Then the other partner was put on the deed after the marriage and the marriage lasted 7 more years of which the partner that didn’t make the initial purchase paid for most of the upkeep and household needs. Is that now marital property?

Buy the house before the marriage but under your mother or sisters name so it's technically not even your property. She can't take your mother's or sisters property. Also put your money in a savings account under hee name. Don't own anything, have a family member you trust own it. Good luck taking it, last I check your not entitled to his family's property only his. Lastly divorce her in the Bajamas on a trip without her knowing, it's the only place you can get a divorce without telling your spouse. And lastly dint get married in the first place until the contract changes benefits you both equally instead of security for her only at your expense.

No you cannot sue for adultery in California and you cannot sue the person they cheated on you with. But you can sue the person they cheated on you with for violating a legally binding contract which is a marriage license. You can sue your spouse for also violating a marriage license
