    Unfortunately fake cartridges have gotten REALLY good. It can be hard to tell the difference. Make sure you are thorough if you’re buying an expensive game and want the oem one!

      One way you can check to see if that Pokemon Black 2 is authentic is shine a flashlight through the cartridge and if you can see the light on the other side and its a reddish color its authentic

      Do fakes work the same?

    • @JacobRTWO
      @JacobRTWO  10 місяців тому +3

      @@XRGDJthey sometimes have more issues than the real game. Or saves get corrupted. They also just look a bit different, so you don’t get that authentic look if that’s what you’re looking for. Tbh though, I’ve never extensively used fake games.
      Honestly the biggest issue is when people try to sell the fake game at real game value - for example a real Pokemon game might be worth $100, whereas the fake one is worth like $5. So it’s easy to scammed there

    To determine if you have a fake DS Pokemon game, check the following three things:
    - On the top of the cartridge (the actual physical top as if the game was standing up and you were looking down on it), you will see a series of small rectangles. This is where the molding for the cartridge's plastic cuts off. If these small rectangles are not there and the top is smooth and flush to the cartridge, you most likely have a fake DS game.
    - Check the little arrow below the game label that tells you the direction that it should be inserted into the system. This arrow should be "glazed" onto the front of the cartridge, if that makes sense. Run your fingernail over this arrow, if you can feel an indentation where the arrow is carved into the cartridge, the DS game is 100% fake.
    - If there is a black serial code on the back of the cartridge, the first few letters should match the same code found on the label of the cartridge (the one after NTR or TWL). Not having a code on the back doesn't inherently mean the cartridge is fake, but if the codes do not match the DS game is 100% fake.

    If you want Horror games, you'll have fun with Doki Doki Literature Club.
    Those two blue shelled GBA games are fakes as well. There definitely is no Super Mario Land 1 & 2 release and while there is a version of SMB3, its label does look different.

      Definitely. SML DX is also a romhack, no dx version of that game. They're really nice looking carts though.

    Pokémon black 2 looks to be real after comparing it my own cart. Also Nintendo a used a higher capacity cart/color since black/white 2 was a whopping 512mb "the biggest size ever on a ds cart". The game was also DSI/3DS enhanced to take advantage of the extra hardware boost/performance gain over a standard ds/ds-lite.

    Here's something cool about that particular Mario Vs Donkey Kong Cartridge; it may have been an older, more difficult version of the game, before getting a revision or update for subsequent copies.
    I can't absolutely confirm as much, but it seems to be more difficult to achieve perfect scores on that specific cartridge compared to any roms I've since found and emulated. Heck, funnily enough, I ended up buying MvDK again on GBA, and there's one lava level that's different between my new physical cartridge I have now and that particular one I sent you.
    If memory serves, I believe they added a platform to that particular level's starting area to improve completion times, because good grief, achieving a perfect score on that one level was impossible for me back on that cartridge. Even the Switch remake has that platform that the GBA cartridge I sent you didn't.

    Black 2 should be a real one. As far as I am aware there are no real copys of Black 2 and White 2 out there. The ones you can buy on Ali etc are all R4 cards with a micro sd card and the rom on it. I think I read one time that there is some copy protection stuff going on, so the fakers basically just cheaped out and used R4 cards for those games.

    I have been buying lots of games myself. And I need to sell more of mine cool games and I'm thinking about whatnot app. Can you just sell your stuff by adding to buy now without doing any shows on there?

  • @Rosa_Canina
    @Rosa_Canina 10 місяців тому +1

    When I buy games online I always check if you can get the same game fake on Ali etc. Because they dont fake every single game out there. So if its a game thats commonly faked I try to buy a CIB, because CIB is faked a lot less and even if it is you can see the fake much easier with a box.
    For DS Games China fakes mostly Mario, Zelda, Phoenix Wright, Pokemon and Castlevania. A few others are in there, too (TWEWY, Kirby Ultra Star, Valkyrie Profile, Etrian Odyssey...). Its mostly bigger known names, less the actually expensive stuff. Havent seen a fake Radiant Historia or SMT for the DS... yet.

    Dude those transparent blue GBA carts are fake but they are also not trying to be real and it's obvious esp that Mario Land 1 & 2 DX for one those are orig GameBoy games that were never even on the GBA plus they are color hacks in which give color to the two Mario Land GB games which is pretty darn cool. They also made a Kirby's Dream Land DX hack! And the Mario 3 (Super Mario Bros. Advance 4) WAS a real game but that specific cart includes all the extra E-Reader stuff that you couldn't get without one! There are deffo some neat carts!
