Amazing analysis as usual. We also did 2 analysis on this trailer and it was so much fun diving into it. One cool detailon "Cyborg Samurai" is that it has a baby bump, it is more noticeable if you look at the posters Kojima posted. And Yoji Shinkawa has 3D printed designs that had similar baby bumps as the cyborg. Would love to know your thoughts on that 😁 also we did also see another character with yellow boots in the background where Elle Fanning is seen eavesdropping. Keep up the amazing work btw.
Higgs saying, "Same as it ever was," might also just be a reference to "Once in a Lifetime" by The Talking Heads. He would occasionally drop music references in the first game, the biggest one I remember being literally singing the words, "I've got the whole world in my hands" when powering up Amalie to use as a weapon. The fact that he now wields an electric guitar weapon and sings in one of the trailers further suggests they're leaning into that aspect of him more in the sequel.
Reminds me of ocelot. First he’s ocelot then he’s revolver ocelot. Slowly b ur surely molds into flat out cowboy. But began as random soldier number 4
Lou having her Ka and Ha split and being all grown up makes sense. In the first TGA teaser we see Fragile losing Lou after the ambush and her crash, it would also make sense why Sam is so old. Perhaps a good chunk of years have passed between losing and re-discovering Lou, in a cocoon from the tar. I daresay that as those other robots/androids/cyborgs are connected to some strands before Sam engages in fight with them, so could be Lou in human form connected to her robot/cyborg/android self that saves Sam and battles Higgs.
But we see Sam with Tomorrow when his hair is brown. I think Sam may have tried to 💀 himself after he lost Lou and then Fragile stopped him and they reversed the effects.
These types of videos are scintillating and a masterpiece. This video is well made and deserves praise and respect.

One thing I haven’t heard anyone mention about the trailer is how fragile says there’s a generous donor giving them all the things they need for the ship and then later in the video Higgs say seeing I been supplying all the fruits of this fine factory or something like that talking about the gun

Some really interesting points here, I’m really interested to see that on the beach movie now, I’d love for Kojima to just release a massive list of movie recommendations, I wrote down a few Japanese films to check out on his Criterion collection video he did recently, and I really enjoyed listening to his Podcast when I found it last year

My hypothesis about the cigarettes are that they use tar from the beach as a sort of flavoring, resulting in a bleedover effect with the smoke and BTs. Many times throughout the first game, we deliver consumer products made from beach related materials, so its likely Drawbridge also produces their own. They might even be medicinal, like the inverse of eating an apple a day. Though I doubt they would reverse advanced aging on their own.
I can envision a gameplay moment in the sequel where you need to pull a Solid Snake and use a cigarette to detect and sneak past BTs, spotting them through it as a sort of reverse smoke screen, maybe when you're without your standard equipment.
It is amazing that you can come up with your own analysis 2 months after everyone else did and have most, if not all, of the findings/ideas unique. I just hope we will all manage to survive the wait for DS2 in good health and spirit. Keep on keeping on. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. See you at the release

Regarding detail number 7, the badge is of a BT creature seen in the first game which resembles a squid summoned by Higgs in the first boss fight, it even has a chiral mask on its face like in the actual model, I doubt it has anything to do with the cat but that’s what I think, great work guys

Hope DS2 has more content. The first one was chill, but I think it needed more action spots.
As much as I like the idea of Sam being Ludens, but Lou maybe short for Luden, and we may have to prepare ourselves for a Cyberpunk reference to get Lou to the moon.
The BT with the cars attached makes me think of a hermit crab, so I wonder if it'll use debris to shield itself from attacks?

i wonder if in some kojima´s twist we get to play a little as Higgs, we see his past and he end up being a kind of tragic misunderstood figure.
28 may not be a serial number but a symbolic one, remember how bb was created? they were extracted from womb at week 28. So it's possible that BB-28 may not be the 28th creation from BB project, but the first successful one.

I am still hyped like a little fangirl for this game. I love sci-fi dystopia as well as Kojima's brilliantly mad mind.
Everybody calling the big guy mechanical/cyber Samurai. Pay closer attention. There are no joints through out his body, the entirety or the armor is strapped together.
Also, while the designs and lines are very different. The Samurai's outline/silhouette does remind me a fair bit of Luden's.

