I’m the opposite of most people, I genuinely couldn’t stand the integrated bracelet design initially, but have really come round to it. This looks like a lovely watch, but I’m definitely not a fan of the Tiffany blue fad (I’ll probably come round to that too in 12 months time 😂)
They need to add the strap options, I like the darker blue dial, Precidrive option would be good. It's a nice Certina that you know is going to be there for the next generation to enjoy. I'm not an integrated bracelet fan but with the small links this one might be fine. Cheers!
This is one extravagant double domed sapphire away from being a must buy. Just imagine how much better it would have looked and how much character it would've brought!... Regardless, much beter looking than the PRX and I loooove its hands for some reason.
The way it is designed makes the bezel look like it is overhanging the case. The PRX is more balanced as the bezel is inset to the case and looks far better. The design of this watch make its look huge and much like the Seiko Prospex SBDC053.
I agree. This watch has a huge dial, but doesn't do anything with all that real estate. Too much empty space unbalances the design. The PRX, on the other hand, is perfectly balanced, especially in 35mm size (which I'll also add is just as "elegant" as anything else).
@@BraveBeaters Quartz version are out 😀(sold out very fast, there is only black version left) PS They also have now DS PH100M Lady/Gent in Quartz version
I like the color but the proportions are off to me. The dial is way too big and the bracelet looks skinny. I think they should have had more metal around the dial or a smaller watch head all together.
I like this case shape and overall style of this watch more than the PRX. Still haven’t decided if a Tiffany blue dial watch belongs on my wrist but I’ll consider other dial colors.
Honestly, I missed the wow-Effekt. Actually they csme little late with that design and color. But when looking closer it seems like that the DS-7 is actually like an upgraded PRX. The bracelet looks mich better manufactured as I could see on your footage. And it uses the better C07.611 movement instead of the C07.111 at ghe PRX. So after all it seems mor refined than thd PRX. What is more interesting in my opinion, are the green and Titanium version. The Chrono version looks unfortunately boring. If the subdials would had at least contrasting colors, it would had been a great abd affordable alternative to the PRX Chrono.
I don’t normally chase “fads” and I think the colour and the inter grated bracelet is a bit of a fad….. but I really like this watch. Great summer watch.
Idm integrated bracelet but tiffany blue is not my colour, I rather black, dark blue or white. I bought a DS podium 13 years ago and I am still wearing it daily. Do you think powermatic 80 is better than 2824-2 ?
Yeah, the PRX (80.111) does have plastic parts, Certina uses a different version (80.611), which has a normal escapement and the anti-magnetic hairspring. In fact, most watches using the Powermatic 80 got a normal escapement, I don't know why they cheaped out like that on the PRX, but I guess it has sadly paid of for them.
Can you talk a little about the Powermatic 80? I heard it's not that serviceable, basically a disposable mvmnt. It made me avoid Manny watches because of this mvmnt.
Certainly not a bad watch, but a sub $1000 steel watch with an integrated bracelet and a Tiffany blue dial launched in November 2023 ? Come on ! Have the Certina designers been living under a rock for the past thee years ?
Wish Tissot would upgrade to this movement. I prefer the design of the PRX, and I know it's kind of silly, but I don't want to buy a Swiss watch with a plastic escapement. I'd be okay with that in a 200-300€ Seiko or something, but in this price-range, and in a Swiss watch, it's a no-go for me.
Hi, wow I've seen it. what is strange the hands are looking to be extremely small and the watch feels huge. but it's not, it feels to be around 40mm in diameter.
I think its a good looking watch, but at a price its selling people have to be a fan of the brand because the "PRX" is its major competition and for the similar price they will go for the PRX.
No, Certina is better then Tissot, and i Will go with DS7 more then with PRX. If you have PRX you are like 98% of people, but if you have Certina, you are more special.
@nikolaukic8140 I agree with you that you'll stand out of the crowd with this model, but the Tissot Prx is all ready stablished as a collectible watch. It's known to be the intro Swiss luxury watch of its class.
It's a big improvement to the awkwardly shaped PRX, but I think it's coming far too late. With the PRX, Citizen Tsuyosa, and slightly upmarket Christopher Ward The Twelve, we've already reached integrated bracelet sports watch saturation at the budget price level. Everyone who wants one will either already have one or be shepherded to the already-popular models. Used PRXs are already flooding the pre-owned market, which indicates to me that there's no market left.
One of the first comments :) will edit after watching Edit : great video as always, fun to watch. Being owned tissot prx two years by today and a big fan of integrated bracelets, even I am pretty tired of prx-like watches and turquoise 😅 Get something new dear producers
This is way better looking than that horrible designed prx crap. That said, its still just a better looking prx and generally nothing special in terms of design or movement. Its a generic "jump on the integrated bracelet bandwagon" watch that doesnt stand out with anything. If you want an integrated bracelet watch that actually looks good and stands out go for Oris Aquis or Tudor Royal
I have a modern ds2 and ph200…bit sick of seeing “powermatic 80” written on so many watches. Thank god the 200 doesn’t have it and the ds2 has it in a more attractive style than the CAPITAL version
I love Certina but I think they always make their watches just a little too big. I adore their 38mm diver but they need to make some of their other watches smaller. People are begging all watch companies to go smaller. The dial on this is way out of proportion and too large.
The PM movement has 3 types of movement, certina uses the best of them 👍🏻, and it depended on what’s wrong with the movement, sometimes the change the entire movement, and some watchrepariest can’t service this one, so they send them to Certina..
the shape is elegant like a tsuyosa and the finish is like the prx. its better than both. 😍
haha! true words! :)
I’m the opposite of most people, I genuinely couldn’t stand the integrated bracelet design initially, but have really come round to it. This looks like a lovely watch, but I’m definitely not a fan of the Tiffany blue fad (I’ll probably come round to that too in 12 months time 😂)
Haha! It happnes to me as well to be a late adapoter of trending things :)
I don't care for integrated bracelets but I do like the color!
Agree. The color is very nice!
Thank you for the DS-7 review. I was waiting for it.
Cheers! :)
Beautifully shot and scored nice watch also
Cheers! :)
I love Certina as a brand! Out of the available colors the green looks best for me. I dont like the integrated bracelet thing but its a pretty watch!
Agree! :) I also like the black version with a white inner chapter ring.
I like the Certina a lot I find the PRX to be brutal in its design. Would be good to see a comparison between the Certina and the Tsuyosa.
That's a good idea! I can facilitate that :) Cheers!
@@BraveBeaters All three please. tnx

