My Story
For the past few years I have become more and more obsessed with travelling this great country in a 4WD. Just getting from point A to point B with the maximum amount of fun and excitement it what it’s all about for me.
My first 4WD was a Nissan Patrol and I have had one ever since, this build is my take on what would make the ultimate touring vehicle to do what I love most.
I hope to one day built myself a 4WD empire to make the unreachable, reachable to others. By providing them with a means of transport like to other, transport that is BUILT NOT BOUGHT… - Авто та транспорт
Been using Malaga Suspensions for 3 years now, work and Offroad... Toms' the Man !
How do you not have more subscribers? Your work is quality!
Nice video man, love the action shots of the Rangie!
Awesome video. I wish shops on the US paid that much attention to spring rates as much as you all do in Oz and S Africa. They do a generic lift, stiff shocks and springs then send you bouncing down the highway.
mad video suspension looks like it rides smooth as butter
Another helpfully video Sam, great work mate
Nice one mate. I wish I had a hoist handy when I installed the diff drop into my ranger 😌
Would love to see a walk around of this rig!
You deserve way more subs awesome vids man!!
Thanks Sam, 100% next upgrade to my Ranger
Almost everyday I’m across the road from Malaga suspension, picking stuff up from good guys, hope I see you there one day 😂
Could you do an uninstall video as well... You know ... for us Queenslanders who will have to take it off as it is too high ;-P . ?
Pff mate ive been running a 100mm lift in my patrol in brisbane here for a long time. been pulled over a bunch and never a head turned. you'll be right.
It’s more about insurance than what we can get away with on the road. If ya right it off and they can measure the height they won’t pay up.
@@wikkidme755 Not to mention if you have an at fault accident, they can (potentially rightfully so, depending on the work done and quality) state the suspension changes had something to do with causing the accident. In that case, you lose all cover and the full cost of medical and property damage is passed on to the driver.
@@shockflyyer3d just do go nsw where they will defect you
@@peterbarber7613 mate don't be a sook and let the government hold you back and enjoy four wheeling.
Wilbinga tracks at the end 👌🏼
A lot of dual-cab utes now have that bent-down second stage in the leaf springs for ride comfort. The weight of the vehicle definitely won't bend those override leafs haha.
The ARB Dakar springs are very similar in design. I thought I was the only one that caught that. Good catch!
greetings from America! Very cool Ranger
AT 6:38 you describe the rear spring as bent - Rangers come like that from the factory (I have a 2020.75 and it's never been overloaded and mine are like that). You can actually flip that inverted leaf over to increase the weight capacity if carrying a heavy load regularly, as a poor man's upgrade to the stock springs. Good video though, very informative.
Hey bud love the videos, keep up the good work. Are you able to tell me what exhaust your brother has in his ford ranger?
Great vid, but would've been awesome to see before, mid and after pics to see the changes etc, other than that, pretty cool
Hey mate, great vid. I want to know how the ezy lift spacer on the rear leaf springs was while on the vehicle?
Great job mate. Would love to see how it goes off road. Have a 2 inch lift and 33's I installed myself on my Ranger in the driveway. But as they say bigger is better. Or is it? Please let us know if it is.
Haha spin out! I bought the spacers off zac from facebook!!.
Good vid Bnb!
Quality Video Mate👌
Nice, I'll definitely remember to remove my spare tyre removal rod if / when I attempt this ;)
fkn love your work Sam!
Good stuff Sam your always entertaining👍👍
Almost certain you all installed the rear shocks upside down. They might be easier to adjust the other way and the stock orientation is with the body on the axle side. Should work no worries! Wish we had diesel Rangers here in the states...
😂😂😂 loving the work boots mate! 👍
Love the safety boots
Thanks that was interesting.
Hey mate nice one, new subbie here. TJ sent me over. cheers! look forward to check out the rest of ya stuff. Have a good one :)
Great video.. This is one time when a mate with a hoist makes life easier! Haha
Getting in before 4000 comments on not putting bearing grease on Polly bushes 😂 and not 100% sure what the front brake lines were undone and not just undo the caleper bolts and swing it out of the way 🤷🏻♂️
They put longer brake lines on
How does this channel only have 35k subs
You forgot to mention or forgot to do the brake proportioning doovy for the rear. Also what exhaust does your brother run?
Sick rig..
Would not recommend removing the stock spring from the shockie like that. Use the correct spring compressor. My apprentice did it your way to save time and the shock shot 20 meters down the workshop.
Superior aye? Looks like a good lot of gear!
Scared the shit outta me at the beginning had the volume on blast 🤣🤣🤣
What's been done to the exhaust setup exactly? Sounds much better than factory, And also any tuning been done to the engine?
So how was the test drive after the upgrade? I've got an Everest I'm looking to upgrade the suspension on. I've seen this kit online but I know nothing about the brand.
What’s he done with the exhaust? Sounds mint.
nice mate , have the same car , what exhaust is your brother running ?
Can you get any more Australian aha
Working on your brothers car, in your back garage, using a millk crate as a seat and started by wearing ugg boots ahah
Wicked pickup and suspension up Grade
Epic!!!