My theory is Sam is facing the same fate as Cliff Unger, but is trying to find a way to prevent Lous death from happening. Fragile manipulates Sam somehow into believing this is true, and talks him back into expanding the network for this private corporation. Higgs is somehow connected with the private corporation. These are my guesses so far.
There's so many expressions from Lea Sedoux that point to me she knows more about the private corporation than she lets off in front of Sam. I feel like her betrayal is a way to help Sam move on, but from what?

Could be farfetched, but could Higgs be Lou's father? With Higgs singing to Lou, could that signify possibly an origin? With as much as we know on the lore as it is still growing, I think the reason for Higgs showing up with Amelie's resemblance could possibly be a fragmented bridge to both of their beaches? Guess will have to find out in the next one.
I don't think that's likely possible, higgs may just knows way too much about everything i believe his connection with amelie made things much easier for him to know anything he needs to know but we'll never truly be sure of anything it's a kojima's game after all
I think fannings character is lou with accelerated aging and all grown up since BBs are weird creations of science like les enfants terribles
I also think that because everytime they show us the tank it has the white strands coming from it just like elle does

Just an idea here speaking from a smooth part of my brain or I’m probably just overthinking it but you know how mostly ever detail plays a part in games made by Kohima, well in that one scene where Sam puts that puppet thing on a part of his body when he was gonna put in on his buttocks I think it’s referencing that head from god of war. But what gets me thinking is he was trapped by a god to get information from with the smartest man in the realm trapped in a tree so maybe the puppet thing had the same situation in that case he had a human body and the head (the puppet body for him) is the aftermath of him being needed but too hard to get him out of his prison
I love the First one but I do hope we get more Combat in this sequel.

this game does already look a lot more interesting than the first one. I really hope they take a different approach to boss design though. I was hoping for something maybe more of a Shadow Of The Colossus kind of thing and pee pee poo poo grenades. And I don't mean using a sword, but large bosses that are a puzzle to traverse to a weak point, and since traversal is like the main thing seemed like a good fit, and a good time to use ropes.
I still to this day, after 3 playthroughs of DS1, have no idea what the fuck is going on lol...but, it was such a fascinating journey/setting. I can't wait to see what crazy stuff Kojima has in store for the second installment

The first game was one of the greatest stories every created, Kojima knows this is no longer for mass appeal and that he's now free from both Konami and needing to appeal to normies. It's so beautiful to see.

EVEN DURING THE FIRST WALKTHROUGH, I WAS EXCITED BY THIS PHRASE, AND AGAINST THE BACKGROUND OF THE FACT THAT I REMEMBERED ONE FRAME FROM THE TRAILER WHERE THE HERO WALKS AS IF ON RED STONES, I WAS SURE THAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME WE WOULD ALREADY TRAVEL TO MARS!
ALSO IN FAVOR OF THIS STORY WAS THE SYMBOL OF LUDEN HOISTING A FLAG ON THE MOON. AND I WAS QUITE SURE THAT IN THE SECOND PART WE WOULD INITIALLY GO TO THE MOON SINCE THE EARTH IS DEAD! HER STORY IS OVER AND IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO LIVE HERE ANYMORE! I'M A LITTLE CONFUSED IF WE DO EXACTLY THE SAME THING IN THE SECOND PART, I'M A BIG FAN, BUT THIS IS EXTREMELY STUPID. Yoko Taro is the one and only Legendary creator and producer. Kojima is a fool brainwashed by Hollywood dream. Everything about him is superficially made up.
if thats the case, u might want to put araki jojo on that list of hollywood brainwash too. Theres inheritelly nothing bad about kojima, hes like quentin tarantino, a visionaire in the hollywood scene who never got proper education about film making. Yoko taro is a great videogame director, probably the only director in the videogame scene that does philosphical pathway too weirdly.
The creator of JJBA has nothing to do with Hollywood stuff. His work is all about masculinity, more specifically mythology of Greek, Mayan, Arab also Bodybuilding with the pose of Greek statue. But Kojima has become more and more boring. And the people are highlighting him none other than the western producers itself to keep western gaming business alive. Talk about Star War Outlast, Dustborn, Marvel Comic, DC Comic games 🤣. Tbh very few wannabe indie devs made thorough the barriers of western crap.
On the other hand DMC5, Nier Automata, Black Myth Wukong? Mixture of Anime and realistic graphics that steal fans heart and won the game of the year.
