  • @HuyenNguyen-pp4lv
    @HuyenNguyen-pp4lv 4 роки тому +1609

    I've been watching the clip of the fall over and over again, I think the way Jordan choose to land his body saved him from severe injury. As soon as his foot touched the ground, he knew it wasn't right so he decided to land on his back, which resulted in his head hitting the ground hard (but that wasn't as serious), and lifted his waist so that his almost twisted foot didn't have to bare that much of weight. I think luck is one thing, but it's his experience and intelligence that saved him.

    Fun fact: not only did Jordan have one of the best strength/workout coach in the planet at the time, not only did that coach show him the importance of strengthening his legs and ankles, but he literally trained on HOW TO LAND to avoid injuries like the one you’re talking about here that could’ve happened. He let his head bounce on the ground on purpose to prevent a possible torn Achilles. So in hindsight this what if wouldn’t have happened for sure.

      @@truththebestiknowit5091 think he got lucky and managed to pull his leg forward so it ended up flat , as for the head he kinda rolled onto in, as his bum hit first, but still a good knock..more worried about the knees, however Jordan was on another level in conditioning, simply through instinct and lots of fast twitch muscle fibers he managed to pull his leg forward just in time , probs learned from all the fouls he took on a reg basis.. you can see his muscularity is superior to most modern players , plus he was very symetrical for his height. He took care of his body, trained every part to be as strong as possible, we didn't see him injured often, his crazy endurance is part of his legacy, paid off against the knicks that night for sure..
      These story's of him only having his body treated in private, never showing weakness, jogging to the back after a game, and almost collapsing from pain once in the back with the trainers , but never showing weakness to anyone, guy probs had a team of physical therapists , and for sure he didn't take any heavy stuff to numb pain, or he'd be in limping these days..he walks fine..

      Peter Parker that's what they call Mr. June, but that was all mighty God sending 👼 to protect MJ on that play, there's been plenty of ackward falls by NBA players and some walked away injury free and others suffered castrophic injuries, Michael Jordan did suffer a broken foot and missed 64regular season games in the 1985-1986 NBA season, his 2nd year in the league and missed 21games in the 2001-2002season due to injury, but MJ was healthy for the majority of his career, especially from 1987 thru 1998, injuries are part of sports though, Hakeem #TheDream Olujawon, Michael Jeffery Jordan 🐐🐐

      Robert Weekes #facts u speaking, in the 2002-2003 NBA season in which was Mr. June last NBA season at 39 and turning 40years old, equally the 🐐 along wit Hakeem #TheDream Olujawon, Michael Jeffery Jordan averaged over 37mins of playing time while playing in all 82 regular season games for a young disfunctional Washington Wizards organization which started from the leadership of owner Abe Pollin, #restinparadise to the front office VP and GM and down to the players, that was a accomplishment along playing all 82, loadmanagement was not a topic among NBA players in those days, and trust and believe there is rapid P.e.d. performance enhancing drug use among all NBA players in 2019, commissioner Adam Silver and League officials only go after the young players and no star players, John Collins of the ATL Hawks, Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns, 25game p.e.d. suspensions, just like MLB when Jose Canseco snitched out baseball and exposed it for p.e.d. use, the NFL,NHL,MLS,NBA,UFC,Boxing and all sports need be exposed for p.e.d.s.

      hood gold medalist I’m not certain, but I believe the part of his head that he hit was not a weak point, so the most he could have happen to him was a moderately bad concussion. Obviously that’s bad, but it’s a lot better than the multiple knee and ankle ligament and tendon tears he likely would have sustained if he had taken all the force to his leg (not to mention any bones in his foot that were broken by the pressure).
      I’d say arching his back there was the right move. I could be totally wrong though lmao

      That and his conditioning that allows his body to take the fall and not be injured. Strong ACL and ligaments in legs prevent potential injuries from the same fall/twist. I know because my rehabbed ankle can now withstand a sprain like it's nothing.

    Great insight, there are times when you sort of brace for impact in a split second, from the replay I think that's exactly what happened here, he sort of arches his back to release the pressure on his ankle and lower leg, but who knows maybe all the strength training he was famous for in the off-season wasn't worth a darn and he just got lucky, and this wasn't the only time the other one was when he broke his navicular bone and came back early with no consecuences

      True. I'm not too surprised though that MJ recovered. I always believed MJ took care of himself due to serious conditioning and knowing how to take a fall if necessary to avoid injury.

      Yeety McFly IV and MJ averaged over 37 mins a game in both seasons, missed 21 in the 2001-2002season due to injury but played all 82games in the 2002-2003season at 39yrs old and turned 40yrs old on February 17th of that year after all-star break, load management was never talked about back then like players do in sports in 2019, wit all the new studies and technology on how athletes can stay healthy and play longer and improved nutrition nowadays and there's p.e.d. performance enhancing drug use rapidly among NBA players, particularly star players, and they load management, no new era player should ever be compared to the players of 1970s, 80s, 90s, and early 2000s interms of physicality and toughness and fundamentals and skill, period, and i embrace today's NBA players
