Touching how universal the themes or connections that musicians have for their craft and their profession. When Jim Kerr is asked about "40 years"? "we hope for 40 days, then we wanted to play at University, then play 3 gigs, then..." In Wilco's live road movie Ashes of American Flags Jeff Tweedy stated about what he hoped for when he started playing in his first band Uncle Tupelo "we hoped we could get a gig, then we hoped we could get a few gigs, then local colleges, then what if we bought a van to travel to clubs across the state line..." They both had high hopes and humble beginnings but achieved great things... And they both sought and ACHIEVED being great live bands... I'm thankful for a life full of music and art, Simple Minds has been a part of my life for 35 years stateside in Chicago.
Jo: What's been the band's biggest achievement so far? Charlie: Staying together! Jo: Yes, where are Brian, Mike, Derek, John, Mick, Malcolm, Mark and Mel these days?
When I first heard these fools in 1983 I almost shot my pants that voice was on point ☝️ every note he hit on the money what can you do it's either a gifted or not when that's the lead .
I love the classic band lineup from the '80s, and that's primarily what I listen to from these guys. I just can't get myself to like anything they've done after that.....
Such a great band. I would love to see them again live.
Still got it guys, so pleased you kept going. So many happy memory's new and old from your songs =o)
I love them, they are Musical Treasures❤🎶
Two done to earth great guys, very proud of what they have achieved for their home town...

One of their goals was to be a good live band .... Mission Accomplished plus one ! :o)

Jeeeezzzzzz man I love Charlie just can't understand a word he says!
Lol that's true. Jim's accent is a lot less strong and easier to understand.

Enjoyed it ...

Yes 1991's 'Real Life' was a drop in standards from earlier albums. Since then I only know (& like) 'She's a River'.
But a top 80's band.
A ‘dizzy’ lol! Haven’t heard that word for years! 😂😂😂 Boots on corner of Argyle and Union street was Dizzy Corner
Can't believe they got my name the wrong way round lol! It's David Craig not Craig David lol
Simple minds is for people with beautiful simple minds...
🏆❤️ ilove simple minds ❤️🏆
Lovin the shoes Jo
Very Creative Band ....
go on my son.
Thank video
hahaha loved it !
I love their acoustic set and their drummer was genius she held it all together beautifully always loved them lost none of their charm xxxx
Let Charlie talk. Don´t stop him all the time.
In Glasgow they’re known as Jack n’ Victor
Staying together. Your missing the main three who gave you the success. Mick McNiel, Derek Forbes and the best Drummer in the whole world Mel Gaynor.
And they first drummer Brian Mcgee, he and Gaynor are awesome
The only two originals Chick and Jimpy
Charlie sounds a lot like Scotty from Star Trek!
David Lazarus I think scotty was from Glasgow also!
Minds > u2
NO MEL GAYNOR NO SIMPLE MINDS PERIOD!
hot gal
Charlie's put a lot of weight on
And a lot of hair dye.
So have I!
Didn't sell out to mainstream bollocks.
who didnt are you referring to simple minds
Remember: If it ain't Scottish, it's crap!
Why do people pile on the weight after 40
