Loved this video Steve. It was absolutely spectacular. Could see the Blackpool tower. You were very brave to drive and walk up there. Certainly was very tight and high
Hi Stephen. Thank you very much for going up that hill to show us the fantastic views including Blackpool tower from the top. A great video. Hope that you have a great weekend. Take care and all the best Mildred 👍 xxx
Awesome views from the top of that hill. I didn't know about that monument. When you adjusted the levels on your camera to show the Blackpool Tower, you could also see The Big One to the right hand side. Thanks for showing this Stephen. 👍
I did see a programme or a you tube video about the Laurel and Hardy steps, it was quite interesting. Maybe you and the MacMaster could dress up as Laurel and Hardy and take a piano up the 199 steps at Whitby ? It would raise a lot for the charity, instead of you doing your calendars next year and it would keep you both fit after eating all that food you both consume lol 😂
It certainly a test of fitness walking up there. Cracking view and with more favourable light Blackpool tower is very visible with the naked eye. You certainly picked a nice evening for it.
Love Laurel and Hardy. Love Ulverston. Many thanks for this vlog. Loved it. I received your calendar today. Thanks Stephen. Top quality pictures, and may I say top quality produced product. 😊
Hi Stephen it was fantastic how you brought the Tower into focus, this country does have some lovely green spaces, you were in a lovely part of the country.Enjoy you hols
Hi steve my friend what a loverly video thank's for sharing. I never thourt you could see blackpool tower from cumbria..learnd somethink new today. Thanks my friend.
Hiya Stephen ,sorry its a little late, I had no idea you could see Blackpool from anywhere in Cumbria, just shows you, keep up the good work, this is Choppy
Thanks Stephen, the views of Ulverston were lovely from your viewing point, made even more spectacular by your choice of accompanying music. Could see the Blackpool tower in the mist. I have never been that far North on that side of the country, Lancaster is the furthest I have been, and up as far as Newcastle/Gateshead on the other side of the country.
Hi Stephen, a great video, you must be really fit to make that climb! Thank you for showing us the beautiful scenery. Hope the journey down was a lot easier! See you next time.xxxx
Thanks for the great vlog Steve, I think it was from you that I have learned of the Sir John Barrow (Hoad) Monument. You were telling us about the views we can see from the Cliffs in Blackpool about 2 years ago. As I love lighthouses, I am fascinated with the lighthouse on a hill with Mountains in the background. Yes that's what I can see from Bispham when I have my binoculars on a clear day. I was amazed on the Sunday of the Air Show, (11 August 24), which was a very clear day, that I was able to see the Hoad Monument from North Pier. 😊 😊 But unfortunately for me I don't have a camera good enough to take fotos of Hoad Monument from Blackpool. 😢 Even though it's not a lighthouse it is designed to resemble one - the third Eddystone Lighthouse (Smeaton's Tower) and is a grade II listed building. It was erected to Sir John Barrow by his two sons. It is sometimes open to the public. Unfortunately after seeing your vlog Steve, I have no hope of seeing the Hoad Monument up close. If a fit person like you have struggled to climb that hill, there is no hope for me. 😢 It was a pity it was a bit hazy but I could just about see Blackpool Tower. Have you any better fotos of Blackpool Tower from the Hoad Monument from a previous visit? Do you have any fotos of the Hoad Monument from Blackpool? I must buy your calendar, but I am dissapointed that you are not doing the Starman calendar this year. Hope you enjoy your holiday xxx
I do have pictured for both sides, but they are buried on my hard drive somewhere Brenda. I decided not to do another Starman calendar because I didn't sell enough last time, unfortunately. I will, however, consider selling my astronomy images as cards or similar.
Beautiful place good views of the area. Did see the Tower although it was murky can't win all the time especially with our weather. Thanks for another informative video Stephen. Enjoy your holiday !😊😊😊
Fantastic views from up the top where the monument is Stephen. You did well to focus in on Blackpool Tower through the haze. I always knew the town was the birthplace of Stan Laurel of Laurel & Hardy fame🙏🏻
GREAT VIDEO AND COULD SEE BLACKPOOL TOWER FROM THE MONUMENT ZOOMING IN ON IT . from 12.26 you could see the tower and the dark horizon made it easier to see . bet it is fantastic view on a clear day./ yes enjoy your holiday and if you want to make any other videos to share with us we will i bet enjoy them🤭🤭
Hi Stephen its Friday evening here in Nottingham great views and I could just about see blackpool Tower great video 📹 😀 👍 thanks for taking us with you 😀 from Michelle in Nottingham 😊😅😂
Hi Stephen, I had the 'pleasure' of doing that walk myself some years ago, when I visited some friends of mine. Damn near put my lights out! Cracking views, but not as good as the ones you captured. Glad I did when I was able. Great video 😉
Always wanted to know what the view was like from the top of this monument, can see it from the prom at Morecambe, now I know due to your video. One of your best Stephen, one of your best. Peaceful, graceful and as per usual the commentary and quality is first rate.
There is a longer, less steep route up the other side of the hill. The monument was built by public subscription and you can climb the inside on open days when they fly a flag from the pole.
Hi Stephen, not about the video as haven't watched it yet but just to let you know that the calendar arrived safe and sound. Great work, it's absolutely stunning. Thanks Mike & Gayle. PS IF we overpaid a bit on P&P please feel free to buy yourself a pint or donate it. 👍👍
I've seen the Blackpool Tower and even The Big One from Black Combe. I'm from West Cumbria and very odd to see Blackpool Tower and Sellafield in a 360.
@@bryannightingale5442 The pepper pot is in silvdale, not quite a strenuous walk to get to but worth a look in. It really does resemble a pepper pot. Not sure this monument is named the same but could be wrong🤔😁
Hi Steven we got some great photos on the park of the tower i don't know if you went onto to the path where the flood defences are there was a few mornings and evenings and it was clear as can be did you see the abandoned life boat thats great yo see good video all the same 😂DES

