  • Today took a drive over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in MD. The original span, opened in 1952 and with a length of 4.3 miles (6.9 km), was the world's longest continuous over-water steel structure. Also did they take the tolls away or something? Because I never saw one heading westbound. I put my gopro on the hood of my car with the suction cup mount.

I live in Bmore. I use to be that person that would drive the bay bridge in the right lane to look over the side while I was driving & had to look once I was at the highest point. But as I've gotten older, I don't think I could do it now. I'd rather do that bridge, rather than the old hatem bridge on rt 40 going from Harford to Cecil county. That bridge has to very narrow lanes & eventhough it's only about a 1 mile bridge maybe 2. it freaks me out. It use to be like metal u would drive on & it made your car shake/not steady & lanes werent only narrow, but u had not even barely 6 inches to make a mistake. What scared me the most was the fact that if u get in accident your basically going off side of bridge. My biggest fear is other drivers because if they make a mistake basically your dead because your car is going off side & it's to high up to survive & the wind is another issue with the hatem bridge. But now that bridge is all concrete & I didn't know that & thought it was a diff bridge & went over it right after snowstorm in Jan & wind was blowing ice up onto the bridge as I'm driving & I started having a panic attack n almost stopped in the middle of the bridge because ice was about to hit my windshield n cause an accident. I get premonitions now so I can't do bridges. I predicted a bridge going down 5 hrs before our bridge here in Bmore. The Francis Scott Key bridge. Devastating. Went down in literally seconds. Just sad. Still 6 missing. They found 2 & 2 people luckily weren't om vehicles & made that drop & swam. But I cannot do bridges now at all after that. That bay bridge is 6 miles & people have jumped off side sadly there is no chance to survive that drop so I could do it

I dunno, I think the Mackinac bridge is scarier, or the Garden City Skyway on the QEW into St.Catharines Ontario....avoid that one if you're afraid of heights.

All the tolls are electronic, so they have eliminated the tollbooths

Yes, just about every state has gotten rid of the toll money takers. Thank you for watching.
