agreed, Hans and Zinovia are real treasures!
@@babawali3021 yes Alex is looking for treasure and there they are 🥰
I got a kick out of her reaction when Alex was teasing them about dressing the same lol
Marie Kondo looked at this house and took the nope train home.
Hahaha
You know when H and and Sanovia get there things were going to get done. They are hard workers. And Sanovia is a no nonsense gal. She doesn’t waste a minute. If she and I were in there it would be done in 2 weeks. The floors were so beautiful.
*Zinovia. Yes, she and Hans are really hard workers!
I Love Hans and Zenovia! 😍 They are amazing workers.
The house is amazing. The case for the camera you found at the end, is in the kitchen, where you found the other camera. ✌❤😃🙏
Wow Mary, you saw that and remembered it!!!!
@@barbfrank917 when he found it the 1st day, I was thinking the camera will turn up somewhere in the house.
Exactly what I thought.
I'm glad you mentioned the lady who lived this life with such flare and style. She was beautiful and interesting.
She was addicted to dressing up and shopping during her life and at the end, it over took her.
Looks like she was married but no children since no heirs. she and her husband were buying things to fill all their passions. His clothes and basement tools and toys. Her clothes, hats, bags and fabrics and shoe addiction. Obviously both were very creative makers in their prime. I hope you continue to honor them occasionally. Btw, she was very organized and meticulous.
My guess he died first. And as she aged, she stopped going upstairs and with no one to help her or look in on her, she just ran out of room and time. But she was surrounded by all the things she loved so well.
I'm fortunate so far to find more joy in purging my life than adding to it. (Btw, the fella who bought all the clothes got a huge hella deal)
Glad you popped back into my algorithm. But not glad your camera work is still so zoomed & shaky, I'm still getting motion sickness. Lol.
I was thinking same thing. That’s the harder part of watching but otherwise darn good programming!
Or a Go-pro
Wow! Hans & Zinovia are amazing!!
To plunge the sink you push down, seal the overflow, pull and repeat. Without covering the overflow you are just sucking in air with no pressure on the clog.
Was coming to comment the exact thing
That advise will work when Alex grows that third arm.
I tell everyone there’s a skill to plunging. 😊
Actually surprised he didn’t know that already tbh.
👍👌👏 Exactly what I thought instantly.
Best regards luck and health.
You'd be surprised how much of a market there is for vintage makeup
I had a good laugh when I realized the background music when Hans arrived was 'What do we do with a drunken sailor'
Don’t worry, Alex. The UA-cam revenues from this series alone will make a nice chunk of profit for you. ❤️
I appreciate the care and respect you’ve shown to the previous owner.
I totally agree with you, no one wakes up one day and says "today I'm going to be a hoarder".
I agree!
I’m new to the channel and I feel like I’ve hit my own jackpot!
I LOVE the name Zinovia and what an adorable couple her and Hans make!
You need to watch the potter house series. It's a hoarder house Alex emptied and renovated last winter. It was FANTASTIC! He's a very hard worker and a great family man! You only want good things for him and his family. He's also very entertaining to watch, especially during these dark days! He's a bit of light!
@@lisagrafton2529 I’m looking forward to starting that series tomorrow! Such an exciting find and a wonderful family! I find myself just rooting for him to find that next hidden treasure!
Alexander & Melissia, you have so many treasure hunters / antique lovers living vicariously thru your adventures.. Thank you for sharing them!
I seriously hope you went thru those papers, one by one, knowing how she hid money, and valuables in strange places. Pockets of clothing, and stuff in the fridge. And inside all those shoes. lol
Vintage Sears Wish catalogs from the 60s through the 80s are highly sought after in the toy collecting community , so you know. Actually any Vintage Christmas catalogs. Love your channel and your ethos!

That made me laugh out loud!
That was a Minnesota North Star hockey card you found. Check it out maybe.
I had to stop the video I was laughing so hard.
Not going to lie, I'm that person who's more interested in the cute bunny tin than the coins inside.

Yep, that's what I said.
I have a feeling that was one heck of a deal for that much vintage clothing and shoes.
there's probably 20 grand just in the shoes under the bed

