This is how you do a walk around video people! Well done man. Excellent build.
Thanks!
Very cool. Hearing that sound coming from a lifted Wrangler made me smile.
Robert B Over 2 years later and it still makes me smile
This jeep is this mint IN NEW YORK?!
I was expecting cali until I saw those registration & inspection stickers.
Makes this even more impressive. Good shit!
This is fantastic. I never really gave much thought to putting a turbo on the ol 2.5l but it looks like it might be worth it in the future. (Rebuilding it now)
Keep making videos. Quality info and very well put together.
Thank you!
Can we get a road test video and an off road video.
Love your work and research.
Agreed, you did a fantastic job on the turbo install and making the video
Wow that's A work in to Jeep ,
I'm in the process of converting my Jeep in to electric.
Great video 👍 you really know your stuff .
Damn! You have some knowledge!
Thanks!
Dude you are great.
Please keep making videos
Thank You! More to come
I agree! Very impressive
I have an ‘04 SE and would love to have that turbo setup. Great job! 👍🏽
I got an srt-4 they run 15psi stock but mine is running a big turbo with 20psi and it's insane! I want to get a Jeep Wrangler and swap one into it because it would be a beast
This is an awsome explanation 👌 its the video we have all been looking for
What your rough $$ into this turbo kit youve built
Been thinking of doing this to my 06 jeep with 2.4 in it, I also have the 6 speed too. Almost identical jeeps
Let me know if you want a kit ZackFab171@gmail.com
Zack Fab hey would this work on a 2.5 97 wrangler ?
I was glued the whole time. Awesome build and great video hope to see more soon!:D
Thanks! More to come
Zack Fab can't wait!!
Nice Jeep bro! Would love to turbo my 4.0L someday
Hey Kyle love your videos,too
@@danbemman2271 Thanks Dan!
I would watch that video
Excellent video. Thinking about doing this on my 2.5L
Awesome presentation and outcome!
I got a t4 twinscroll and a built jeep edz motor forged in the pt with a souped up dodge caravan transmission..
Ill do this to with my kit to the pt cruiser.. awesome
WOW - this is an amazing video and a cool project. You have skills dude!!!
Greg Seale Thank you!
I’m getting ready to replace my tensioner bolt and idler pulleys sooo... looks like I’ve gotta lot of learning to do.
Impressive, I’m amazed at the mechanically inclined
Excellent presentation!
Beautiful jeep a master piece (I want one )
clean build! Looking to turbo my 97 TJ. Looks lke I can pull it off the same way you have done it! Thanks for sharing.
I’m impressed with the knowledge nice build
bfill32 Thanks!
Wow. Absolute kill! Would love to do this on my 2.4
Thats a shorter hose for the coolant great job.. put a bigger twinscroll on it with agp manifol and keep royal purple in the motoryou can run an intake fron the turbo with a hole for an air sensor and splic into your exiting air sensor..
If you get a miss get bigger plugs.. wider tires now too.. and solid motor mounts..and youll need a turbo airtex or oem fuel pump from a turbo version..
Excellent.
Great video man. Thanks.
Dave Harrison Thanks!
Thank you for posting this video I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ with a 2.4 really thought about putting a turbo kit like that on there and I was not sure if all the parts I would need for it and what I would run into. I’ve been really been look for others idea of putting a turbo on a jeep and you are the only one so far that I know has done it. Very nice color to your jeep overall(mines navy blue). And awesome video overall too!!
Great build great video. Whoever gave a thumbs down is just a hater. Keep it up man.
Garrett Pittman Thanks!
Nice man!! I have a 2.5 I'm trying to squeeze a little more out of and trying to get ideas.
Nice build man👍🏻
Very well done! I'm impressed.
Beautiful jeep man! Great color!
Excellent job!
Amazing work! everything looks great ans sounds awesome! i know how underowered these 4 cyl tj's are. I have an 01 with the 2.5 and i really wish someone would do this with one and show how they did it. i would love to make my own turbo kit i just don't have access to all the (more expensive lol) tools like a tig welder, tubing benders. The 2.5 is a great little engine, i get 18-20 back roads driving just wish it had even a little more power, mostly for hills... Keep up the good work!
dan Thanks! Hope to have a 2.5 kit soon. I don’t know anybody with one so I don’t have a reference to build a kit off of. If you live near NY shoot me an email.
Any word on 2.5 turbo?
@@zackfab8847 Status?
The ax-5 trans that came with the 2.5l can't handle the extra power. The newer 2.4l had stronger new process trans. Consider that weak point before engine mods
I wanna see more videos of this jeep if you still have it
nice job man
Thanks
Great video. Sweet build. Wish I had your knowledge so I could do the same to mine.
Jeep 2.4 Let me know if you need help or would like to order a kit.
What would a kit cost? In very interested. I just rebuilt my engine and currently sitting at 3k miles
@@stephenskwaryk9665 Shoot me an email @ ZackFab171@gmail.com
Great job man. Keep it up.
