This M18/R43 Pro vertical gaming handheld has revealed a pleasant surprise! The controls are great. The screen is nice at all angles. It has a RK3566 chip, and it's very Hadukenable and Shoryukenable!
God of War Ghost of Sparta looks and runs better than Chains of Olympus does. It was a balst.
Check near the end of the video for Ghost of Sparta gameplay.
Now we just need CFW!
More games to test. More videos to come.
Thanks for watching!
Please help me out with a like if you don’t mind 👍
Nice to see it isn't a total loss. As an RG405v owner I like the form factor. I hope it gets some attention from the gods of modding please, it might be a good buy than. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!
@@OGTechNick How many FPS are there in God of War?
I can't say because the settings have been heavily scaled back, but it has very noticeable frame skipping on PSP
Great showcase man! I appreciate what you do.
Thanks man. Likewise!
Olá, sou brasileiro, obrigado por mostrar este aparelho, quando sair uma cfw, é certeza que psp roda melhor
Thank you for looking at this device. I’ve been so curious to see this. Love it. Can you do more on this and let us know if they excluded the good Nintendo games or not. That’s always the thing that makes or breaks it for me. Lol
Will do!
'Haduken-able' and 'Shoryuken-able' I feel you 🙂
I feel Russ, tbh. 😉
People have been saying that about controller dpads for 20 years, tbh. Does Russ’ wife know you feel him? 😉
Nice little showcase of what this thing can do. It's certainly more performant than I thought. Since filming this video have you got around to testing "Outrun 2006" on the M18/R43P, or did this unit lose its luster pretty quickly?
I haven’t tested OutRun 2006 on this one yet but based on the performance of some of the other games I don’t think it’ll run very well. I think it has to do with this console having limited RAM.
I’ve been testing the new E6 Plus by GameMT and it runs OutRun 2006 like a champ! It has a dual boot Linux/Android OS (unfortunately no google play services) It’s still pretty cool now that I side-loaded RetroArch, PPSSPP, and a few other emulators. It’s working great for an RK3566 chipset. I’m using the Android side much more than the Linux now that I have it all configured. ETA Prime didn’t do it justice. I should have a video up within the next few days. Sorry for the lack of posts recently. Things have been tough here. I hope to regain my momentum real soon.
@@OGTechNick - I saw ETA's video too. I still like ETA Prime; so I don't want this to sound harsh, but, lately he can be too rushed for his own good. I don't expect him to channel his inner Russ; but, a little more effort would've been appreciated. There was a time when ETA Prime would've made the effort.
Running a reasonably new version of Android while being reasonably cheap, having reasonable power, and sporting a reasonably big screen is kind of the point of this device. There are plenty of handhelds existing roughly in this price range that have big screens and run Linux; that green Powkiddy you made an hour-long video about a while back comes to mind. How many Android handhelds are like this? I agree 100% that ETA didn't do the E6 Plus justice, and I don't even own the thing yet!
I don't know if you saw my comments under some of the other E6 Plus videos on UA-cam; but, in them I asked a few questions and you straight up answered every one of them here. Thank you.
As we get older life stops giving us things and starts doing its best to take them away. I don't know the specifics of what you're dealing with; but, I know that you're a good dude and I wish you all the best in fighting whatever it is that you're fighting.
You have to consider the low resolution and also the frameskip that may be activated.
have you found an alternative os for this device? i'm not using it because i deeply hate having all setups locked! also i don't understand why it blocked nds despite there being retroarch!
Not yet. I don’t use it for those same reasons. I’m hoping there will be some custom firmware for it soon. They are calling it the M18 on Discord and the dev made great progress on the M17 with SpectralELEC, so I’m hoping it eventually makes it to this device. It would be an awesome device if we had full RetroArch and emulation station control.
This thing is on sale on AliExpress nearly twice the price of R36S. Is it really worth?
It's hard to say. It's not optimized very well but it has a much more powerful chip, better ergonomics and controls. If we can get custom firmware on it I think it might be worth it. I like it.
@@OGTechNick Thank you for the detailed response!
screen looks nice, game looks laggy tho, any way to display overlay the frame rate cpu info etc ?
As of now, the main settings are not available. I'm sure soon somebody will make some type of custom firmware for this. It should help with playability and provide the options for FPS viewung in the settings.
please . i need a good CFW link to download it for this Device to play PSP . i already HIT the LIKE bouton : ).
Thanks for liking the video. Unfortunately there hasn’t been any progress on cfw for this device as far as I know. If something comes up I’ll make a video on it.
image os this handheld?
how does it work with nintendo ds with screends side by side?
This one doesn’t include Nintendo DS, yet. Typically the way it works on most emulation handhelds is using the trigger buttons to cycle between having side by side screens or one on top of the other. The other trigger will cycle between choosing a full screen with only the top or only the bottom image being shown. The right stick will act as your stylus.
Does it have Vulkan graphics in psp games?
Unfortunately, the settings are locked down, and I can't tell which they're using. I'm hoping custom firmware is developed for this one soon. It could really make it a great device for the price.
alguma cfw ?
Does it run final fantasy 8 and 9 smooth?
I'll have to test to see. I'll try to get back to you on that soon.
Wtf this has a 16:9 screen for 4:3 games. Everything is stretched. This is a Fk NO. No need to make a video about it. Just stick to R36S still the king.
If we could’ve gotten custom firmware with proper scaling and added bezel art I’d be fine with it, but I feel you. R36S is definitely the king! 👑
is this better than anbernic rg35xx H?
definitely not, h700 is almost as powerful, it has a very good quality 480p ips occa screen. On the other hand, it is... in the tones you can see a poor calibration plus a resolution that should be extinct... (480 x 272.) the same as the m17 (like to vomit)
The Anbernic system is far superior, especially the quality of materials.
It looks soo ugly lol at least they semi tried
Whats the fps
The settings for things like FPS, scaling, and all the other important menu options have been removed from this scaled back version of Emuelec. I couldn’t tell you exactly, but I think you can see the frameskipping pretty clearly here. Once we get cfw I’m sure we’ll have more answers and better performance.
Is it possible to adjust ppsspp settings? It's supposed to run better with this soc! 💯
I can’t access PPSSPP setting at all. I need your help, my friend!
Looks like this console deserves better custom fw 🤔
💯🙏🤞
