Correction: 08:28 - I found out this Olathe is actually made in Mexico and it's been discontinued. Most Olathe boots are made in Texas and many can be found at Atomic 79 more alternatives at discounted prices at jeremiahcraig.com/promocodes
Another alternative I'd recommend is the Red Wing Pecos. The welt is often plastic (depending on the model you buy) but it can be replaced and lasts quite a long time on its own. Great stuff as always, Jeremiah!
Loving this series JC ! I don't know of anyone doing these comparisons like you. Also gotta say, when conditions are too rough for my leather sole cowboy boots, I wear my Tecovas Banderas. I freakin' love em'. I know some guys have fit issues, but I wear 9D in all boots ( except Ariat Steel Toe Work Hogs, gotta go 9 1/2 D ) but I went 9D on my Banderas and they fit perfect. Who knows. You rock JC !
Loved this video, Jeremiah. It is nice to see an alternative to Tecovas. I see Tecovas following me all over the web. To be honest, they kind of annoy me the way they do that.
I am from Mexico and when I saw the great marketing that tecovas had I bought 2 pairs. And I was disappointed to see that they are the same as the ones you can buy in Leon Mexico stores for 50 or 60 dollars. It means that the factory price is 25 or 30 dollars.
Anything made of leather is cheaper in Guanajuato. Thats where it’s all made and if I’m being honest, the quality is much higher if you buy directly from someone who makes boots by hand than buying it from a U.S. company. Same with saddleback leather. I bought an identical one of their bags for maybe 100 American a couple years ago when their price is like 500+.
Since tecovas are made in Mexico and they seem to be great quality have you taken a look at CUADRA boots? Both made in the same place and is a top dog in Mexico. Maybe worth a comparison?
Hello jeremiah, I don't know the Tecovas boots, I only know the Dan Post and probably the Tecovas boots for resistance, it must be good for working in the garden or taking care of the maintenance of trees and hedges and others... "
I have 3 pair of boots. (2) Tecovas and (1) Ariat. Now I know Ariat was not listed in this video. I can say my Tecovas are far more comfortable. I can wear them all day. The Ariat are a rubber sole, but after a day in them my dogs are barking and is just throw them in the back of the closet. With that being said. I don’t wear my Tecovas out in the field. It’s now my go to office boot. If I need to do work in the field I throw the Ariats back on. I might look at one of these alternatives for field work in the future and ditch the Ariats.
The US made boots are great options and cheaper but a few bucks more for a better made boot is fine by me. I'll stick with my Tecovas even though it's a pain in the ass to get a good fit online. Order your size and ignore their fitting guidelines.
Mexico has some of the best leather workers in the world so getting boots made in Mexico should be a no issue thing, lots of stuff made in USA are junk and lots of stuff are great same thing can be said for China too.
I've owned leather lined and fabric lined boots and I HATE FABRIC LINED BOOTS. They have no redeeming value. They are hotter, swampier, smellier, and wear out faster.
I love my double H with the Ice outsole!

Nice
I actually found a nice pair of black cow/calf skin jtoe for$40. Made in Kansas!
I've had the Knox for a couple of months now and I'm liking them. They feel like my combat boots!
Another alternative I'd recommend is the Red Wing Pecos. The welt is often plastic (depending on the model you buy) but it can be replaced and lasts quite a long time on its own.
Great stuff as always, Jeremiah!
Bought 1155s a month ago
No plastic
Great boots
A wealth of knowledge man. I appreciate you taking the time to help us find these awesome alternatives.

What a Great Review Video. So Much Great Helpful Information. I like Double H American made Boots. Thorogood Wedge boot has a plastic Welt.
I have a set of Tacova Bandera. Tough great boot. I suggest you use a padded insert.

Got to love a good discount code

Haven’t seen The Dylan’s for that price. Last time I checked they run 300.
Made in USA is great but I love Tecovas isn’t making there boots in China (like some brands) or somewhere that isn’t known for handmade boot making.
Do you have a review on an unlined boot?
staff at circle B are real friendly too
"Can't go wrong with the I.C.E. outsole from Double-H" - you heard it here first, folks.
What do you know about a Mexican made called JB Dillon? In Pigeon Forge, Tennessee there are 2 stores where you buy 1 pair you get 2 more pairs.
What do you find in a safety toe western style boot? So far Double H and Boule is what I've tried.
Banderas are beast.

Great informational video!!
What boot could I buy that has a slimmer shaft like tacovas?
BNV and Fenoglio
@@JeremiahCraig thanks
Hey Jeremiah have you tried the double h jaison?

The midlands from Tecovas are for working in the fields.
what do you think of Reyme boots? I bought some ropers (crazy choco) and want to know if I made a good choice.
Jeremiah could give you his opinion but you are the only person who can decide what is a good choice. I am not trying to be offensive.
Olathe good pick in the real use category and price
Could never find a pair of Tecovas that fit me right.
I have a pair of Justin’s that are made in the USA and are best, most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned.
Justin JMax is another good one
I walk 5-7 miles a day at work on concrete and steel and also need waterproof so I've yet to find a good durable and comfortable boot.
What do you wear for a work boot
@@patrickpalomo323 I am currently wearing Twisted X waterproof square too. Actually not bad but I'm sure they won't last
Very Nice
Double h is the best imo

had some double H and they got destroyed in 6 months of welding in them.
I've owned leather lined and fabric lined boots and I HATE FABRIC LINED BOOTS. They have no redeeming value. They are hotter, swampier, smellier, and wear out faster.
Jeramiah, i feel like you're anti tecovas..
Honestly..... it s not expensive. You will keep those boots for more than 10 years. It last longer than any other sneakers !
The Bandera is uncomfortable to you cause you half assed the review by not getting the boot in your fit and second hand.
I'd love to review this again with my size but Tecovas half assed the boot in the first place bro
But I like made in Mex.
Olathe is pronounced “Olay-tha”.
Both work and several people say it either way
You buy quality with Tecovas
This didn’t age well… Tecovas and Quality do not belong in the same conversation anymore.
Lol. The Thorogood boots are garbage. I’ve seen to many people with busted stitching up the sides of the shaft.
I will never wear tecovas after my first purchase. Expensive, poor quality, poor sizing.