Thanks!
Awesome video. Going to watch a few more times, but could you start answering at least SOME of the questions in the comments?
How did this change the performance, on and off road?
You said it helped you keep up on the highway? My 2.4 TJ never had a problem with that. I tend to leave my cars stock, except for the suspension. They're cars. When I want speed I ride my motorcycle.
Idk where you’re from. But in VA the 2.4 struggles a lot on the highway. Any minor incline and you have to put it into 5th, and major incline and you need to drop to 4th, at which point. You’re screaming at 4500 rpm maintaining the speed limit on the highway. Not very viable. The 2.4 running 33s is great for city but for the highway it just doesn’t have the pep. When you’re in 4th in the highway you can physically see the fuel gauge dropping and money leaving your wallet. I wouldn’t be surprised if this turbo increases mileage on the 2.4.
Well done!! Very informative!!
I like where it dumps out. I hate the tail pipe over the axle.
Sounds like a SRT4 neon cool mods
I have a patriot 2.4L and been thinking bout getting the turbo parts from the srt4 caliber since they have the same engine
Would this work on a 2.4L Patriot? Great video and very impressed with your project.
Yes the kit is actually really cheap too
I have a 2015 Patriot 4x4 (AWD to anyone who knows real 4x4) w/ the Hyundai Auto trans that I'm thinking about trying this with. Thanks for the info!!
Hello nice work, I've already thought about replacing the engine for srt4, but I'll try first what it looks like it works. I'm mostly terrain but the horses are good :-D
I like the idea of running an enricher versus a complete $600.00 piggyback
Great tool for low boost on a budget
so you didnt up your injector size at all i have put a turbo on my 2006 2.4l tj as well and i didnt ad the split second enricher (yet) but like you said it dose run in closed loop i have the wide band o2 installed and it keeps the fuel mixture pretty good untill i hit about 5 to 6psi i have a 7psi spring installed but i run out of fuel if i let it rev at that boost level was wondering if you have stumbled across a upgraded injector i would like to double the size of the injector and then put a 2bar map sensor in it off a srt4 they seem like they would work and maybe putting in a split second module to deal with the timing
Hi Zach thanks for posting this video it's helping alot of us jeep enthusiasts I did everything as you specified but only one !! Red light turns on on the enricher not both . I wired the enricher directly to the battery with a 10amp safety fuse connector could that be a problem?? Thanks man much appreciated 👍
Turbo is awsome I have a 2.5 ltr tj 98 registration , have seen the kits you are producing am very interested in purchasing a kit in the hopefully near future can you please work out the cost of your kit plus shipping charge to the uk England if you could also do the turbo also it would save a lot of running about this end trying to obtain one to fit as so far the only one available from the breakers yards is the toyota supra model and are like hens teeth to find or like you I could probably obtain one on ebaybut would be more expensive over here . Good luck with your buisness venture buddy in producing the kits I think you will find a lot of tj owners over here will also be getting in touch , excellent videos . Dave S
Cool video....Will this work on the 98 TJ 2.5...regards
Truth! Factory engine is just fine! Creates just enough power if you know how to drive it! I watched this video years ago and thought adding a turbo might be cool just to keep extra performance just for fun! How is your jeep to this day? Curious! Oh, and seriously from watching these videos and other some phycos showed up in our local stores doing bits on turbos as if they thought taunting would speed up the process! Bensons to be exact, people are spun! Anyway, is your vehical still running well with the turbo installed? Any issues? Turbo fan solid still? What type of turbo did you buy? Cool if you can buy the parts without polotics or border costs
Said this on another comment but. Idk where you’re from. But in VA the 2.4 struggles a lot on the highway. Any minor incline and you have to put it into 5th, and major incline and you need to drop to 4th, at which point. You’re screaming at 4500 rpm maintaining the speed limit on the highway. Could u post a build sheet of everything u used? I want to do this to my jeep this spring
Amazing I'm sure!!!!!! I just don't understand why everyone's gagues are flickering like that? Seen that within alot of videos for some reason
Gauges run at 60hz and sometimes your camera records at 24, 30, or some hz other than 60hz. That means there’s a difference in time between when the led flickers and the camera shutter operates. This causes the flickering you see.
Can you still build the kits ? I see just the manifold available now.
Awesome dude. How much horsepower did you gain? And you getting better or about the same gas mileage? Also you still running the stock gas tank or got a bigger one in? One last thing think this would work for a YJ wangler?
Let it rev out.
Why not just run the turbo coolant in line with the hot side of the heater core and negate using any t's. would actually make your vent hotter as well
very awesome video! made things very clear! could you tell me what BOV are you using?
Very impressive... but closed loop is a normal thing when highway driving, open loop would worry me.
Are you ever going to do any driving videos?
Great video, any chance this would be possible on the 2.5L in the earlier TJs?
