That was such a great demonstration. I will have to watch this several times to really get the technique down in my head. This makes so much more sense that making the pot and the lid separately. I will definitely try this technique. Thank you!
Thank you for your comment Tricia😊 I make many different types of “One Piece “ This inset lid is one of my favorite. I’m so glad you think my video is useful.
Thank you! This is very inspiring and helpful. I am sure it will take me a long time to successfully make something like this, but this video is very helpful for me as I learn. Your description is so clear and thorough!
Thank you for your comment Ludouglas 😊. When I’m using this method, the moment I put the lid back on the pot is something special for me. I feel “One Piece “ is completed.
Thank you for your comment Troy😊 I’m very glad to hear my video is useful for other potters! I’m planning to post more videos in this year to communicate many potters in the world.
Thank you for your comment Homebrewer😊 Great! That’s how I want to be. I learn something when I’m making posts. There is no end for this quest. Let’s enjoy.
Thank you for your comment Natasha😊. This is fun technique!. If you master to double the thickness at the top part the possibility of making many other style of pots are waiting for you!
Thank you for your comment Sally😊. I’m not sure which tool you are calling “divider” . Maybe digital gauge? If so “online shopping!” Is the answer. It is inexpensive and useful.
I am a beginner. I am happy to found your video, looking forward to try this technique in near future. Thank you for the detailed explanation! All the best for you! Greetings from Austria :)
Thank you for your question😊 There are four glazes in this video. all of them are made from raw material so there is no name and can not buy them, but left light green blue glaze is a celadon which you can get many recipes on line.
Thank you for your question Shrihartman.😊 . Trimming Spinner. You can buy ready made one on line which is silver looking disk. I use it in the “Double Walled Thermo Cup” video. This red top one I found in the nicknack shop. it was a spinner for spirit drinking game. It has an index finger shape attached originally. It works very well. Take a look of the other video and the size is good for you you can order online and very reasonable price.
Thank you for your question Keith😊 The pot and the lid are fired together. I use wax at the joint part and use only not runny glaze. The inside of the lip is glazed but the joint part was carefully waxed. some people recommend to fire separately. From my experience I prefer to fire together.
@@AlchemyCeramic The pot lip does looked glazed but that is excellent that you are able to make sure the lid doesn’t stick to the pot when firing. I know they need to be fired together because you have such a wonderful fit. I like this method and I am going to give it a try.
Thank you for your comment Sharone😊. I bought it on line. There are so many of them. You don’t need to buy expensive one. This is not special one but very useful.
Beautiful work; the warmth and texture of the clay looks so wonderful. I have to say though, when I clicked on this vid at random, I totally misunderstood what you meant by One Piece (and I'm not even a fan, lol).
Thank you Anonymous😊 That ONE PIECE became too famous now. I love the story to quest the treasure “One Piece “ as I’m also on the quest to find the ceramic holly grail 😉

How many kg clay did you use?
700g☺️
I am assuming these are not fired together as the bottom inside lip looks glazed. Am I correct?

@@AlchemyCeramic I don't know what you call it, to look it up. Thanks
Digital Caliper is the name. Mine was about £8. it is very good for the price. I’m in UK. It may be called Electric Gauge in other countries.
