I like how AoW is generally serious, but they have the occasional memes like the Dire Penguins or the poop-flinging baboons. Looking forward to 4! Just a month to go.
This is a pretty bad video which doesn't really show how games evolved from one another with cities, magic system, diplomacy... Could at least have shown some spells.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall was the first Age of Wonders game I embarked on... It was 2020, the pandemic shut the business I worked for down... with the money I was getting, I bout Planetfall and all the DLCs... had been absolutely obsessed with it, now I am here playing Age of Wonders 4. Enjoying every bit of it!
Hmm... I think AoW 2 was the best in series. Kinda disliked the race+class combination system because it was a start of racial features reduction... which came to races being purely cosmetic in AoW 4.
Age of Wonders 3 was such a big shock but I love all the new elements they introduced. The race+class combination system made it even more unique as well.
I never knew this game was a thing I just saw it on xbox store damn looks so good! I love strategic war game, city building, developing an empire but this takes it to a whole another level with the fantasy creatures and fantasy vibes! im so so interested in this game but I have some questions is it completely online? like pvp? so every player owns a kingdom? or is it against AI?
I think all of them is against AI but it's still very challenging and exciting, I recommend to start with age of wonders 2 wizards throne it's very beautiful, it's my whole childhood
Look how they massacred my boy :( . AoW3 was the last game in the series. You could already tell how planetfall strayed from the other ones, graphically it became worse as everything blended together and you couldnt even tell details apart most of the time, and then they went ahead and took everything bad from planetfall and put it in the garbage that is AoW4
At 3:22 Name of that Sound track? I tried to look for that soundtrack in Video Age of Wonders 3 OST but I didn’t hear that soundtrack I video Age of Wonders 3 OST.

AoW 2 had some amazing new mechanics , bit I disliked the OST and the sedentary hero, however Its amazing if you want to play as Saruman 😂

You just can't beat the 2d portraits of the leaders, goofy 3d models cant even come close to those portraits😢

AoW2 was better version. You could to exchange with enemies with artefacts/resources/buildings/spells.
AoW-3 (and newest) not have this piece/chip.

There is, its called AoW4
The only series I know that never went to crap or got political.
It did get political though, it was just more subtle about it.
There are others, but I agree it's always refreshing to see these days!