Hey Guys, Selling an improved and more powerful FULL Turbo/exhaust kit as well as a Naturally Aspirated Performance exhaust kit.

I have a full SRT4/wrangler swap. Gt45 turbo, water to air intercooler, custom intake manifold, BBK throttle body, AX15. All you need it a clutch. I'll sell the whole setup for 2500.
where are you located?
Are you still selling setup?
Also you increased the size of your aluminum tubing to 2.5" from 2" on the outlet of the compressor. Can you help my understand why you went that way.
Bought 2" tubing and 2" intercooler. For my T3 w/AR.63 and external wastegate and BOV.
I love your "split second" set-up.
I'd like to pick your brain. And send you pix of my build.
Hey Dan, Lots of debate out there on sizing intercooler piping. My .02 cents: You want to use the smallest piping possible that still flows enough to meet your needs. Larger than necessary piping increases lag time slightly with no measurable gain. 0.4 Mach (~300 mph ish) is the point at which air becomes turbulent and losses in efficiency start to occur exponentially. The key is to stay under that speed. You can calculate the speed using your volume flow rate and the cross sectional area of the pipe. Smaller piping increases the velocity of the air flowing through it so you want the right balance. I chose 2.5" because it is a common size that had laying around. My turbo has hardly any lag to begin with so i was not worried about any lag issues.
Hey Zach! Thank you for the reply. That's what i figured was your reasoning. I've been working on mine for a couple yrs now. After i tore down the engine and made the decision to go turbo, then my house caught fire 2 yrs ago and the Jeep took a back seat. Now we're in a new home and pole barn I'm slowly gotten things reorganized and starting on a mock build on the engine stand and working out some details.
I'll try to send you some more pix of my build.
How much "get up and go" "seat of your pants" feel do your feel you got? Or have you ever gotten it dyno'ed ?
Thanks for your creativity and video.
I have watched and studied your work many times or more.
I hope we can keep in touch With the progress of our work.
Thanks again and Blessings to you and your family this Christmas.
What pulley bolt did you use to gut and remove the ac compressor
I really need to know how to wire my split second And guages
One thing is for sure ......you got a lot of room under there
did you ever raise the boost? How has the combo changed?
Could this kit fit my 2000 TJ wrangler
Did ya get a bump in mpg when your smooth on it
Are you still building these kits?
i have a 2006 and would like to know stock Hp and finished Hp and total cost of the build. thank you and very nice work !
I wish i had a dyno in my area but it makes a TON of power. I turned it up recently and can spin the tires in 2nd gear on a slightly wet road. Doing 75+ mph on my commute is great as well.
Are you still making this manifold? Can I get a price on the manifold and adapter plate? And then a price for all the pieces you make to turbo one of these
how much did all of this cost?
Nice video but should've picked a longer parking lot!
I will have another video shortly!
What do you charge for the full turbo set up? Manifold and all.. thanks.
Nice work man. I wanted to do this to mine years ago but just wound up v8 swapping it lol really good work on the turbo man. Is there a noticeable difference?
Huge difference! Like a whole different engine
Did you put it on a dyno ? What were the numbers ? Are you getting over 200/200 ?
What turbo did you use and manifold
how much more power and torque did it give you?
THE question.
But no answer
Must be minimum as we got go answer, well I don’t need anymore as I got a jk now
Is there any way to run 87 octane fuel in mine?
Do you still have it?
great job man, could you provide me some info on the electric fan you use for this? looks very thin i need one like that but can find anything but thos chinesse ebay ones,
thanks in advance
I'm using the stock fan! The 2.4s have an electric fan factory.
What’s the performance hp and torque with it installed?
Are the stock injectors good enough to not lean out after being at boost pressure for a while?
😍
Are you still selling exhausts? Not getting any response to my emails?
About How much do you think you put into your setup?
What’s the top speed with the turbo?
What injectors are u using ?
Good job man ware u from maybe we can collab I’m boosting my 2.4 91 yj also
A 91 yj has 2.5l not a 2.4 so if you don’t even know that I don’t think you should touch your engine.
Any way to avoid cutting the motor mount? would another not to AN fitting with a bend work around this issue?
Carlos Colonia Yes! A 45 degree 4an fitting solves the problem without having to cut the motor mount. I now have one and I recommend them to everyone
Is it possible for you to get us an up dated video. I'm building a 05 SE modified 2.4 . My wife says my SE is SExy.
I'm planning on doing one soon! Stay tuned
Zack Fab hey Zack, where can I get an exhaust manifold like the one you made. Are they still available. Please!
Why don't you buy tha same parts you have on the video and put it up for sale on Ebay as a kit and make some money?
Need a 4.0 turbo kit lol
Is the cooling lines for the turbo come from the heater core, does that mean you have to run the heater core constantly?
The heater core always has a continuous flow of coolant.
Hey Zach. Is there any reason you didn't use a BOV?
BOV are not necessary at low boost. Compressor surge does not do any damage. And i like the sound
whats your wheel setup?
