      Mohammad, if the kids are living with you, it'd be extraordinary for the judge to order you to pay child support.
      If you're in the Chicagoland region I'd invite you to call our office at 312-757-4833 for a free consultation and we can help you a bit more.

    How long does it take for a divorce process to complete?

    • @IllinoisDivorceTV
      @IllinoisDivorceTV  2 роки тому

      2 months to 2 years or more depending on the divorce. The longer the parties disagree and are unwilling to compromise the longer it goes...

    Do i need to make a divorce decree? Or the judge provides it. (It is a publication based case)

    • @IllinoisDivorceTV
      @IllinoisDivorceTV  Рік тому

      In Illinois, you must provide the proposed judgement to the judge who then will sign it if it is done properly.

    Hi, after the publication all I need to do is get a court date right? After appearing in court is that the final step?

      You will need a court date, yes. You will also need to make sure that you've fulfilled any other notice requirements to the other side, and have all your paperwork ready and delivered to the judge before the court hearing.

    What is the first step to get divorce in Illinois? Where I need to go for this? I have a child and am not earning and what happened in this case?

    • @IllinoisDivorceTV
      @IllinoisDivorceTV  Рік тому

      You have to file a petition for dissolution of marriage. The exact steps depend on what type of divorce is going to work for you (agreed, default, contested).
      You can get a fee waiver if you're not working.
      Navigating the process can be complex however.

      If they agree, then they can put that in the final docs. If they don't agree then the judge will have to decide. There are lots of methods to persuade the other side to agree or to reach a compromise.

    The divorce process in Illinois is sort of like how sausage is made. You really don't want to know. Heh Heh. Your UA-cams are good. I just couldn't restrain myself.

    What if you had zero idea your spouse was considering a divorce, you have had zero period of separation and have been living together yes with some tension and issues but for the most part seemingly things were fine and even have had sex recently and went on vacation together last week, and talk frequently about how we're okay it's just a hard period with our super young kids and our careers taking off, etc. how can my husband just out of nowhere say he's filing for divorce? Can he currently? Is separation required? Is an attempt at reconciliation required for him to file for a no fault divorce? In addition, hes been having an affair for the last 4 weeks. Can he really just blindside me with a divorce and not be required to attempt reconciliation through counseling?
    Yes. This is my real life as of Sunday.

      He caught wind of your betrayal and found out about your own infidelity and got you before you got him. Because had you got him first he would end up homeless and having to take the next few years recovering back to a sub par life all while not being able to see the kids he pays child support for.

    Prepare for a very sub par life, fellas. You'll lose everything you worked years for, won't be able to see the kids you pay over 1/4 of your net income towards child support for, your credit will rapidly decline because you won't be able to pay bills on time, you'll afford her a great lifestyle with your alimony payments to her that you work hard for, and your social life will plummet.

      This certainly could be the outcome, but every divorce is different. Just because you're the husband doesn't mean you'll get the short end of the stick. We've been very successful in representing the breadwinners in certain cases.
