It might be the nature of the StampingUp Stamping Blend markers, but I had good results with 70% alcohol and Arteza blend markers, and with Sharpies fine point markers. It is what I had on hand. Some areas on the paper look like I actually heat embossed on the vellum with colored powders. But I didn't. I really like how it turned out. I will be doing more. Honestly, I have never even seen the 90% alcohol in our pharmacies in IL....so, I'll use what is handy. Very happy with the results.
I just tried this technique on vellum I had on hand from one of the craft stores. It did not work at all--the vellum curled up and the color was absorbed into the vellum and did not move much when I sprayed it with 91% alcohol. I'm placing an order today for quality vellum with my Stampin' Up representative.
Hi! I have not tried this with water based markers, so I’m afraid I can’t answer your question. Thinking you would want to use water though rather than the alcohol in spritzer if you try it. Thanks for watching!
Hi Linda. I use Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers by Stampin’ Up. Yes, once I color on the vellum with the alcohol markers, I spritz with isopropyl alcohol from the spritzer. Thx for watching!
I love how those colors work together as they blend into one another! Very beautiful card!
I like your color choices and card layout outs.
amazing technique! i love the first one you made! keep up the good work!
Amazing Thankyou. So much less messy than using the bottles like I do
The one you liked the least, I liked the most
Very cool, I like the “hard” edges-reminds me of marble!
Third in a row of vids on this topic; wonderful to listen & watch you/work & play in such a gentle tone. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for watching.
Funny, the one you like the least, is my favorite! Different strokes for different folks!
LOL! So true! Thanks for watching, Debbie!
Wow! Very cool cards. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked the cards!
Thank you for sharing 😀. While the glossy area is still sticky, you could adhere gilding flakes for a luxurious effect 😀🤓🤗🙏
That's a great idea!
beautiful
I like that ‘indent’ where the ink meets.

Have you tried moving the ink by blowing through a straw rather than the heat gun?
Hi Peggy - I’ve seen that technique but haven’t tried it. Thanks for watching!
Pretty! Would this work with water based markers? Thank you.

Thank you, Imwill give it a try.
I love that idea.
Glad you liked it, Judy. I can't take credit for coming up with the technique, but I enjoyed sharing it with my viewers!
What kind of markers are you using? Are they alcohol markers, to which you then add more alcohol in the spritzer?
Hi Linda. I use Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers by Stampin’ Up. Yes, once I color on the vellum with the alcohol markers, I spritz with isopropyl alcohol from the spritzer. Thx for watching!
@@foggybonnet1026 OK! this makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.
Make your own alcohol inks with the isopropyl alcohol, no need to separate
Paint a little black dot where you nozzle is on your spritzer. Keep from spraying on wrong direction. (Ask me how I know 🤔)
Great tip! Thx!
I don’t have these pens, would any alcohol markers work?
Hi! Yes, any alcohol markers should work.
Love this. Ty
i realize it is pretty off topic but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released series online?
@Remy Elliot Try Flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
@Terry Jefferson Definitely, been watching on Flixzone for since march myself =)
@Terry Jefferson thanks, I went there and it seems like a nice service :) Appreciate it !!
@Remy Elliot Happy to help :)
What weight was your vellum? Very nice technique. Thanks for sharing.
Hi! I used 65# vellum in this video. Thank you for watching!
