Mammoshka X is probably one of the smartest bosses, unlike the others, he actually tries to run away after seeing that he quite literally just cant win
That's definitively a reachable goal. There is the farmer boots which can transform coins dropped into beans to upgrade a stats. It normally doesn't work on dream ennemies, except with a first attack or with Luiginary attack (at least ball, don't for the others). So the plan is to go to a dream world, find somewhere with an ennemy horde and a stronger ennemy that appear alone or at two. You do first attack, get beans, flee and redo the cycle. After the game is finished, or by reaching rainbow rank, the best place to do this is a bloop and lots of spinies in the beach dream world, they'll also spawn super cansies to heal if you took damage. Once the bloop is killed in one hti of first attack making it impossible to flee, go to Neo Bowser Castle in the left of second right dream world where you had to destroy the flames, there is a mechakoopa fight accompanied with a Big tailed goomba. They'll also spawn miracle candies to heal. Here, even mechakoopas should nt be one-shotted so you'll have to use the luiginary ball for a while (not bad since once again, they give candies) until reaching a point of one shotting the mechakoopas (I had around 660 with the jump damage boost from ranking up). Advices: -If Luigi wear farmer boots, they won't work. Dreamy Luigi doing a first attack won't spawn beans. -Max out the moustache and attack stat on Mario, firstly, because he's the onnly one to be able to spawn beans, but moustache, because doing 100% lucky hit make more damage a LOT faster. In fact, I regret to not have given him the lucky hit damage boost when ranking up now that all attacks are lucky. The point of constant lucky hit is 420 stat. -Finally, some stats doesn't even need to be maxed out. Speed is useless when ourspeeding the fastest ennemy, moustache is already at its best at 420, BP is kind of uselessat one point, you don't care of having 300 or 900 that much, same with HP and defense if you can dodge. The only continiously important stat is attack which can still be played around to reach the same damage like with defense dropping/attack boosting/ all attack oosting badges. Once you have minimal turn in the boss medley, there's nothing really more to do. It took lot of times and you have to be focused on it for most of the time to get proper first attacks or doing the luiginary ball so you cannot just do it brainlessly, so it's time consuming enough. I don't even know how much time it took me but a lot that's sure and i didn't completely maxed since once again it's mostly worthless past a point. But that's very imaginable for someone to do it and success it, especially out of principles.
I didnt know of the flee strategy. I had come up with a different plan back when I played this (I never got to max stats though, only grinded 3 hours or so for the beans). I used the dreamworld where you fight agianst the Zeekeeper to grind. At the bottom there is a sort of pick a path/follow the coins puzzle room. That room is coded in a way that everything in it instantly respawns, including enemies. There is a Pelicrump right next to the right exist of the room so you can grind until a first attack from Mario kills all and then you can just do first attack, reset the room within 6 seconds and then repeat. Your strategy might be faszer though
I was able to do it too, and normally, this boss is one of the ones with the fewest life points among all the bosses individually speaking (800 Life Points if I'm not mistaken)
I absolutely hated Antasma’s bat swarm because of my inability to tell if he was in the foreground/background. And it got even worse in his late game rematch because not only did I have to face him again in the boss medley, but his significant stat boost made it to the point where I struggled to stay alive, even if I was the recommended level. Also Bowser Jr. was generally annoying & a dirty cheater.
Did you know if you jumped on the bats it deals actual damage to Antasma? The timing is not too difficult either: just jump when one of the bats is about to pass by you. It even works on normal Antasma
That I knew about while fighting Antasma X. It also makes the attack easier to dodge should he use it again. I then started wondering if it was possible to destroy all the bats over the course of multiple usages.
