- Johan Oldenhage is als kind al in de ketel met Citroën-toverdrank gevallen. Zijn vader werkte bij de lokale Citroën-dealer en had vanaf eind jaren ‘70 een eigen Citroën-dealerschap. Vaak nam hij van die zweefmobielen mee naar huis waarin Johan heerlijk kon spelen. Vooral de verlengde ‘Prestige’-versie van de Citroën CX bood tussen voorstoelen en achterbank een ruime speelplaats. Het meerijden in die hydropneumatisch geveerde Citroëns liet op Johan een onuitwisbare indruk achter: zo comfortabel hoort reizen te zijn, vindt hij nog altijd.

These executive cars should be what Citroen makes. When Peugeot acquired Citroen it should have made Citroen a premium brand just like Audi in VW. It's a shame that now Citroen has to make all the rubbishes without clear difference from Peugeot branded car at all.
Hao Cheng Tout à fait d'accord. Citroën avait tous les éléments pour devenir une vraie marque Premium. Malheureusement cela aurait relégué Peugeot en second plan, moins prestigieux. Et ça le lion ne le voulait pas. C'était lui le Conquérant et pas l'inverse.
Bref cette défiance interne à duré pendant longtemps au détriment de Citroën. Aujourd'hui c'est du passé mais c'est DS automobiles qui a repris le flambeau du Premium au sein du groupe PSA.
Citroën se contente d'être un constructeur généraliste "feeling good" Une sorte de Skoda Français "Simply clever"
Well said and it’s now even worse with Stellantis, at least for developing markets, Citroen cars are rubbish, the new C3 is just slightly better than a Renault Kwid.
I have one and it’s wonderful. However road surface noise can be annoying. It’s so quiet you hear sounds you never notice in other cars. One weird thing is the huge radiator grille funnels the sound of the vehicle in front of you into the cabin. That is entertaining as it is not loud but you can tell if it’s a bus, car, diesel, whatever. I love this car. Truly, I love it and I would sleep with it if I had a big enough bed. People coo like doves when they see it and refuse to get out after I give them a lift. This can be a little annoying unless they are attractive open minded women. But one can’t have everything, but a C6 means one has almost the best thing life can offer. Even god wants one but he is an arsehole so doesn’t deserve one. Onlangs een paar dagen mee mogen rijden, wel een klasse apart. Vooral de rust in de auto. Een auto om je relaxed mee te verplaatsen, bij voorkeur met muziek van St Germain in de wisselaar.
Het is misschien raar, maar zo'n hydropneumatisch geveerde Citroën geeft mij hetzelfde gevoel als een Jaguar XJ. Het is niet hetzelfde qua rijden, maar het geeft wel dezelfde emotie (althans bij mij).
`C5 Break 2.0 en een C6 V6 2.7 HDI voor de deur. Hier woont een gelukkig mens zonder ermee te pronken. Joie de vivre.

Unfortunately most garages, even Citroen sympathetic garages just can't cope with the C6, there's just not enough of them to know them well, so they are a problem to own, especially in the UK - a great shame, but typical 'classic' Citroen ownership problems!!
I agree 100% - the last truly magic Citroen in the iconic lineage of DS, CX, XM & SM.

I had a new 1978 CX Prestige 2400 EFI 5 speed with leather. Magnificent.
After many IDs, DSs & GSs.... loved it heaps.
So much of a massive leap forward from the DS.. fab pod controls, cyclops speedo & tacho, single wiper, concave self cleaning rear window.
Underneath it all the hydro-pneumatic self levelling suspension, power self centering steering and body on rubber mounts to two 'longerons' part chassis.
Many don't realize the quantum leap forward of the CX from the incredible innovation of the iconic DS.

Ik ben vandaag vanuit Eindhoven bij je in je garage geweest, en ben zeer tevreden met het geleverde werk.
Je hebt zelfs de onderhoud historie van de wagen (een C6) uit geplozen.
Daar herken je goed werk aan en een oog voor detail.
Je partage le même amour pour les Citroën.✍️ des voitures avant-gardiste et les plus confortable au Monde.💜✍️✌️

É estranho. Mas é a sombra no paralama e não aparece o pneu todo.
How DS5 compares to this? Better or worse
DS5 has no hydropneumatic suspension so it rides no as good as C6.
I'm afraid they don't compare at all, the C6 is way above the DS range, even the DS5 can't touch a C6.
Mooie wagen, maar de 400 kilo gewichtstoename tov de XM is toch wel jammer. Aankoopprijs en styling kunnen ook niet tegen zijn voorgangers op in mijn ogen :)
In 2015 7 weken in gereden, nadat ik hem had ingeruild voor mijn Saab 95 2.0 T 2004.
C 6 was 2 jaar jonger en wilde dat wel eens proberen.
Maar viel tegen. Weliswaar zeer comfortabel, maar niet vooruit te branden, lomp, log zwaar en niet echt goed sturend. Zag bovendien een hoop onkosten aankomen. Mooie wagen voor de citrofielen, maar niet voor mij. Gelukkig was mijn Saab nog niet verkocht en heb hem maar snel weer terug genomen.
