In doing that, I leveled il enough to be able to now build this outpost - just scanned and found the perfect spot. I say this, because if there are higher level folks who haven’t got the skills yet but want to credit farm and build your ships - the Serpentis ship stealing is a good way to go. Made roughly 100-200K creds every hour/hour and a half or so. Depending on how long it took for level III ships to spawn But.. if you're going to sell it all at Wolf Den there is also $5,000 at the kiosk you can hit before you do the 48 hour wait. Lately I have been just using New Atlantis (though it requires running encumbered) $5000 at spaceport kiosk, $5000 jemison mercantile, then take the elevator next to the mercantile to the well. Trade authority down there has the $11, 000 and there are two smaller shops that have around $2000 each. Waiting 24 hours there is 48 UT. I don't know why they made it so hard to sell everything in this game.
AWesome! I am going to do this on my NG+1 character or maybe if i start new :P i really appreciate the skills guide. very very helpful man. Keep up the amazing work :)
My pleasure! You should have a great experience with the game if you start the way I did in this playthrough. I’m currently pushing level 90, and that Vytinium mine has funded all but two ship builds that I have on my channel. Credits have never been an issue, and by association, neither has XP. If you can build good ships, you can quickly and easily farm XP in space. If you run into anything or have any other questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the engagement. You’ve probably already seen that my last upload was weeks ago, but that is not an indicator of a lack of interest or motivation. I have been working on filming footage for several different videos and I will be getting those out to everyone ASAP. I hope you’ll be sticking around, thanks for watching!
With the new May update.. selling goes SO much faster. Now I can build ALL the ships with much less time between them. Thanks to being able to adjust how many credits vendors have.
@@WizeOldWizard so, on the Key for example - the Trade Authority guy and the gal across from him both have $62,500. Then the gun lady and the other dude each have $25,000. And the general goods gal has $17,500 But all the trade authorities have the same amount Seems like you multiply it by 5 on average
Just picked up a slightly used Claymore III while on a temple run, I plan to use as a base for the Basilisk II. however I need some credits, so plan to look into mining vytinium!
It has been the most valuable credit farm for me and I would not have been able to build this many ships at the pace that I have without it. Granted that pace seems much slower based on my release cadence but, anytime I need credits for a build I have them on-demand.
I’m editing the next video, which is an addition/expansion of the Vytinium mine outpost and runs in the background while you play. So then you can go and do all your lootin and shootin while it builds in the background for you to collect at your leisure.
@@WizeOldWizard Perfect, and right on time. My ship building addiction becomes worse and worse, I can't pay for it anymore and find myself constantly broke. @raphael2407 very nice man, just wait until you see what the Vytinium mine is a part of. Next video, very detailed and in-depth. I had to do a lot of math to get it properly balanced.
I like this setup, I might actually build that outpost just for the fun of it. I'm at over level 100 and don't actually need the credits anymore because I already have your Basilisk, but I might experiment with building my own designs so I can use the cash. I would sell stuff at the Key, the 5 vendors have about 30k in total and are just a few steps apart.
You’re right, The Key is best for selling. Only reason I didn’t show it in this video is because it’s likely that many players will not have reached the point in their playthrough to have the option. I figured those that know about it can choose to sell there. You should build the Bristleback too so you can haul way more goods without being overencumbered, you’ll need 1 million credits for that one! That ship has grown on me a lot.
@@WizeOldWizard yes, I really want to build that one, which is why I am interested in doing this. I had to waste a ton of credits because I had to build the Basilisk twice. I built the first one off an Ecliptic Claymore III, but my kills didn't register for the Ship Command skill. You can only advance that if you use a purchased or awarded ship.
@@Andy_from_de oh shit I didn’t know that! I hope that’s a bug because why would it matter how you obtained the ship that you’re flying. Todd always makes us learn the hard way.

@@WizeOldWizard that last landing spot you show on decoran 7-b right before you start the building the vytinium mine. Was that the spot you ended up using? I’ve noticed that alot of times even tho these things are randomly generated I’ve found the same spot several times on other planets
@noahkatzenberger8707 oh yes, correct. And to your point, the procedurally-generated part is not the landscape or resource veins, those things are always the same. It’s the specific type of point of interest at a given location that can be different between playthroughs. Also, that spot that I found is likely not the only one that has everything you need, but if you can find the same spot, it will always have the same resource veins.
Not if you’re JUST extracting Vytinium to sell. I son’t know if you’ve seen my Automated Vytinium Fuel Rod guide, but if you plan on building that then you definitely need the helium. Then again, you could always just find a different location for a second outpost that has both later on. Thanks for watching!
