Such a delightful look at Ali's system. I really appreciate this kind of behind-the-scenes look at how people apply BYSB practices. Always helpful to hear specifically how you're using particular apps for different purposes. Evernote is my main Capture tool (for over ten years now) but I have to say I really love my Mac's native Stickies app for quick captures. I have one sticky note set to "float" and while I'm watching a video or in a Zoom call I can jot down notes without having to click away to another app. Then later I can paste the contents of that sticky into Evernote. I also appreciate how tiny the sticky's footprint is on the screen when I'm not using it.
It’s overwhelming to those who don’t have this much going on in their head. But this is relieving to me , someone who has all this in my head whether I want to or not. My favourite bit of this video was that beautiful MacBook cover. My second favourite part was the example of looking up info in your roam space and finding useful stuff. Once you have enough notes in there, it makes it so much more efficient to look there first rather than Google.

An absolute freaking nightmare for someone with combined type ADHD!!!!! It almost feels like, "If I use more apps than you... I’m better. “How can you build a 2nd with apps as simple as MinimaList for example! I really doubt it.
I'm new to this system, admittedly, so my comment is coming from someone who is just starting to review the book and ideas presented there. But from this example, it seems that this system is highly complex with several different applications that seem like overkill from my perspective. I am looking for ONE primary capture tool, to consoldiate and centralize my thoughts for work, school, personal growth, personal life, learning, etc. I'm looking for simplicity, rather than a complex ecosystem of tools, so I hope i find that in BASB which is what I was hoping to glean from it.
I can relate. Simplicity was key for me too. I would encourage you to just pick an app and start capturing. I have a bullet journal that I use to capture most things. If I’m on the train or doing anything where my phone is more convenient or appropriate, I capture stuff with Apple Notes. Just start with one tool and if you realize that something is missing that your tool of choice can’t do, then add another. Start simple and get complex, if necessary. One tool might be all you need.

It’s nice you have the money for all those apps, but not everyone does. Do you have a video on a second brain budget version like for students for example?
here about notes app iphone is second brain information personalisation..(2d)
…more (3d) your own knowledge creation / customisation ..content / value creation..(uEx and UI process …your own customised frontend protocol..
awesome sharing :)
An absolute freaking nightmare for someone with combined type ADHD!!!!! It almost feels like, "If I use more apps than you... I’m better. “How can you build a 2nd with apps as simple as MinimaList for example! I really doubt it.

Hey Ali,
You mentioned that you're not a fan of PARA... Can you expand on that? Why don't you like it? What do you use instead?
@@sethsuplin4778 yeah I have used Apple notes in the same way for years, but I have lots of stuff decentralized in browser bookmarks etc. I want to bring them into one cohesive system, so I was hoping to level up
Its so complicated, Im happy with my notepad
Tiago, could you do a video for us who are stuck in an Microsoft Offixe 365 ecosystem for work? (Onenote, Teams, MS ToDo, etc.)
Does anyone know the app or tool they have used in the video to create the graphic representation? Thanks!
