CB strikes me as very modest, almost shy. Certainly very humble considering his ability and career. I have met him a few times and he genuinely is one of the warmest people I've met. Jimbob on the other hand.... can be prickly to say the least. I've often wondered how these two seemingly different personalities have got along so well for 40 years. Best albums for me are Empires and Dance (This Fear of Gods), Sons/Sister (Love Song) and New Gold Dream (Hunter and the Hunted). The X5 tour was breathtaking. Thanks boys.
I love both bands, SM and U2. I believe Simple Minds is a Scottish band? U2, however, is massive they are still strong. Massive following worldwide, highest grossing tour in history (360). I would call them one of the greatest bands in history. Over Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and yes, even the Beatles. Why? Because they are one of the longest running acts of any band with a strong presence. They love what they do, enjoy it, and none of their heads went up their ass and none of them had a fit when a member did a side project.
Simple Minds interviews are always good to watch, it's just a shame they always stop at 1989 and never discuss their career from 1990 up to 2005. It would be interesting to hear their current take on that period of their career
Charles Burchill seems to have what i have as far as expressive language issues or Dyslexia is concerned specially when you're extremely creative individual as often happens among intellectual.
“Dead Vandals” is anything but rubbish and I never tire of it decade after decade... and this 2021! These two were incredible together on that tune. Burchill was an absolute killer punk/glam guitarist and Kerr’s vocals sounded like nothing else
funny who the presenter insist in New Gold Dream as your most importat record while for me and for SM Sons and facination is the most interesting and creative LP of all of them.
@@tufo8160 Because Bono is absolutely full of himself and thinks he's the king of all rockstars. Simple Minds is way better than U2 in both music and humility and Jim is a much better front man.
@@kristeninthedirtysouth I listen to u2 and sm all my life I have everything from both bands.. And I never say that this guy is better that the other.. I never meet them or talk to them.. And I don't care.. The music is that what is important for me.. I could tell you lots of things but maybe someday..dont worry its only rock n roll.
Rock stars tend not to age well. He used to be good looking, and so did Jim Kerr. Even Mick Macneil, who's been out of the band for a long time, isn't looking so good anymore.
Jim is still hot! Charlie is still handsome as well. They're older and not as skinny as they were in their 20's. So what? They still look fantastic, especially compared to lots of other musicians their age.
I don't who this guy is but he literally has no braincells. He didn't even answer the question and couldn't string one sentence together. Pathetic that we idolize these types of musicians so highly in our society - real evidence of decay at every level
Rod Bowers he is an amazing guitarist, doesn’t mean he is an amazing speaker...... if he was an amazing speaker then perhaps there would never have been Simple Minds.... count your blessings

This Fear of Gods is such a brilliant song.
Awesome, basements to Bali, damn wish I knew Jim was there. Can't wait to hear the new album
You've got to feel for Charlie in this interview. He seems so out of his comfort zone.

Charlie has hardly aged,he still looks the same from 30yrs ago although Jim has filled out a bit
Good mates for life them two...
Simple Minds is way better than U2!

Heroes!
The smart question is to ask about Steve Lillywhite
It's been a while since I've listened to U2. Are they looking bad?
Sons and Fascination
Simple Minds are Scottish. 10 points.. X 🏴🏴🏴🏴

Not the same without mick McNeill
or Derek Forbes
yes but then compare them to u2. They obviously look after themselves.
Jim Kerr look way better in the 70s .
Nah. He was too scrawny back then and in the early 80's. I'm glad he's filled out a good bit. He's aged well.
jim kerr.. the man bono never was...
why hate..i dont get it...

Bono is a Davos Globalist back stabber !
Charley can play the guitar better than he can speak fact.

not when you look at these two! although U2's music is as dull as dishwater these days.

you heard him play? probably has more artistry in his big toe than you have in your head