Your character looks uncannily like a slightly greyer Mathis. As a pirate, must be quite confusing for Delgado to figure out which of you he should be shouting at the most. 😅
I go to the Well in Jemison and sell to the lady In the trade authority. You can sit in her seat and you don’t have to get up between transactions. just sell sleep repeat.
The problem with this is how far you have to walk from your ship to get to that location. That’s why I prefer the den. Good tip though either way. Being able to just keep your ass planted while you’re selling is an advantage. Thanks for watching!
Nice video, thanks. Could it be better to find an outpost on Venus and send this vytinium here ? Vendors just have 5K credits but you can just sleep 1h to sell some more vytinium for again 5K credit, sometimes wihout moving as you can stay on your seat to loop Sell>Sleep > Sell> Sleep etc ... ? Also a good place and way to buy resources and ammo payed by your vytinium.
Cargo links don’t work while sleeping or waiting. The point of this was to have a resource that would completely fill and be ready to sell after sleeping for a bit. Nice thing is, after you’re done with a sell run, when you return to Decaran the storage is all full again. The Key is the best place to sell. Roughly 35k at all vendors combined. Nothing else comes close. Problem is, walking around with this much weight is literally dangerous, so I chose a single Trade Authority location because they have 11k. No running to different vendors this way.
@@WizeOldWizard why dangerous walk with alot weight? u loose hp till a minimum but after that u can't die at all, u just stay with fixed low hp and red screen blinking, and u can run forever with that
You’re 100% right and I just discovered that recently. Sucks that you just have to deal with it unless you have a substantial cargo ship. Thanks for watching!
Huh, I didn't realize you could connect all of your extractors to one group of containers. I was told you built a group of containers for each extractor and then connect the containers to the transfer container. Does it matter?
Couldn't you also just move all the vytinium from the transfer container while in the ship? That's what I do. Then when you go to Marcel, you can choose to sell from your ship
The transfer container does allow for this functionality. Problem is, you have to exit the ship inventory and go back into it for the transfer container to refill again. Just too tedious. I would rather exit the ship and walk up to it so I can spam the take button and grab it all at once.
@philipb2684 it totally bugs me too, but at least this early in the game you can’t really build a ship with enough cargo to store all that vytinium. I’m going to build a mid-game hauler once the Vytinium Fuel Rod farm is running.
@@WizeOldWizard this is true, like Skyrim i may never complete a play through lol as there is so much fun to be had trying different things out, like watching crazy speed runs with a knife only. Or odd things that NCP do. Keep up the good work Wizard, your videos are a pleasure to watch.
@timothyhanks14 my opinion is that you can never really truly finish games like these. As you said, there’s just a mountain of things to do that seems to go on forever. In Starfield especially, there are many different outcomes to the different questlines, and multiple possibilities for unique universes in NG+, you’d be hard pressed to experience them all. Really appreciate your support, and I’m editing new content as we speak. I’ve got more outpost stuff coming up, two new ships, the second episode of Becoming a God, a crew guide, and I may even throw in a space combat guide soon. Thank you very much for watching and engaging with the content. It really helps the channel grow!
love this, it works a treat, but by god are out posts a screwed up mess still i played on day one gave up after about a week cause it was just a janky mess low and behold months later its just as bad if not worse lol
I wouldn’t call it a mess, the system itself actually does make some sense once you figure it out. Biggest problem I’ve encountered is the Cargo Links’ inability to sort or control the amounts of materials flowing through them. You’re basically forced to build a link for each material, to avoid losing those materials or clogging up the production line.
Like I mentioned, it’s not needed for this, but it is absolutely necessary for a much more ambitious and involved project that I’m going to detail in the next video. I just finished getting the last bit of footage that I needed for it, so now it’s on to editing.
Although there’s no need for it with these two outpost builds, we’re going to need the He3 for the automated Vytinium Fuel Rod farm. To make that function, we’ll need to send materials between systems, and those cargo links require He3. The expanded outpost guide will follow the next ship build guide, which is nearly complete.
@@WizeOldWizard I was wondering if you were planning on Vytinium Fuel Rods later. The He-3 here and mentioning that you'll be getting plutonium and uranium on another system were big clues hehe. I'm looking forward to the video to compare your setup to what I did.
@fjrsean So far, I’ve tried that two ways, neither of which have worked out. The second attempt had all the materials coming in on separate links but for whatever reason, one location just would not send its helium through the link, preventing the entire operation from working. I’ll try it a third time at some point, but only when I’ve forgotten the frustration of my first two attempts hahaha.
