Spielberg is still operating at the peak of his powers. Compositions, framing, lighting, editing, usage of music...everything in this sequence is a beauty to behold! 🙂
Honestly, this scene by itself could have been a short film all on its own. In 5 minutes without a word, we are told everything we need to know. Just heartbreakingly beautiful!
I love my action movies with lots of well choreographed fights and stuff exploding. But scenes like this are way more exciting to me than any gunfight or car chase.
I do not like Spielberg that much, but one has to admit that this is a masterpiece and that he stands as one of the greatest directors of all time. In addition to the excellent screenplay, the cast for this movie is irreprehensible.
This is Alessandro Marcello's Adagio from his concert for oboe and strings in D minor. Bach transcribed it to piano, so you may find it as BWV 974 II: Adagio.
I want to know if there's any source in the world to prove this really happened to Steven Spielberg discovering his mom having an affair. If not it's still a very powerful scene

This scene alone is an absolute masterclass in filmmaking and editing. Spielberg is unmatched and Bach’s Adagio what a piece!!
One of the greatest examples of what visual storytelling can achieve. ❤

Well, the film was both written and directed by Steven Spielberg, so I’d imagine the film is pretty accurate in terms of his discovery.
He talks about it in his interview with Colbert.
Source is him
@@anthonymartensen3164 thank you
That time Steven Spielberg’s mom cheated on The Riddler with Donkey Kong…