Last time i came this early it was last night.. 56 seconds ..
Fuck still almost a minute longer then me your doing well
Congrats on your new record!
Do you think its worth doing the lower control arms as well?
Would have been nice to see more detail on the diff spacing.
I powder coat all the upper control arms for superior 🤙
Do you now?
Superior Engineering Ha! Got Em!!
I dunno about all of them but yeah I do and the super flex arms aswell
I buff them when done
Hey Sam , What does your brother think of the superior shocks after having them for awhile?
Will it work on a Mazda bravo 2003 grew cab 4x4 that i have
Putting some angle on the CV joint.
Diff drop counteracts it mate
is it possible to fit a 3.0 in. lift kit in the new Ssangyong REXTON 4WD 5-Dr SUV???
when you lift a vehicle, the cross bar angle is changed which is from gear box to differential. Is it harmful for the cross joint?
I was told that with the superior remote res lift kit for the 2021 ford ranger PX3 ford does not need a diff drop when going 3 inch lift. What are your thoughts?
Going up 4 inches would the tail shaft need spacers at all mate?
Are you able to tell me the extended length of the rear shocks? Or the part number for them?
Do u have to install it on ur own or can u get a place to do it for u?
where can i find more of your brothers ranger?! ooft!!!
Where did you get that jack from??
question mate, spacers are bd ? i dont go off road hardcore like you would.
Hey mate, what rear bar is that??
So don't use spacers in the springs for a lift?
Thanks for reminding me why I don't own any ifs vehicles.
Too easy mate haha
Good to see you here mate haha
So that diff drop bracket you cut off. Well I hit that in a rock and it caved the front of the diff bracket in.
Are there any serious issues that happen later with denting that bracket in? I don’t feel any vibrations at all and I can’t tell if it moved the diff or anything. Safe to say the front plate to the bracket caved in without actually moving my diff?
Could u do a 4inch loft on my dads ford Everest
Hi BnB,
a Question about the size on of the rear lift block pin if you know, is it a 9/16" pin? (14.3mm)?
Can you do a video on the mods on this?
What trade do you do?
hey what rear bar did you put on the ranger ? cheers brother
What’s the biggest muddies you can fit under that 4 inch lift
How do you get an engineers certificate for it? Because the max without a certificate is 2 inches. Do you just go in and they verify it’s safe or is it more complicated?
Sam Eyles Thanks mate!
Sam Eyles
Keeping it legit
Love your work
what diff drop kit did you use
what shock is that? What drop kit are you installing?
On the rear is it a 2 inch leaf with 2 inch shackle?
What exhaust is he using mate?
So no stiffer anti-roll bar?
Hi I m planing to do 2 inch lift to my hilux. Is It good If I used struts to life the hilux? What do you recommend?
Hey mate what brand diff drop did you use ?
that ranger looks pretty tuff. sucks having an older ifs car as there are fuck all aftermarket parts...
What Exhaust is he running?
Hey Sam! I had malaga suspensions install a 3 inch lift kit (Dobinsons IMS) into my 2017 ranger XLT about 2 months ago. My ride feels super firm though, especially at the rear. Is there a way to soften it up a bit without replacing the springs? Cheers mate.
Hey man not too sure if your questions been answered but you should be about to adjust the damper settings on the front for a softer ride, as for the rear leafs are preset to carry a constant static load ie: 300kgs or such, only solution for that is a lower rated leaf spring
@@fletcherhenery3222 cheers mate!
Nice 👍🏽 where you blokes from?
Best part of the video. lol 5:35
So by all ifs vehicles do you mean ALL ifs vehicles? Finding it hard to get solid info on anything over 2" on my Everest.
What's the cost for the suspension kit?
What exhaust
is that
How did you avoid vibration? I’ve got vibe from a pissy 2”lift. Does the diff drop help with this?
yes, extreme drive line angle will cause vibration, have the same problem on jeep wrangler tj's and xj's when you add a 4" lift, need to either drop the tcase with spacers or get a slip yoke eliminator
Best way to have zero flex
Sooo big question , what did it all cost
3:15 that's not the strut tower, it's the top, strut hitch.
what size tyres are they?
New shed ??
Always loved these px2 onward rangers. I thought they looked neat despite what these old dinosaurs say about being all plastic. My gu is getting a bit long in the tooth and been eyeing these out. Don't do that much off roading due to work anymore and the fuel savings and power of these would be nice to have. Bet its more capable than my patrol too seeing as they have factory rear diff locks. Would love to see this in an offroad video.
Looks the goods.. still love me Live axle flexy rigs tho, easy, strong, reliable what more could ya want
mick romer oh the comfort of ifs. I just brought a 2018 wildtrak, still have my 79 series. Wildtrak is like sitting on the couch at home.. and so much bettter on the beach..
My next door neighbour is the manager of Malaga suspensions 😂
Why "diff drop"?
Are you wearing ugboots in the workshop mate?
1 you can't balance a shaft to a diff..
2 get spring compressors they are about 50.
Your typical spring compressors will not work for 4wd heavy rated springs, they bend and its dodgy as fuck, better off using a professional suspension mob for that part
