🇨🇦 🇺🇸 SPEAK BETTER ENGLISH AT THE EDGE OF CANADA
Вставка

- In this English lesson to help you speak better English, we travel to the Canadian border. Unfortunately, I could not enter, but we tour my hotel room and learn lots of new English vocabulary words and expressions. We visit the border, walk around a little, and learn even more English. Then, I visit a restaurant on the Canadian border and eat two very American and Canadian things, a whoopie pie and a dish of poutine.

i mean amazing right so we have a little deck here we might call this a deck or a patio you know great for just sitting here looking at the lake maybe a couple drinks if you're into that if you drink alcohol if you don't drink alcohol of course don't have any drinks tonight but yeah beautiful so let's go into town and see what we can see
did you wait for me
so right in front of me is actually an international border international border it's it's a border between the united states and canada i am filming this in late july 2021. the border still closed i think august 8th august 7th there is talk of opening the border but right now if i wanted to get into canada i could not i could not i think i might be able to get across if i was going there for work or maybe a family member if if i had a family member that had a a medical emergency in canada but i don't have any of that so i know for sure i will not get across the border today i'm not even going to try i mean i don't mind getting kicked out of a 7-eleven they just asked me to leave you know the police aren't really involved i don't really want to fool around mess around near international borders so it would probably make a better video if i got arrested at the international border but um i want to keep my job teaching at my school so i'm going to skip getting arrested today sorry but i am standing at america's first mile here in fort kent maine i am standing right at the edge of route one so basically if i took this road and went south all the way to the end of the road route one i would end up in florida just across this river just across this bridge that is canada but of course we're not going there today i think we're going to eat here tonight at rock's family diner a couple just walked in and they said it was really good they said we should try the whoopie pies maybe i'll show you a whoopie pie i think that's a really american thing maybe like a main thing the state where i live in is maine might be a main thing or at least a new england thing northeastern part of the united states whoopie pies they're very good just not very good for you they've been around since 1945 so it's got to be pretty good right