The distance from the monument to Blackpool Tower is more like 26 miles.
What a fabulous idea to find the highest point and show us Blackpool Tower! Hope you had a lovely holiday in the Lakes.
Fabulous video Stephen. Thank you for taking time to do this during your holiday. Beautiful views and of course the tower xx

Brilliant Museum - well worth a visit and the young man who works there what he doesn’t know about Laurel and Hardy isn’t worth knowing!!

Beautiful place and great seeing Blackpool Tower zoomed in. The still would make a brilliant framed landscape picture.
Beautiful ❤
Hi Stephen, I was really hoping you were going to take a piano up to the top of the hill like Laurel & Hardy did up those steps ! Lol 😂
Haha, I have actually been to the real Music Box steps in Silverlake Los Angeles. It's not a very nice area these days.
I did see a programme or a you tube video about the Laurel and Hardy steps, it was quite interesting.

Hi Stephen, I was in Cumbria 4 weeks ago beautiful place 😊
Thanks Julie x
Coming down I'm sure was easier. Thanks for the blog. I enjoyed. It so much seeing the countryside. Here in canada I don't get to see much.
Actually, coming down was quite scary because it was harder to stay on my feet on the steep bits.
Coming down a hill is usually harder especially if you have knee pain.
Love this, amazing views! 😎
Thanks a lot!

Legally it still is a part of Lancashire by the duchy of Lancaster. Only comes under Cumbria by the council 👍🏻
Controversial.
We are there next month. Maybe we will try the climb 😬
get donkeys to take people up to monument 🤭🤭now there is a idea.

You should have followed the road to the hospice, you've come to my neck of the woods here.I live four miles away , you went up the steep way
Any easier way up would be handy.
thanks for trudging up the hill and getting the views!
There is an easier route around the back that the tourist never take 👍🏻
I must look for that next time.

Thanks. I used a Panasonic S5II and 70-300mm lens.
