Dock Fishing on Lake Taneycomo

- Hopefully this video teaches you a little about fishing baits on the bottom of Lake Taneycomo when there is current. My first trout fishing experience came on Lake Taneycomo. It took me a long time to learn how to bounce baits off the bottom of the lake and actually catch fish in the process, but hopefully this video makes the process a little easier to understand. Fun video.
Thank you!
I felt this video very deeply! New sub here.
Awesome! Always good to hear positive things! Thank you.
@@TheShowMeFlyGuy we were there over Christmas at the public dock next door. 3 separate trips and only caught one trout on a mepps spinner !
@@attorneydad that place can be tough at times. Other times it can be on fire. I have a special fly that I use down there. I don’t sell it but will give it away to friends. I would be happy to send you a couple. You can email me your address if you want. My email is ShowMeFlyGuy@gmail.com
Great vid guys enjoyed watching new supporter here

We have been staying at Lilly’s landing for years
I love that place! I've been going there since I was a kid and was there earlier this month! It's a little slice of heaven!
What recommendations do you have for taking small children fishing on Taneycomo (age 4)?
david matney wow, that’s a tough one. You want to be careful because the water is so cold and there is usually current. You definitely want the child in a life jacket at all times. You might also have luck up near the dam. I let my boys play on the bank while I wade and fish. When I hook one, I let them bring it in. Another option would be to drift small jigs under strike indicators. You could do that with a push bottom or spinning rod as long as the reel has 2 pound line. They could watch the bobber easier than feeling the weight hit the bottom of the lake. I hope that helps and if you need more ideas or info, don’t hesitate to ask.
The Show Me Fly Guy there is a park down at the landing that has a few docks (remnants of hotels before the revamp of the landing) take your salmon eggs (pautzke brand green label) or corn kernels. There are benches on the docks so the kiddos can sit (I’d still use a life vest for that young of a child). This is what I did when I was growing up fishing off those same docks.
@@tracyg1312 Very cool! I will try that next time I am down there...unless they aren't running water. In that case, you can find me at the dam!
In the winter time I like a rooster tail.
That’s good stuff. If I could catch trout on a rooster tail, that might be the only way I fish!
Great video man! Been there before.
Cornbread's Variety Channel thank you sir! I sure wish I could have waded and fly fished, but dock fishing was better than no fishing at all.
Water is wet
Millerjerm no, water makes things wet. Wet is a condition, and water is a thing.
Lolol
Where’s this doc at?
