Rob approaches the fight game exactly how he approaches his RPGs. Torment himself until he learns how to conquer the next level. Cant help but respect that kind of attitude.
You're right 😂, and honestly he's made so many improvements since his second fight with Izzy. I genuinely believe he could get it done this time.

I'm an Izzy fan but I have nothing but love and respect for Rob. Genuinely a good guy. He said it himself- he won't shield his ranking just to protect his title shot. Straight away I thought of Colby Covington and his inactivity.
To be fair to colby, dana did say recently that they offered him 3 fights in the last year and he accepted all of em so maybe the inactivity isnt all his fault. But agreed thats hes been one of the most inactive #1 contender in a while.

Rob's favorite game is FF Tactics what a legend. That's such an underrated classic that doesn't get talked about enough these days.

I'm pretty sure he had to force his arms down when Adesanya Knocked out Alex they started to go up lol he looked happy for Izzy but it goes back to the last podcast where Rob is talking about challenging himself with the kind of games he plays. Izzy also released training footage where there practicing that shot.

Great podcast boys, being that I've been a fight fan since John L Sullivan was a nipper, hearing a fighter talking in a relaxed atmosphere is quite insightful on there natural character, the only interviews you to got to see with fighters in my day were people like Marvin Hagler being interviewed days before he was about to be in a fistfight, so we're obviously tense and a bit stilted and with an air of a man ready to beat an interviewer to death with his own camera man, So hearing one of your favourite fighters chilled and natural is great, being I'm older than God's slippers the gaming talk goes above the head, as computers were counting beads stuck on a washboard when I was a kid, but just wanted to say loving the show 👍 also thought Robs work on the commentary team with the UFC was great, hope it happens again.

The headbutt in the 2nd round threw Curtis off his game. Idk if he would've even won without it but the headbutt and the sequence after shouldn't have been counted on the judges score cards but the ref didn't catch it and neither did I until 1 of the commentators mentioned it

Hey Jonny and Rob! What system or mechanic from a game would you like to see implemented in some other game. For me it would have to be the Nemesis system from Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor, and War. Thanks for making my Thursdays much better :).

Holland's right hand wasnt broken but later in an interview he said it hurt a lot and he was super worried about it.
Also, Adesanya released some training clips of him practicing that knockout sequence.
The way Rob picks up on these things is crazy. Really shows you how experienced he is and how he has a mind for the game.
My dumbass didnt even realize there was anything wrong with Holland during the fight and I have no clue how Rob was able to tell Adesanya practiced that sequence.
And i was one of those idiots going RoB ShOUlD HaVe blah blah blah in the first Izzy fight 😂

I just subscribed. I'm an old guy and been watching mma since 92. I never talked to a fight BUT if I ever get the chance to I have a burning question: Why is there no "superman elbow"?
BTW in 1973 a bunch of people from Australia came to my home town for the boy scout Jamboree. Since then I've always been interested in Australian culture, history and nature (always wanted to see the great barrier reef-along with a rain forest). Perhaps even Australians aren't into it like me. Did most Australians ever see the movies "the Sundowners" (did Mitchum sound like an Australian?) or "last cab to Darwin"?

My fav fighter
With robs question about whether holland was fighting with a broken hand, it wasnt broken but it was still healing from the last break and the day of the fight was the first time he was able to put on and throw punches with small gloves (according to his interview with Ariel). So not completely compromised and he was cleared to fight with it about 2 weeks before the fight but he probably just had a mental block wanting to protect it.
He also got beat up pretty bad in the Wonderboy fight and that was only 4 months ago. He definitely wasn’t 100%
U guys should turn this into a fun back and forth on what’s goin on bc mma news and game news dry up, maybe talk about games ur playing/enjoy and what games u hate/r mid
