This vid got me in tears man..i started to work when i was 19 and stopped going to school because my parents cant afford..now im 22 and got a pretty good position at work..but still cant go back to school because both my father stopped working and now i have to feed everyone at the house..basically all my money which is supposed to get me back to school is now all going to them..sad life..but this inspired me to continue going to college once everything is stable again..btw i finished 2 years in computer engineering..got 3 more years to go..phew!

ok so the reason you got such good gas milage is because 7th gear in all the new corvettes is a fuel saver gear. essentially it takes one of the 8 cylinders offline, meaning that it doesnt inject fuel or air its just dry. so yea. and btw Dan im 14 years old freshman in high school and litterally what you have accomplished is exactly how I have planned my life to be. Nobody in my imediate family went to college and that is their goal for me too, just to get a degree and see me happy and successful. Seriously the biggest fan ever, you have inspired me so much, keep up the awesome content, i love to see people work hard on something they love!

Actually it goes into 4 cyl mode when you put it on eco mode. Generally the last one or two gears on any manual car are economy gears. 5th is usually a 1:1 gear ratio.

i hate the idea of the gated shifting that blocks 2nd and 3rd when driving slowly and the auto blipper for downshifting taking away the point of heal and toe

I think you will find most manual cars have 4th gear as 1:1 especially before 6spd was common and 5th was "over drive" then added even more overdrive gears
thats why most dyno runs are made in 4th :)

BikeFlippazTv no that car came with a device in the engine that when you are cruising it runs on 4 cylinders not 8. The 4 that are not creating power are called dead cylinders.
Nick Timar yeah and it will fuck up your engine! Chevy has had a problem with it but they don't resolve it. My dad has a 07 avalanche that does the same thing and now he has to fix his motor because it said nope fuck you and your motor and broke some shit.

GM began putting it in vehicles in 2007 and i assure you that the technology has VASTLY improved since then.. my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT had DOD and it worked flawlessly.. and that was a mere 2 years later.. can't compare your 2007 avalanche with a 2015 corvette.. lmao

That's a farce to think if you don't go to college that you can't have nice things...you can in fact work your ass off and funnel your money to the right places and still sit pretty these days. College isn't for everyone, and it doesn't promise you a career. You perfect your talents and passions and turn them into a living.

The whole point of getting a degree is so you can have the knowledge base and credentials to get a job and make income. You already make very good income from UA-cam, etc. Why are your parents so concerned about a college degree when you're already making a killing doing something you love and something that makes you happy? I have one myself. So does just about everyone I know. Hell, Master's degrees are so common now that they dont hold the value they once did. I agree they help a ton for most people not only career wise, but in other areas in life as well. Now, so many people are improvising, adapting and overcoming by opening their own businesses which are successful, even without a degree.
@@casualguy393 a degree isn't anywhere near as important as experience and many other things now. Sure if your trying to get a specific job that requires it, then yes. But alot of the time it's not needed. I read something like for every 1 job that requires a degree there are like 10 that pay nearly the same and hire people based on experience.
I believe that's pretty accurate Keaton. I know some guys who are making the same or more as me, and they are tradesmen. They do have to sweat quite a bit more, but their jobs certainly aren't unbearable. As long as they invest and plan for the future, their outlook in old age is every bit as good as mine.