🚗🛑 BETTER ENGLISH WITH AN AMERICAN ROAD TRIP ua-cam.com/video/DK38caBJbkg/v-deo.html
Τhanks for sharing it with us teacher!Great lesson!
Thank you! I mention you in a future lesson. I think it will be out on Tuesday. 😃
@@AmericanEnglishBrent Thanks Teacher!!I'm looking forward to it....
I think the room is ok, nice and cosy. To take the rest after the day spending at the lake the hotel seems to be great. The landscape you can observe from the deck is beautiful🙂. I love phrasal verbs with blow, you can blow down candles, the situation can be blown over, or a girl can blow you off😉. Have a nice day🙂
Totally agree! It was super relaxing on the patio that night.
Wow 😍😍😍. "America's first mile", I will persuade my husband to visit there with me.✈️🧳Your videos always
make me want to rewatch again and again, Thank you, Brent.
Oh, YaWen, that makes me so happy to hear that. We had a lot of fun up there.
@@AmericanEnglishBrent No kidding, I have pin📌 my Google Map 😆😆😆
I rewatch Brents every video again and again
Amazing lesson Brent!!! I would like to try poutine and whoopie pie!!!
They were so good, Vinícius!
Thank you so much for sharing! I hope you got some joy on that trip.
Thanks, Mahdi. We had a nice, relaxing trip.
Awesome lesson. Mesmerizing views from the Patio.❤️❤️
Thanks so much, Ashraf.
Hello ! Big thank you again ! I definitely love this kind of video! It's like I'm traveling myself. And I learn a lot of vocabulary too. This hotel is so pretty so 70th. And the view is splendid. Your country is so beautiful ! 😄
Thank you so much, Patty. I've only been to France once, but I'd love to go back soon. Very beautiful country, also.
@@AmericanEnglishBrent I wish I could go to visit the United states. It's in my bucket list at the first place. My daughter is going to Portland to teach French for this new year at the university ( August 16th - May 2022). I'm so exiting for her. She will be my eyes in this beautiful country. 😄 And it will be an amazing experience as a teacher in a foreign country.
@@pattycandle3596 That is amazing. Portland, Oregon or Portland, Maine?
@@AmericanEnglishBrent ow it's true you have "a" Portland too. It's Portland Oregan. 😄
Excellent lesson very good
Thank you! 😃
@@AmericanEnglishBrent you are welcome
♥️ Thanks, Brent! Maine is so unique.
Chocolate make my cloths shrink! I love this slogan! I’m not responsible! Haha!
Ha! You caught that saying. So funny.
haha she ducked out of the video pretty quickly. lol Brent, we could have had a conversation from across the river 😆
That would have been awesome. The St. John River, I believe.
@@AmericanEnglishBrent depends what part of Maine you were in. If you were in the northern part, is the Saint John River. If you were southern Maine then it’s St. Croix River.
@@Free99English Yeah, I was up at Fort Kent, really far north.
🤔@American English With This Guy perhaps a future collaboration video idea haha
I like your videos Brent when I watch you I feel better :) I like your travel videos too, you are good at making travel video. Actually doesn't matter what you explain about something, I like your explanation about anything. Thank you, say hi to Jamie, have fun 🤗
Glad you like them! I'll say hi. Next week, I should have a three part road trip video series. 😀
@@AmericanEnglishBrent You are good at teaching English as well , thx, good to see you, Brent ;)
@@semracnar9875 Thanks so much, Semra. You're good at learning English.
@@AmericanEnglishBrent I'm grateful :)
Great video, I learned a lot of new vocabulary
I’m so happy to hear that, Yimmy! 🙏🏼
looking forward to your whole American road trip. Thanks Brent.
Thanks, Leo. It is taking me quite awhile to edit, but I hope to have it done by the end of the week.
I've just watched this video and I'm about to fall asleep, and I got hungry when you were eating a whoopie pie🤣Hopefully, I won't wake up for a midnight snack😌
Thanks for the video, Brent! Loved it a lot!
Thanks so much, Elena. That whoopie pie was so good. I need to put another New England candy in a video, a needham. 😉
Woopi Pie!
Whoopie pie!
Thank you so much, it is really interesting.👍
Glad you liked it! Thanks, Gil.
Eye-pleasing view, magnificent scenery, just for the landscape it is worth the trip.Your lessons help me a lot and encourages me to learn more,i read about Fort Kent in English of course, and its History is interesting was erected in the summer of 1839 as an American border outpost during an undeclared war (international incident between New Brunswick and Maine). It is a coincidence but the motel were you are stayed is called the same as the hotel in the shining (overlook).
Jose, I'm impressed. I definitely thought The Shining, myself.
We always end up watching you eating something 😂😋 it's so funny 😁 great video Brent! lots of useful vocabulary and a very nice place, so close to Canada 🙋♀️
Thanks! 😃 Haha! Yeah, it seems I'm often eating on camera, Maria.
When I started to watch this video l hoped you would meet Bob the Canadian. He said once it would be great if you could meet and have a chat. But the border is closed and you can not. Anyway I like this video. It was interesting to have a look at a hotel room at the border. Thank you!
Thanks so much, Yelena. It seems like we will have to wait until next summer to meet up. Bob the Canadian will definitely be in the thumbnail if we meet each other. 😉
@@AmericanEnglishBrent what do you mean by "be in the thumbnail" 🙄
@@mowatinemowatine753 You'll see his picture before you click the video.
@@AmericanEnglishBrent thanks 🙏
The background music was good
Thank you!
Hi Brent, it was nice to see you teaching near the border. Maybe next time, you will be able to cross the Canadian🤞.
Hello Brent,it was nice to see you teaching near the border. Maybe next time, you will be able to cross the Canadian border 🤞.
Maybe one day! Maybe I’ll make it up to Ottawa. 😉
Only me here gave a comment here, You cannot meet mr. Bob? Sad.😔

Cool video,thank you so much.
I am from Brazil, please tell me where are you from?
I am from the state of Maine in the United States.
I read " chocolate makes my shirt shrink " in the hotel where did you have woopie pie. what does that mean ?
It's a joke because their shirt isn't shirking. Their belly is getting bigger. 😂
@@AmericanEnglishBrent 😂
6:34 hello teacher~would you tell me what is the name of this song ? It’s so calming and I love it !! Have a gd day!
I'm sorry. I totally forgot the name of the song. I get my music from something called Epidemic sound.
@@AmericanEnglishBrent dont feel bad about it.its completely fine!!thanks for the reply tho😉
Poor Jamie...she always needs to be on the lookout 😂😅
Telling people what’s the stuff called while touching it is a very very good way for English learners to acquire this language. Thank you, Mr. Brent. Uh… by the way, $106 per night made me heartbroken.🤧
Thanks so much, Jack. I hope the lesson helped. Why did the price make you feel heartbroken? Too expensive? Too cheap?
@@AmericanEnglishBrent Too expensive, Mr. Brent.
Are you going to visit teacher bob and have with he same lesson
I wish I could visit him. Unfortunately, we can not visit each other's countries at this time.
Sir,where is your darling.