My man! I sincerely apologize for my previous gross miscalculation of timing for the Vy Fuel Rod production. I had to attempt it two more times to get it to work correctly, but it functions perfectly now and I just need to edit the footage. The list for what’s required is pretty long and the setup is not that simple. I ask for just a bit more patience. Uploads are coming soon and the Vy fuel rod guide is actually going to be coming up after episode 2 of Becoming a God. I swear this time I’m not miscalculating!
UT doesn’t matter for vendor reset at your location. 48 local hours is required to reset the vendors at your current location. Lot’s of walking between vendors on Neon, and I wanted to show players a location which requires as little walking as possible. The choice of where you sell is ultimately up to the individual. I prefer The Key myself.
@@WizeOldWizard Oh yes, I see your point. But I think it's better get money fast then walk less. My point of view of course. We have there trade with 11k. mining, e other two vendors with 5k each. And you can wait 24h there... that will be 35 hours, and then 9, that will be 48. I'm doing it right now =)
@@GustavoMNascimento no matter where you are, you still have to wait for 48 hours local time for vendors to reset. Vendors outside of Neon would be reset after waiting for that amount of time, but not the ones in Neon.
@@WizeOldWizard It's matter mate. Trust me. If you wait in neon. 24h gonna be 35h UTC. You dont need to wait 48. You just need to wait 33h. Because that gonna be the 48h UTC time. Try yourself and you gonna see it =)
@@WizeOldWizard ah shame! I'll try to find one, but it would certainly be very cool if you could have a ship haul off all of the resources and then bring you credits lol
Whats up with soo many extractors for a single resource? I just needed 1 for each, and all my stuff still gets full. OK content creators need to get stuff ASAP, and make a kazillion credits ASAP. I need that space for the storage. I put lots of time into my outpost, and rarely need to refill. My extractors work, I sleep, get companion XP boost, do a little ship combat (in Serpentis), gain XP, go to the Den, and Mars Trade Authorities to sell stuff, and ships (when I steal them in the process), get to the out post, sleep (of course on a planet with at least 1hr to 57hr UT ratio or more), then manually manufacture stuff. sell them (Trade Authority already reset because I slept). Then I have Skill points, Credits, and I am able to upgrade whatever I need, and start over to complete the next level research, and do it all again with the Ship, Outfit, weapons, and Outpost upgrades. Still early in the game, LVL 57 170hrs so far
It’s a setup for a complex and connected network of outpost. The extractors need to keep up with resource transfer during playtime as it will be an automated production setup. Doesn’t work when sleeping. That guide will be coming up after another ship build guide.

Depending on how long it took for level III ships to spawn
But.. NOW I can’t wait to build this outpost and farm more money and make more of your ships. I’m really enjoying them so far
I might change up some habs on BII, but so far I’m loving the build. I also haven’t done All that money can buy, but there is a similar engine (same shape) a the 6330 - that will give 100 maneuverability and keep the similar look that works until you’ve got that quest done
Badass man, glad to help! Now you can just earn your credits on-demand and focus on XP in Serpentis. I still think that’s the best way to earn levels.
The Vulcan is coming soon, better start selling that Vytinium!
@@WizeOldWizard hell yeah! Can’t wait to see it! Your design vision on the ships is very sleek and smooth. And I can’t wait to finish building the vytinium farm to more easily/quickly get those credits!
God man I so want the way you think!!!! I am going to give you a shout out soon in my vids. Thanks for what you do in the game! You are awesome!!!
Just a guy with a few ideas, who also greatly appreciates feedback like this!
I have a wave of uploads coming up. Spent the last three weeks capturing footage. You’ll want to see the home base outpost that I’ve been slaving away on.
Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard No! Thank You!!
Your shoutout arrives tomorrow thank you so much !!!
if you're going to sell it all at Wolf Den there is also $5,000 at the kiosk you can hit before you do the 48 hour wait.
Oh nice I totally overlooked that kiosk!
“Balancing” probably lol.
Another awesome video
Thanks man! Hope it helps you.
AWesome! I am going to do this on my NG+1 character or maybe if i start new :P i really appreciate the skills guide. very very helpful man. Keep up the amazing work :)
Happy to help, thanks for watching!
Oh man i just started this game and i stumbled on your tutorial it is fantastic thanks for sharing mate!
Just found this channel, informative and easy to follow guides. Keep up the good work Wizard. Subscribed.
NICE! How adjustable is it?
@@WizeOldWizard so, on the Key for example - the Trade Authority guy and the gal across from him both have $62,500. Then the gun lady and the other dude each have $25,000. And the general goods gal has $17,500
But all the trade authorities have the same amount
Seems like you multiply it by 5 on average
@@WizeOldWizard at max credits at least
@r6TrdSlow that’s a whole lot more than I expected. Hallelujah! Praise Todd lol
@@WizeOldWizard praise Todd indeed!