Balanced assessment :) I agree, it is different as design compared to the normal genta style.
It was a good decision not to pull the trigger on a PRX. Will definitely see this in store!
Yes, worth to be seen in flesh if you have the opportunity :)
This is one extravagant double domed sapphire away from being a must buy. Just imagine how much better it would have looked and how much character it would've brought!... Regardless, much beter looking than the PRX and I loooove its hands for some reason.
Salut! :) a DD sapphire would had been cool and quirky! Cheers!
You're the first reviewer to cover this watch! I like this more than the PRX. Does this one have extended lug like the PRX?
Apparently :)
Yes has a detachable bracelet exactly like the PRX, so the connecting link should be on the strap (if they will launch straps for it)
Looks nice, a good watch to compete with PRX and other attainable integrated bracelet watches. Thank you for this great video.
True, a good quality alternative below 1000$ range.
I like Certina and I like this design as the dial is front and center, as you note…. Loverly
The PRX feeling like a bracelet is the point imo when it’s an integrated watch. It should be cohesive.
I agree!
Agree. I have the 35mm PRX and it's perfect.
The way it is designed makes the bezel look like it is overhanging the case. The PRX is more balanced as the bezel is inset to the case and looks far better. The design of this watch make its look huge and much like the Seiko Prospex SBDC053.
I agree, Initially I thought it's a 43 mm watch head looking at the bracelet taper.

On my wishlist but I’m waiting the PrecidriveTM version if it’s happening 😊
Great video like always ❤
Thank you! There is a Precidrive option but as chronograph made on 41 mm

I felt the same
+2 :D
Very good all around watch.
Another small watch that saves me my money, great! Thanks for the video.
🤣
The bracelet looks like a narrower Bvlgari Octo bracelet. Love the dial
Just do a CW 12. Hard to match CW’s quality for the $$. Although the 80 hrs is a great feature!
I like this case shape and overall style of this watch more than the PRX. Still haven’t decided if a Tiffany blue dial watch belongs on my wrist but I’ll consider other dial colors.
Agreed here...the face of the dial dominates everything and has the reverse issue of the prx. I'll stick with the CW 12
That's a very nice watch.
"reverse issue of prx", love this comment 😄 I agree, now this is too circular, and bracelet should be a bit wider
Honestly, I missed the wow-Effekt.

Good video! One of the first youtubers to review this watch.
Does anyone knows if the titanium version has the blue pattern in sunburn too?
Thanks! it feels that the blue version has a sunburst. Yes.
Was really eyeing the Tissot PRX POWERMATIC in mint… but I think this has talked me out of the Tissot!!
Idm integrated bracelet but tiffany blue is not my colour, I rather black, dark blue or white. I bought a DS podium 13 years ago and I am still wearing it daily. Do you think powermatic 80 is better than 2824-2 ?
13 years? Congrats!! Honestly I think powermatic80 is an evolution to the 2824.
Looks better than Tissot or Casio
More elegant than the PRX. I have a late 70's Certina automatic that's a bit like this.
I can't comment constructively on the watch, it's not for me, but I have an offtopic question.
What is the background music? I fell in love with it...
Like the look of the watch. Only problem is I’ve read the power attic 80 uses plastic parts in the movement.
Some do, some don’t…don’t think Certina do in anything, it’s more Tissot
This watch uses the 25 jewel version of the Powermatic 80, which doesn't have any plastic parts.
Yeah, the PRX (80.111) does have plastic parts, Certina uses a different version (80.611), which has a normal escapement and the anti-magnetic hairspring.

Plastic parts are in use only in tissot budget watches . Hamilton Mido and Certina ETAs are 100% metal. Get some knowledge dude
Your videos make any Watch look good! This one looks a bit off in proportions. I think the dial is too large for the case and bracelet.
Agree in regard to the proprotiins. Thank you very much! :)
Crisp dial.
As usual! :D
That slim line bracelet design is 🔥
can you review DS7 powermatic titanium, about weight, dimension ... thanks you
Can you talk a little about the Powermatic 80? I heard it's not that serviceable, basically a disposable mvmnt. It made me avoid Manny watches because of this mvmnt.
It is fully serviceable and a solid accurate caliber.
Even if the movement does get replaced, they're replacing one excellent movement with another excellent movement. lol

I concur. The dial color is late to the game.
