My goodness! How have I not come across you before in the 1000's of crafty videos I've watched? Those backgrouns are stunning! Thank you so much for this tutorial. Then, I was blown away by what you said at the end of the video. Glory to our Father, sister! New sub.
Thank you so much! I so welcome you to my channel and as my new crafting friend. I will always give praise to my Savior....it is all about Jesus and since I have this platform I will always give Him the glory He so richly deserves!!
Hi Kathy I’ve just come across you utube site. Way back I lived in Charlotte NC. Now living Australia. Loved your card and at 82 I’m still looking for new ideas.
That's amazing! I had no idea that technique would work on vellum. I've seen Tim Holtz do it with liquid alcohol ink on Yupo, and I assumed that Yupo was required. But I have a good supply of heavy vellum, so I'm trying this!! Thank you for eexperimenting and sharing your results here.👍🏻
I have enjoyed your video on how to work velum and aclochlo thank you again, also for the love and devotion you have for the Lord. My Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Bless you in Christ.
most of all i love your message. it is powerful and wonderful and your vellum is awesome. i didnt know about different kinds of vellum. sheesh. mine did what you showed not to do. so i will wait till i get my ssi and buy some. hope your day is filled with glory and wonder of Christ. tyvm you blessed me yay
Awww Sandy...thank you so much. It so blessed my heart to hear your words. I could do nothing without Jesus in my life. I am so blessed to be saved and headed toy heavenly home one day...but until then I will sing His praises and thank Him for His love & mercy!!
Barbara....these are so easy and so much fun to make. And all the possibilities are endless of what you can do with your vellum pieces after you make them. So many die cuts and strips, and circles and squares...oh my!!! have fun creating!!
Good morning, Paula! I have been to Wytheville more times than I can count throughout my life! Now, I’m living about an hour from Gastonia. It is always so nice finding good people so close to us! 🤗
@@NCJoMamaSC so nice if you to reply. Who knows, maybe one day we can meet in person. How long have you been stamping. Send me your mailing address so I can try to send you a card. I haven’t had a very good year. Fell in March, internal bleeding, med flighted to Roanoke, in hospital 5 weeks and they told my children I wasn’t going to make it but here I am. I am trying to get back into sending out cards, makes me feel good to think I’m cheering up someone’s day. Take care, stay safe and stamp. 💜💜💜
@@paulapruitt6109 bless your heart! That must have been some tumble! Glad you are still here beating the odds. Love it when God overrules the doctors! I have been scrapbooking and making cards since before it was cool! Prob 25 years or so. So many neat products now compared to way back when. 😊
I can see the endless possibilities of using these papers afterwards for backgrounds. By the way for those who might be as clutzy as I, do not spill the alcohol on that cutting mat it might take off the lines it also takes the lines off of clear plastic rulers Just a tip.
I watched your previous videos yesterday and decided to experiment today. I only had coloured vellum blue, green and yellow so used those. I sprayed my isopropyl alcohol then added Tim Holtz metallic alloys - gold and silver were best, the rose gold just puddled. . Oh my goodness, was I delighted with the outcome. Now I need to decide what to do with them. Thanks so much for your original idea.
Kathy, what a great technique for backgrounds!! I have not tried using vellum yet, however, will definitely give this a try! Love all the color combinations you used! Just beautiful!Thank you so much for sharing! Hugs and gave a blessed day!
Watched several different videos on vellum…. I think the trick to it not curling up is coloring the whole sheet. I have used card stock vellum , and it curls . I will try coloring the whole piece next time. Thanks for sharing 😉
Hi Kathy! I love this technique on the vellum and looks like alot of fun! I'm going to give it a try! I hope all is well with you and your family! TYFS! Blessings and hugs!💖
Hi Alice, thank you for your comment. As for the disclaimer...this is due to changes that UA-cam made a year or so ago to protect children. This is only to keep me in compliance with UA-cam.
Hi there . First thankyou for sharing this with us. I don't have a printer and i was looking for a video to show me how to color on vellum so I can stamp the images i want and i came across this. I love how they turned out. I wanted to ask you if you were using watercolor based markers or alcohol?
Lovely idea for creating backgrounds. Tried it out on a value pack of vellum from Staples with common markers. End result couldn't be better. Not sure why your "non-Stampin up" vellum did not work for you
Hello & thank you for reaching out to me. These Alcohol Markers are available in my online store with Stampin' Up. Here's the link randomactsofstampin.stampinup.net/ Thank you for your interest and I would be honored to have you as a customer.
Kathy, love this technique and the assorted blues are just beautiful. As a suggestion, Please don’t try to talk over the heat tool. It’s very hard to hear you which just makes it annoying.
Thank you for Standing up for Christ. God Bless you

Great tutorial Kathy
Wow! Beautiful cards.
great idea! to keep lightweight vellum from rolling maybe tape it down around all the edges like a watercolor project?
Thanks for the tip!
Can you use any type of markers….pit artist pens for example?
You can use a variety of different inks & markers but alcohol markers work the best.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful.

Alcohol.
Does it have to be 91%?
The higher the percentage of the alcohol- the more it spreads the alcohol ink.
You inspired me 😁
Hello from Clayton, NC
What GSM is this vellum?
I'm not sure if the weight. I used the vellum from Stampin' Up. It worked so much better than other vellums I tried.
Kathy, where do you buy the vellum paper?
She is a Stampin Up demonstrator. I order the card stock vellum. It is heavier and you can do a lot with it.
If you are interested in Stampin up vellum email me at kathy@randomactsofcrafting.com
I'll be more than glad to help you. Thanks so much.
