I appreciate seeing more mature women train and compete as this is an idea I am toying with at age 47 (though not in bikini). I appreciate your transparency regarding your health and have enjoyed watching your journey.
I watched this video at the right time! I have been noticing some tight spots and pain and wasn't taking the time to stretch after my sessions or get body work to help work out those tight spots. I have to make a point to add that into my schedule on a regular basis - so thank you for the reminder! Good luck with your surgery - praying for a speedy recovery!
I love doing my weight training in my bare feet or my viibrum 5 fingers. I am happy you got your skin checked. I hope your surgery goes well. Love Epson salt bath and electrolytes as well. I use Nuun for my electrolytes. Sauna is great to help the fascia to warm up for the stretching and using the ball for trigger points. Great video thank you
I really enjoy your videos. I look forward to them. I just turned 47 in April and am trying to lose weight. You are really inspiring and I think you're great! I know that cancer is no match for you. I am praying for you always GOD BLESS YOU IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME!🥰😍😘
That's fantastic that you are able to find a health care provider that will actually help you with perimenopause/menopause. I had to seek a doctor outside of my medical network because the 2 doctors I talked to would not do my bloodwork. They told me that they don't test sex hormones or that I'm not the right age for any hormone testing. I'm 61, does it really matter what age you are if you have questions about what your body is or isn't doing?
I pay out of pocket for a HRT doctor for everything but my progesterone which my gynecologist prescribed. My HRT doctor does my labs and consults. I started seeing someone outside my network 4 1/2 years ago when I was sick and tired of being told I was fine when I felt awful! Well worth the extra expense 🙌
Why is it that I have menopausal symptoms and not one of my doctors from, Primary, who specializes in women's health to Gynecology, a Menopausal specialist, & Rheumatology, Do not recognize the stiffness and joint pain in my legs specifically and overall cruddyness & fatigue do to the fact I am menopausal and have only put me on Lyrica that I have stopped! You have basically described what I am dealing with and have not been informed of any hormone replacement therapy and they have not connected the dots to part of my mystery illness!
I’m so sorry for your experience with medical professionals but I relate! I went through so many tough years in perimenopause and it wasn’t until I paid out of pocket for functional medicine/hormone replacement professionals that I started feeling better. Traditionally trained doctors know next to nothing about optimizing hormones and will tell you things - which I’ve heard- like “women don’t need testosterone”. It’s truly tragic.
the estradiol gave me good sleep & mood. However, it puffed me out and made me chunky. I gave it up and went on the conjugated equine estrogen (controversial but worked for me). Have you ever tried dessicated pork thyroid with natural T3? Your dedication is inspiring. Continued good luck on your journey. Thank you for your experience & insight as I start my own fitness adventure. I am not as disciplined as you are, but I need to have a goal in my life. I feel like I am floating aimlessly, I figure this might be just the right anchor and hobby for me.
Wow interesting! I have to do some research on estradiol options. And yes I started on natural dessicated thyroid - then went to Armour and now synthetic. We were trying to get a better handle on regulating and testing my T3. Best of luck on your fitness journey. Training and having performance goals brings me so much joy! I hope it will for you too 🫶💕
Hi Cindy! I have been following you now for awhile and I have been seriously lifting weights since Jan of this year. I would really like to get a coach. You speak so highly of yours. Do you mind me asking who she is? I have seen so many coaches online and most of them look really sketchy. I am just 50 myself this year and would love to work with someone who is a little older. Thank you Cindy ❤
Thanks for another informative video. In regards to HRT, I have a question. I am 53 and currently taking Estradiol and Progesterone. I know I could also use a testosterone supplement but doctors don't see to want to talk about this. Can I ask what you take? I think I am going to look into the pellets. Thank you!
I see a HRT doctor that I pay out of pocket because yes, traditional doctors don’t prescribe testosterone for women. Check your levels - mine was 0.1 when I tested it 4 years ago 🤦♀️ I started on the cream and did that for a couple years but my levels started to drop so I wasn’t getting a consistent enough dose with the cream. So I switched to injectable. I do 2 mg twice a week and that keeps me perfectly in range. I also take boron to keep my SHBG lower so that more of the testosterone is free and bioavailable instead of being bound up by SHBG. Hope that helps!
😊😊

Agreed!
Thank you so much 😊 I’m loving the community we are building here 🙌
All really helpful insight and tips for those of us women trying to weight train and feeling increased muscle and joint pain. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! 🙌💕
Great video! I am the poster child for not paying enough attention to mobility exercises. 😁
That’s very common! It seems like we all think we will get to it later and later never comes 😂

Thank you! I can’t tolerate the sauna - I’m a big baby with heat 😂
