The pleasure is all ours! We were extremely impressed with the quality of both the lift kit and the wheel spacers. They definitely are leagues above what we had on our last project car!
That's the next thing on our to-do list after we finish this bed rack video. Just gotta convince my wife that we need to swap out the ice chest for a freezer first
@@SolaOutdoors I went with a 60 vl freezer and/or fridge with a slide that Iceco made for this freezer. We have used it several times with 200 watt solar breifcase and single battery. Of course when driving I charge this battery with my trailer hitch plug. It works great. The slide is a must have and I got the outer cover also. For the money I think its going to be great. It is so nice not having to worry about ice. I also take icecream with me...that alone is enough. Lol
I'd say it's pretty crucial any time you lift or lower a vehicle to get it aligned. After this install, it was both toed in and cambered out quite heavily (5-8°out of spec)
Hello there I watched this video and got psyched about doing this to my Ranger as well.. but then I saw alot of videos about "don't use spacers" etc. Others say the hubcentric spacers like you used are fine.. I don't want to void any warranty or anything by adding either of these.. what do you think? Thanks!
Yeah... you will not get them back in without the CV joint separating. There is absolutely no way to get those extra long bolts back in without that happening. You have to push so far down on that lower control arm it's impossible not to separate it. I suggest you get a second person. It took me 4 hrs total doing it all alone.
Always do a front end alignment with a lift kit these guys inspired me a year ago I done a 3 inch SST lift and one and a half inch wheel spacers the fabtech spacers are really good quality
@@wesleysproul5812 we had to remove the front and rear crash bars, but that was it for us. It did help that our new rims had +0 offset, but the biggest interference areas are the crash bars and the the steering knuckle
@@SolaOutdoorscurrently running the same size tires on stock 16" steelies with a 35mm wheel spacers, (+20) offset. Looking to throw on 25mm strut spacers for the 2" level up front. Hope the tires aren't too beefy for the lift until I can score some MT64's.
Beautiful job guys! Just what I was looking for! I already have the spacers on, I have a global Spec T8 2020 ranger. Would the 2.5” lift spacer work with the global version too?
That's a great question, I'm not exactly sure. I'd have to see if I can find the spring perch part numbers or maybe the bolt patterns to do some cross referencing. We will probably have the struts out later this month, so I can always measure it directly if need be
I have 2020 ranger with the fx4 would i have to change anything to put 2.5 leveling kit or just that Pease on my truck cause i have people telling my i have to change out the upper control arm basically how high of a lift before i have to change other parts?
Great content and well-executed mate. I was wondering to do the same on my 2019 4X4 Ranger, so I've noticed you were talking about the FX4 suspensions, will just replacing the front suspensions with FX4 work?
Thanks, my guy! The front suspension on an FX4 is mainly just different struts and maybe different springs and would be a bolt on to any non FX4 truck. They're less stiff for more offroad comfort, which I can confirm rides pretty nice on a back road. They're not as nice as Bilsteins or any other purpose built shock, but it's better than the regular shocks that come on the truck. Since it's a bolt on swap, the lift kit works for either setup
In the video it looks like the wheel studs are to long for the spacer.. I had to cut all mine off and I have 1.25 inch spacers. I had to cut bout 1/4 off every factory wheel stud
awesome video! did you have any clearance issues with the existing wheel studs sticking out past the 1" wheel spacer and coming into contact with the back of the wheel?
We didn't have that issue with our chrome package wheels since they have the necessary pockets between the lug holes to accommodate the factory studs sticking out
I’m getting this level kit installed on my 2020 ranger 2wd then going on a 16 hr road trip should I be good? Just want to make sure I don’t run into any issues on my trip
As long as they align it while they're in there, you shouldn't have any trouble! I usually recommend driving it for a couple days before a long trip like that, but as long as the shop is good then you shouldn't have any trouble
Unfortunately, yes we had to say goodbye to it. We reached the point where any further mods would cost a crazy amount of money for where we wanted to see it go, so we made the decision to start fresh on a platform that would be easier to fabricate our own equipment/have more aftermarket solutions available
@@SolaOutdoors As a Grand Cherokee owner myself I'm sad to see you go, but I do understand. Not that many people doing a whole lot to the WK2 platform. Im excited to see what you'll be doing to this vehicle

@@TroutWest I was really wanting to lift it higher, but it would have required a redesign of the front suspension. The price of bumpers for that platform is crazyand there wasn't a single set of them that I thought complimented the body lines just right. Hey guys great video. My question is that you say " the only reason someone wouldnt do this mode, is if they dont have an FX4" I have a Sport model, but wanted to do this mod. What will the issue be? Will the front end then be higher than the rear? Sorry for the newbie question.. thank you
We probably could have worded that better, but what we meant by that was the shocks/struts on a non-FX4 are more tuned for on-road use. If you're planning on doing some off-roading, you'd likely want to upgrade your shocks while you're in there and get something like a Bilstein 5100 instead. If you're sticking mostly to pavement or not doing serious off-roading, this kit would net you the same 2.5" of lift in the front. I'd recommend measuring your fender height front and rear to make sure it would truly level you out
@@craighoyt125 most people who have Fx4 and do off-roading usually upgrade their shocks too. Everyone complains about the Fx4 shocks for off-roading, especially when they have just a spacer leveling kit like this. Fox 2.0s are kind of the go to.
32’s yes. 33’s you either need to cut the front intrusion bars off or get aftermarket ones like BDS has. It kind of sucks that Ford has limited us like that but I still love mine anyway.
I'm with you on that one, I've actually got some color matched vinyl to wrap the mirrors and door handles, then I'll be swapping out the wheels shortly after that. The bumpers are gonna be quite a project
How so? There’s different types of lift. I guess since they didn’t do anything to the back it’s just a level but you can use spacers up front and blocks or shackles in the back to get a lift. It’s more form over function but still a lift. I personally would go with a suspension lift/level but not more than 3 inches. I think these trucks look stupid with a 6 inch lift.

Your truck looks really great.
That gray is the best color for the Ranger, IMO.
I'm planning on getting one in a few months.
we did the same with our Ranger, only we mounted 275/65-18 tires, and don't forget the alignment!
TY. I trust Ford engineers. No modifications required.

Great video. I like your footage and editing. Truck is coming along nicely. Also jealous of that shop space!
Thanks! We're really lucky to have access to the shop, especially since it's fully air conditioned!
Nice truck. I like the room of a truck over a sport utility for overlanding.

For someone that has a ranger. I went with the Eibach pro truck. The stock suspension is way too squishy off road.

It is, I recommend doing that. It worked great!
Can you add a lift also after installing the leveling kit?
Thank's for the video. What is the size of the tires!?
Those are a 265/65R18 on the chrome package wheels. We've since upgraded to 285/75R16 on Method Wheels and they were a huge comfort increase off road

Nope, no trimming required. If you want to stuff some 33s in there, you'll be taking the crash bars off

You use the original studs to hold the spacers on. The spacers has its own studs. If you’re going to use spacers then this type is the way to go.