Again, thanks. I'm at level 122, and with my commerce skills this will be quite profitable to raise my credits to build that gorgeous Aegis!
My pleasure! Check out the Basilisk II after you build the Aegis.
This is so funny. Great vid. I need to do this with my new character!!!
It was a very good way to start, at least for me.
I admit I am usualy a "kill it / loot it / sell it / repeat until rich" player, but this is really interesting. 🙂
I need a decent semi-passive income stream and I have yet to build any outpost. I really only ever did quests & missions (I actualy do play story, all of it), clear facilities for loot and space combat with my shiny ships... until now. I will start a new playthrough after the update today and I plan to take the "steady income first" route with your outpost guides 🙂
I love yor content, your ship building is top notch too!
@raphael2407 starting with this mine will give you a head-start for the Automated Production operation, the vytinium is needed for that.
@@WizeOldWizard finished part 1, it's up and running, extracting Iron/Alu/Beryllium, with a little extra (small hab, some furniture... (Andreja doesn't like to sleep under the naked sky on a moon wearing a spacesuit)..
Currently watching the Vytinium part again, but I need more skillpoints for that. (Combat & Shipbuilding focused character...)
It's not that I need the credits, but it's a fun part of the game that I ignored for too long, and I admit the idea of building a decent home somewhere nice grows on me 🙂
@raphael2407 very nice man, just wait until you see what the Vytinium mine is a part of.
And I just located an all-4-in-1 spot near that very first landing spot you showed.
@@Andy_from_de oh shit I didn’t know that! I hope that’s a bug because why would it matter how you obtained the ship that you’re flying. Todd always makes us learn the hard way.
@@WizeOldWizard Well, I have nice C class Va'runn Prophecy III waiting to be transformed into a Bristleback and I have my fingers crossed that using that as a hauler won't messing with other things doen the line. 😀
Thanks for the help :)
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
Was that last landing spot where ended up then? Great stuff by the way keep it up
Not sure what you’re asking, but I’m happy to answer your question if you can clarify…
Thanks for watching!
Is the Helium a must in the Decaran Base ?
Not if you’re JUST extracting Vytinium to sell. I son’t know if you’ve seen my Automated Vytinium Fuel Rod guide, but if you plan on building that then you definitely need the helium. Then again, you could always just find a different location for a second outpost that has both later on.
Thanks for watching!
Your character looks uncannily like a slightly greyer Mathis.
As a pirate, must be quite confusing for Delgado to figure out which of you he should be shouting at the most. 😅
Mathis is a pretty boy compared to Oz. I took a good close-up that I posted in my discord. Much more weathered and much less spineless haha.
@@WizeOldWizard ur videos are amazing, keep it up! just subscribed too :)
Do you have to have 4 points in astrodynamics? Or is that just to get the total high enough for the final tier?
Correct, take whichever skills you want so you can unlock Planetary Habitation.
@@WizeOldWizard great! I’ve got most of the others already. Just need to level up scanning. Great video!
Works either way.
The transfer container does allow for this functionality. Problem is, you have to exit the ship inventory and go back into it for the transfer container to refill again. Just too tedious. I would rather exit the ship and walk up to it so I can spam the take button and grab it all at once.
Ahh. I see. It doesn't bother you then that you're so overencumbered? I know I know, you can't die if you run around enough but it still scares me🤣
@philipb2684 it totally bugs me too, but at least this early in the game you can’t really build a ship with enough cargo to store all that vytinium. I’m going to build a mid-game hauler once the Vytinium Fuel Rod farm is running.
Wish I’d watched this sooner as the space-suite glitch seems to have been patched
Yes I believe it was. Oh well though, it’s not gonna make or break a new playthrough.
Why did you need helium if you didn’t do anything with it?
Like I mentioned, it’s not needed for this, but it is absolutely necessary for a much more ambitious and involved project that I’m going to detail in the next video. I just finished getting the last bit of footage that I needed for it, so now it’s on to editing.
Do we need to have helium 3 or is that optional
@@WizeOldWizardwhat do you need to craft vytinium fuel rods
Neon is a better place. Neon core. We have the trade, and 3 more places to sell =P. And wait 24h is 35h UTC
Try yourself and you gonna see it =)
@@WizeOldWizard Each hour you wait in Neon, will be 1 hour and 25 min to UTC time.
Is there a way to automate the selling processes?
Wouldn’t that be great? Not in the vanilla game for sure, but maybe a mod exists?
I think we can skip the whole, make your character, part
