Shipping goggles off, I think it’s pretty clear that whatever subtext there is behind their friend group break up, it seems pretty clear that the reason that Cherry is hung up on fixing Adam is BECAUSE he identifies with him so much and wants that carefree adam of their youth-the one who made every day feel like a festival-back. Something something about the cultural significance of skating/delinquent outsider culture in socially conservative Japan or whatever, and yet these two meet on even footing as leaders of their little high school street gangs and immediately become friends. Mine favourite was Snake but now its Reki. I was dissapointed with his ark in the end. And I know that many people hwadcanon Karou as gay men, but I think hes Ace. Why? Part of It is colour symbolisym of Cherry's outfit. Second he only seems to like Carla. She's the only girl that will always be there, and will not try to flip him. Yes I know not all robo-fans characters are ace but its very popular now days, and I know he might have a crush on Adam in his teen years. But ace people can have crushes, fall in love and have preferances.