@@mar-keaqualls2850 Hey now! that's his cash cow community.
Those Tiffany boxes sell very well on eBay, don't throw them away!
yeah, i am thinking some boxes might have been collected just because they are boxes with brands on them :)
I almost cried seeing the floor revealed.
I'm not sure what intrigues me more? The treasures or the wonderful people who so willing to help. I've always been fascinated by your videos more so cause of how you show your true authentic self. You carry such goodness about you. From just watching you handle the stuff in the house, and always reminding yourself that this stuff belonged to someone. You are an awesome son, husband, father, friend, etc. Much respect to you young man!
you gotta make friends with a vintage sewing dealer, someone to take all the sewing materials, patterns, magazines, etc. they're all so wonderful and could turn a profit!
Alex could start up an adjacent shop with a vintage seamstress, from all of his vintage sewing machine, forms, materials and magazines.
I follow a youtuber called Angela Clayton who buys, collects and makes garments from old sewing patterns. She is probable also in the market for vintage magazines and fabric. Drop her a line.
There are a few UA-camrs that do buy and use vintage sewing patterns. Also people buy up group lots of sewing patters then resell them.
Vintage patterns are for sale in a multitude of places on the internet. They bring in a pile of money. Buttons by the jar are cheap in Pennsylvania. Anywhere else in the US they are very expensive.
That was once a very beautiful house.
@@Smallpotato1965 i was about to comment about Angela Clayton she sells these vintage petterns online
I just love Hans!
Hans and Zinovia are a hard working couple!!! ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Principles of Log Measurements - I immediately thought of Josh! 🤗💕🦋
I feel like I want to be a dragon with a hoard of gold and jewels. When Alex finds valuables I am so happy for him and I want him to find more!
For the love of Pete, wear some gloves lol, we're getting the willies for you over here!:)
We should be used to it. :D
Seriously. Ew.
Really interesting to notice the immediate difference in the sound quality in the room with the carpets gone. She would have needed the rugs and carpets in there for the piano acoustics.
It's so fascinating to me how under all that chaos, there is an organization system. It is sad to think how anxious the owner of all that stuff must have felt about keeping her belongings close to her, so much so that it eventually got out of control and she basically suffocated herself with things.
Hans wore his Curiosity Inc. shirt. That was pretty awesome of him. I am really enjoying this new adventure.👍
Alex, you need a go pro with a chest mount!!!
My thought exactly. 😀
I've been trying to tell him. Or just put camera on Fri pod......
I suggested this on day one you're all so so right and I'm sure Alex has one but couldn't find the chest mount last time.
He has one he just never uses it 😅
Yes please...
Oh man, seeing all those old sewing patterns has me absolutely drooling. Depending on what they are, vintage patterns definitely hold value, particularly to those who do historical reconstruction. You should definitely put them all in a box together, they'd make someone's entire year!
Oh, that living room floor! Can you put something down to protect it, while you continue to work? It would be a shame to scratch of "ding" it!
“Well, that phone is dead to me now” 🤣🤣🤣
Seeing the frog containers in that bathroom makes me cry. I had a bunch of those when I was little. My grandpa bought me one every birthday, Easter, and Christmas. I wish I could find some again.
I am AMAZED two people could fill up their home with so much stuff!!
Have you ever watched a show called horders?
Makes me realize my office isn't as bad as I thought. But my stuff is all boxes from my cousins house that I am "slowly" going through after he passed.
It takes years, usually. Idk how old they were but I suspect they either grew up during the depression era or their parents did. Depression era folks keep everything. That’s just how they are. Many don’t buy this much stuff though. Seems to be a combo of shopping addiction and hoarding.
Later in the series Alex said when their parients died they moved all the contense of two more houses into this house ! and he said her father was a Tailor, that accounts for all the fabric patterns and sowing machines .
Makes you wonder who started it all? And whether the other person tried to stop it, or just accepted that's how it was gonna be from then on?
I absolutely love your openness, willing to share what you paid for it, and how much you're making. Makes us feel like friends. Also think it's wonderful you take the extra steps to leave the house clean, like removing the carpets. Very generous of you.
Yes the wood floor is beautiful!!!
That floor is gorgeous! Worried it will get scuffed in the clean out now - not sure why Alex had to take off all the layers if fbde really were five layers of carpet - you would think the last layer would be clean enough to work over the top of.
"Top pocket find" Love the Oak Island references! I would love to be able to do what you do! My problem would be having to examine Everything! It would probably take me months rather than weeks like you do!
I'm fascinated with who this woman was, to me that's way more interesting than how much money you found or what it's all worth. She seemed so unique!
A seamstress or costume maker for Broadway or the stars?
Apparently the family don't want her named but in the last video there is a photograph of her in a fancy 70-80's dress. Very pretty lady, just sad she ended up buried in stuff.
I wish, without naming her, they could delve into her history a little bit. And I agree, I imagine she was so much more than a handful of gold or money. I enjoy these videos but I don't enjoy that aspect of it.
@@karenkoe7096 I wonder if she was a costume designer for stars. She obviously had money to buy all those items, but maybe some of the jewelry was gifted to her.
@@classicambo9781 did she live alone? If so, for how long? Not sure if I missed any details.
I hope that Melissa will be going through all the jewelry on her channel. It would be a fun video to watch.
I’d check the seats also. I university couple bought and old leather 2 seater lounge. They found it lumpy. So they got the seat unzipped it and found thousands there they also found a deposit slip and were able to return it to the lady in a retirement village. She’d forgotten she put it there. 😀 A friend new her mum pup money in her coats. She forgot about it and it went to charity. Some got rich. 🙃
Alex, this is someones life you are working on, and i love how respectfull you are, not mocking them or calling stuff "junk".
Love you videos, keep it up.

Hans & his companion are such great people!😘😘
In thrift, we call the dumpsters, pallets, boxes, bags, tape etc "equipment". One kink in the chain can really throw things off but you learn to be very creative and to change gears fast. Even with a huge warehouse, you have to be able to pivot while waiting for equipment and you are very successful because your attitude is exactly what it should be, you roll with the punches and just problem solve on the fly. Brings back memories!

The only down side to all of this for him is the fact if those clothes were all her size.....judging by the size 5 shoes they found, it will all be tiny sizes. If he ships internationally though they will do well in the Japanese market. Doesn't apply to the handbags and hats though, so those will still be very marketable anywhere.
