As a composer myself, I can see this as a very useful tool. Not necessarily for the final product, but for the creation process as well as presenting mockups/demos for clients. The ability to take my male vocal ideas and instantly hear them in a convincing female voice is a great compositional tool.
Some people freaked out when multitrack tape recording became a thing and were critical of how the recordings were manipulated via drop ins, splicing takes and tuning instruments down, then slowing the tape speed to perform complex parts more easily (at a slower speed).. im aware of Master Of Puppets using this technique and i have a feeling Appetite For Destruction guitar solos may have used this technique though im not sure... Anyways a great video, interesting and I think a creative use of AI. it can be used tastefully and like you said having a harmony or another vocal feature with your own voice is pretty cool
I guess the big question is: will this be replacing Melodyne in your workflow? I'm a mediocre singer at best. This would be cool to have in the toolbox. Great tutorial, Rhys.
I’d say if you already own melodyne, you would probably just tune it in your daw before uploading. But if you don’t have a good pitch correction plugin, it’s a nice additive to have handy!
Thanks man! The acoustic is actually completely raw 😮💨 Neumann km184 about 5-10cms from where the neck joins the body of the guitar. I took advantage of the proximity effect to try and make it nice and warm sounding and scoop the mids a little. Was pretty happy with how it sounded!
I see people in some videos on this subject and other videos making a big fuss about this particular software. I honestly don’t get it. It’s a tool. That’s all it is. If someone is an amazing singer, I can’t imagine why they would feel threatened by this. Or even if they’re decent. This does not replace song writing or actually creating a melody or emotion of anything of the sort. I am not threatened by VST just like I shouldn’t feel threatened by this. Will some people abuse it and try to make a quick buck? Absolutely. Will it replace artists in any way? Absolutely NOT. If I am an OK singer and want to lay down some ideas before I bring in an actual vocalist and things of that nature. I see this as an absolute game changer. That I can make a vocal mix ahead of time before maybe bringing in the vocalist for the track. Or maybe you forgot to track harmony (or the artist could not afford the studio time) you can use this to lay down some gang vocals or harmony etc etc.
It really depends on what you want to use it for. Could be great to make a female vocal to pitch a song idea. Or even just add harmonies of a different voice to add more depth. Plenty of ways to use it that don’t have to be to replace your own voice.
I mean… it’s an interesting topic for sure. Do we start banning midi instruments, pitch correction, quantizing? I think it’s one of those things where it can be used creatively still. But each to their own!
But also in this case, it’s not writing the melody or the lyrics - I did that, it’s still my creation, my art - but it’s just a different voice/tone. Like switching a midi sound for another. That’s how I see this sort of tool.
@@spinlightstudiosI get it but I’d rather in bring real people that way there is real emotion and feel. I know it would be time consuming, but the result would be better and it’s not pandering to the Ai bull crap.
This is actually scary... someone that isn't that great of a singer can now make fake harmonies, and make them sound incredible. Don't matter what you say, it's cheating!
Lol 🤣 I don't think he meant that intentionally Does this imply too when I want to pitch correct just my vocals without wanting to change to another singer?@@spinlightstudios
@@fnicetlo haha yeah I was just playing 🤣 Do you mean is it “cheating” if you use pitch correction on your vocals? 😅 if so I’m happy to cheat on all my songs 😂

Thanks Legend 😁
Not bad but that acoustic sounds heavenly mate! Can I ask for some tips on how to achieve that?
+1 on this. That guitar sounds amazing.

Yesssssssirrrrrr
It changes your voice to another person’s tho. Which isn’t so fun

So...what about Plankton from SpongeBob?
Haha that would be fun 😂
How about AI concerts in the near future, so humans will pay for a ticket to hear an AI Band haha, so bizarre
If there's no market for it, they could create an AI audience to listen - then clap at the end of each song.
Hahaha
Step one:
Don’t.
😂😂
No AI should not be anywhere near art of any form 😡

@gene does that mean a producer who uses drum loops instead of drums recorded in a studio is also cheating?
Wait until you encouter Suno 😂
@@spinlightstudios no dude. You're a great singer. I'm just saying that people who REALLY aren't will now be able to fool everyone!
