The best part of your teaching technique is It doesn't let fall sleep , I can watch continuously 2-3 videos without being bored or exhausted. Thanks mate .
I have watched many UA-cams and yours is my very first post. I thought it was outstanding. First, I am ADHD so it really helps to repeat words and ideas three times over. Also, I am usually driving and can’t see the board so it helps immensely to repeat and give my mind enough time to create a visual image. You tone is emphatic and you possess vitality which makes to sustain focus. Thank you very much!!!!yvette
We covered a lot in this video Zach! I really thank you for sticking in there! I really hope you continue to have positive feelings and experiences with helping people to learn! Sweet Deal!
Small detail: I've read from several sources that the fibres for the pupillary light reflex bypass the LGN and project directly to the pretectal nucleus.
I am amazed the way u teach sir Its really beyond amy appreciation. You r just so phenomenal i can really watch ur 2-3 hrs long videos so easily in a fun just bcz u enjoy teaching. Thanks a bundle huge respect from pakistan
I love your videos, thank you so so so much for them. Do you have any full images of the diagrams on the white board, so we can print them off, and revise from them?
If I have seen this 20 yrs back during my pgship in ophthalmology it would have been a great . However for my students it's working wonderful.Thank you man

thank you very much! I really love your videos!!!! I was wondering.... Maybe I have not completely understood the pathway, but in class we learned that the fibers that go to the superior colliculus and pretectal nucleus come directly from the optic nerve but not from the lateral geniculus. Can this be clarified please? I am confused because in the drawing it seems that the superior colliculus and pretectal nucleus receive fibers from the lateral geniculate. Thank you so much for your videos, they help a lot!
Good point. The melanopsin retinal ganglion cells that provide input to the pretectal nucleus synapse directly with the neurons in the pretectal nucleus (without making intermediate synapses with the neurons in the lateral geniculate nucleus). This is unusual since most retinal ganglion cells do synapse in the lateral geniculate.
+Belinda Flynn this is so awesome to hear! Thank you so much for the positive feedback we truly appreciate it and best of luck in your future endeavors.
Very helpful. But I think when you talked about ciliaris action on lens. Shifting of lens of is lens importance. More important is change in curvature of lens which leads to change in refractory power of lens
Then from the retina to the pretectal nuclei, there is ipsilateral distribution and from the pretectal nuclei to the edinger Westphal nuclei there is bilateral distribution and finally from the edinger Westphal nuclei, there is once again ipsilateral distribution to both eyes, Did I get it right? 😰

Great presentation! Pupillomotor fibres leaves the optic tract before reaching the LGB (8.50 min). This explains the tectal RAPD.

What amazing you are . You teach better than all teachers who teaches me in the med university. 😍
Actually pupillary fibres doesn't reach the upto LGB... Before LGB they exit half way in optic tract and reach Pretectal nucleus.
Bro being the reason of my survival in med school ❤
I swear I was just about to close my physio book and go to sleep but I’m glad I opened ur video
great videos! one question though, are the visual fields color coded correctly on both sides?
An actual LEGEND...
